The Keyblade War: the Awakening of a Solemn Melody

The door slid open and Phisoxa was there looking straight at him, she then put her finger up to her lips in a silencing gesture.
" I'm glad you made it kid, but try being much quieter this time, the woods aren't safe anymore."
She said whispering to him, her face stiff since she was trying to hold back from crying.

 

Mike noticed her face almost straining, but he didn't want to say anything about it. He quietly climbed in, sitting down in a far corner. He felt shaken, he wasn't sure why. Although he was all bruised up, but it had nothing to do with that, infact, he barely felt that, but he was shaking and he felt pale, But why? he asked himself again, still staying as quiet as possible. He wanted some way to make Phisoxa okay, but after what had just happened.. he wasn't so sure there wasn't anything to do anymore.

 

" keep watch out the window, let any survivors in if you see them."
Phisoxa said as she sat at the control panel and began setting things up and trying to get a radio signal so she could order a free passage to Janina so the world border patrol wouldn't try to shoot her down.As she worked Phisoxa spoke to Mike.

 

Mike got up and stared out the window, not a living thing in sight, he thought he saw something moving once, but it stopped as quick as it started. Mike listened and nodded his head, occasionally replying, but otherwise he preferred to look out the window looking for more survivors. Somebody had to see the tunnel and come..right? he thought. Suddenly he saw yellow eyes and tried to motion Phisoxa over to where he was, but then they disappeared, and he looked over at Phisoxa, "I saw yellow eyes behind the trees..Darkside nearby..we have to hurry.." Mike said very quietly, praying to get away from this world.

 

" If they are just little guys don't bother about them, so where are you from?"
Phisoxa said as she put some headphones on and began messing around with the knob on control panel till there was a muffled voice of someone talking coming form her headphones.
" Hey there, I would like to know if I can request a safe passage the Academy of Light has just been hit severely by an attack by the dark realm and there are few survivors, many including my master, Master Westus have fallen. . ."
There was a muffled reply emanating from her headphones.
" Okay, mhmm, we will be there anytime soon, probably when dawn hits. We are traveling abord Master Westus's gummi ship, he entrusted it to us. Oh . . . Okay, signing off."
Phisoxa pulled off her headphones and set them down on the control panel as she fixed her hair up while sighing.
" It seems His majesty, the council, and a committee of politicians would like to holding a meeting with us, problem is,I hate politicians . . . Oh well hopefully his majesty will speak more."
She said getting ready to prepare the ship for takeoff, as she did, the conditions outside started to be more chaotic as strong winds of dark energy teared through the forest and back at the school, the entire world seemed to be shaking as powerful winds ripped through, the world was getting ready to eclipse and soon crumble away. Below them, the ground began cracking up and splitting as trees around them fell. Phisoxa spotted the darkside she spotted earlier walking towards the gummi ship. It had finally found them, so Phisoxa unleashed a few laser charges at it's head to knock it back, buying them some time so Phisoxa could get the ship up into the air without complication. Soon the dark winds became thick and heavy, and the ground shaking more erratically. Soon the entire landscape sunk into the dark depths as Phisoxa piloted higher into the air and flew into the atmosphere and into space. Behind them, the world had gone pitch black, shrouded in darkness.
" Well whoever had a strong enough heart to survive that kind of darkness probably has a good chance of making it. Hopefully the darkness vortexed them out." She said as she drove the ship, for some reason the ship flew swifter and more faster then most gummi ships would at normal speed. Pretty soon the world of Janina came into view ahead.

OOC: Okay so whoever's characters that were left on that world, you are already automatically kicked off the world. So no need in roleplaying how you got off. We already know. So the darkstorm would have vortexed you guys all to the Imperial Capital of Janina. Even those who are not of the light realm themselves.

 

Mixt watched from his perch as a gummiship headed through the gap through the clouds. As the gap in the clouds closed as single ray of light illuminated Mixt and slowly grew narrower as the clouds came together. Just as they came together the storm got significantly wosre, now feeling like a huricane. As the moments passed it only got worse. In the sky grew a sphere of darkness that pulled away at everything. The people, the buildings, the ground itself, nothing escaped its grasp. Where Mixt stood, directly underneath, there was a current of energy that kept him suspended. The feeling was much like being underwater as two conflicting whirlpools met. He could hardly breath but it hardly seemed necessary as his vision faded to black.

Slowly Mixt came back to his senses slowly, one-by-one. First was the smell, a musky scent. Next his hearing, voices in urgency and a dull uneven drone. Taste, a mildly salty copper. Touch; cold, numb, and heavy. As his sight came back slowly he began to connect the dots. A man was helping him stand up. Looking down Mixt saw streaks of red in a pool of water. He was bleeding in a fountain. 'Had that been a dream? No, this isn't the Academy and my memories of the Academy had been far too long for it all to have been a dream. So where am I? And how did I get here?' Hard as he tried the answers didn't come. He would need to follow along for now. Mixt walked weakly along as the man supported him and guided him to a hospital.

 

Isaac weakly opened his eyes. He started looking around, Uhh... Where... Where am I? As he tried to move his arms, he felt resistance and some sharp pain. Ah! That hurts! Oh yeah, I crash landed here... how long ago was that?

"Oh, you're awake? That's good," Ashley said as she saw him try to move around. "You shouldn't move around yet, you were seriously injured."

"Right... where am I right now?" Isaac tried to look at the person he was talking to.

Ashley walked up to him, seeing that he wanted to see who was talking, "You're in the hospital. I'm Ashley, the nurse assigned to watch you."

"Oh?" Isaac forced himself into an upright position, ignoring the feeling of pain coursing throughout his body.

"Didn't I just tell you not to move?"

"Yeah, well, thanks for the patch job, but I'll be fine from here out." Isaac lifted his arm up and said, "Curaga," as he was surrounded by a green light.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Ashley rushed to close the door.

"Huh? I'm using magic... Is there something wrong with that?" He started to take off the bandages from his body, revealing that they were now completely healed.

"Do you realize that if they find out you can use magic they'll cast you out?"

"Really? What for, I mean... Oh crap... You people can't use magic, can you?" Isaac stopped pulling off his bandages. "Damn... That was a pretty stupid move on my part."

"Damn right, put the bandages back on and get on this wheelchair!" Ashley pulled out a wheelchair.

"What for?" He followed most of her instruction except for the getting into the wheelchair part.

"I need to get you out of here, so that you can leave immediately!" She forced him into the wheelchair. Ashley opened the door, and casually said, "The patient would like to go out for some fresh air."

"All right then, be careful out there." One of the receptionists called out.

 

Phisoxa road the energy current in space till she reached the atmospheric border of Janina. Before she could go any farther two partrol ships with the imperial crest upon them came up to meet her. They then signaled to her to continue downward as they escorted her.Janina certainly was a massive world compared to the world where the Academy was stationed, the city seemed to stretch on forever with towering well-built architecture for miles and glistening cool canals that ran through the middle of the city, dotted with sail boats and yachts of all kinds, floating against the waves. Instead of continuing down, Phisoxa was ordered to land on a suspended platform that sat on a cliff overlooking the city. Once Phisoxa finished getting things processed she allowed them to take her ship into the hanger to store it as two soldiers came walking over to be Phisoxa and Mike's escorts to the palace. They lead them both to an elevator that lead to the base of the cliff, but the wonderful thing about it was the elevator was one made of glass so that they could see a good view of the city below. When the elevator reached the bottom, the escorts helped lead Phisoxa and Mike through the crowds of people that crowded the streets. The streetlife of Janina was a sight to see since there was so many people going to and fro and the buildings that lined the street were a mix of modern architecture and oldworld style buildings together. As they neared the castle they pasted a fountain that bore a statue of three armored knights and the emperor as a young man in armor standing together carved out of copper in the middle of city plaza where a servant was feverishly scrubbing out the fountain which was covered in a substance that looked like blood, nearby a group of nobleborn girls were gossiping to eachother about what had happened near the fountain not so long ago.
" I wonder what happened there.

When Mixt entered the Hospitial a couple of nurses helped take him to a room set aside for walk in patients. It had a bed and a window and some unused medical equipment. Outside the room there was a man speaking to the front desk. He finished talking to the receptionist and he was about to walk out of the hospital when passed Mixt's room. He stopped and then entered the room. He was blond haired, blue eyed middle aged man wearing glasses and a long tan coat bearing a badge on his chest with a imperial crest.
" What do we have here . . .? A surviving student?"
He said recognizing where he had come from by his tattered uniform.

 

Ashley brought Isaac to the edge of town and told him to tell her where he was from and why he could cast magic. "Alright, alright, no need to get your panties in a bunch, geez." Isaac pulled out a cigarette and light it with flames that he conjured from his fingertips.

"Why are you smoking?" Ashley looked at him with a really pissed off glare.

"Hey, I'm under a lot of stress, considering what just happened and how I came to be here. Let me have this." He took a long drag from his cigarette and let out a calm breath. "Okay, as you might have already guessed, I'm not from this world. I'm from the Academy of Light, which was recently overtaken by a dark core. Most of the student body was unable to escape, so by now, they've either been swallowed up by the darkness or tossed out to distant worlds. As for me, I managed to get to my Gummi Ship before anything happened. I crash landed here in, wherever this place is." Isaac looked around.

"Alright, so you crash landed here escaping from the darkness overtaking this Academy of Light. Okay, well right now, you're in Ryukahn, a town to the north of the Imperial Capital located in a mountain range. That's where you are right now." Ashley said trying to understand what's going on.

"Right, as for why I can cast magic, I was born with the innate ability to conjure magic. I've been able to do this since I was a boy. Though, I don't exactly know why. I have no idea who my parents are or where I'm originally from. A strange man took me in and raised me like his own, teaching me to control my magic and how to defend myself with a weapon." Isaac looked down.

"What's wrong?"

"Well... It doesn't matter right now, but anyways, the reason I can use magic is because I was born with the ability to. At least, that's how I think it works." He put out his cigarette as he finished explaining things to Ashley. "So let me ask you, how is it that you know about magic when others in this town are afraid of it?"

"I can use magic too... though I'm not sure why. Same as you, I guess I was just born with this gift." Ashley sat on the ground next to Isaac, who was fidgeting in the wheelchair. "Why are you moving around so much?"

"Man, it's really uncomfortable, I don't like sitting for extended periods of time."

"Then get out of the chair," Ashley told him, patting the ground next to her, "And sit here."

"Didn't you hear what I said? I don't like sitting for extended periods of time," Isaac stood up and stretched his limbs, which were still wrapped in bandages.

"Still, you should sit, don't draw to much attention to yourself. If you stand up with all of those bandages, people will wonder what happened, so if you want to get out of the wheelchair, at least sit next to me right here." Ashley placed her hand on the ground and made it softer so that if wouldn't be as uncomfortable as the chair.

Isaac sat down next to her, "Thanks for telling me. So, what do you do?"

"Well... obviously I'm a nurse, but I'm also a bounty hunter. I chase down criminals and turn them in for a reward."

"That so? Sounds like fun. Me? I'm a mercenary, hired for military purposes whenever it's needed."

"Really? But, you look like you're no older than I am." Ashley looked at him with a perplexed stare.

"Well, that's how skilled I am. When the military heard of my uncanny abilities, they employed me, to kill..." Isaac stared down at the ground.

 

Mixt groaned slightly before saying "I hope that was rhetorical. That should be abvious" Adjusting his weight slightly on the bed Mixt asked. "Are there any others?" 'Of course there are others.' Mixt answered himself in his head 'Raw probability should tell you that. With a school of that magnitude at least a few people should have been strong enough. And then there are the people that managed to leave in time. But how long was I out? I couldn't have been in that fountain for more than a few minutes. But how did I get there anyway? Had I been thrown from space I surely would have destroyed it and I would be in far worse shape. But surely nobody left me there.'

 

The man grabbed a chair and sat down next to his bed while adjusting his glasses.
" Yes there are . . . two youngsters from the academy managed to escape through Master Westus's gummi ship after he became deceased not so long ago. One of the youngsters was a young woman who went by the name of Phisoxa Mindell I think, Master Westus's apprentice, as for the other, some boy named Mike, I don't know much about him, His royal Highness wishes to council with them both. Anyways the world of Janina is keeping their eyes open in case anymore of you guys drop in. For some reason none of the masters have made contact with us, I find that strange, they have strong hearts yet I don't know if the darkness hadn't repelled them or not, its as if all of them disappeared . . . "

 

"Phisoxa Mindell..." Mixt repeated slowly as he recalled the girl. "I guess I didn't give her enough credit" Mixt stopped for a moment as he tried to recollect his thoughts of what happened. "So the masters vanished? Strange indeed. They of all people should have been able to make it out. I'm sure they just need more time. There is no telling what could of happened after that. I for one just woke up minutes ago.

 

" But remember you are only a mere student, not a apprentice nor a master, don't you think it's weird how only students are dropping in on Janina. I guess destiny has something planned for you youngsters. . . I would suspect that immeditatly because I have been around longer then most people to watch that sort of stuff .. happen."
He said taking off his glasses for a bit to clean them, he looked at Mixt without his glasses on, suddenly his blue eyes had a eerie yellow glow in them.
" While you are in this hospital I suggest you take good care of yourself in Janina, try not getting into too much trouble or else I will be back to see you."
He said with a cheerful smile as a intense dark presence could be felt in the room coming from him.

 

Robbie floated in the air above the destroyed acedamey. The dark energies weren't affecting him. As he looked around a small crystal caught his attention. He flew down and picked it of the ground. "Interesting, its only a shared, but there was whole core here. It was in the pssesion of a student so, oh no. The escapees" he said looking up at the cloudy sky.

 

Ashley and Isaac were quiet for several moments. The revelation that Isaac was a killer was seeping into Ashley's mind, ever so slowly. Finally, Ashley spoke, "So, exactly how powerful are you?"

"I wouldn't know, I always try to hold back whenever I fight, relying on my wit and speed to outmaneuver my enemy and get an opening."

"Would you care to find out how strong you are?" Ashley was really curious to see how strong he was.

"What? Why?"

"Well... There's this witch that lives on the outskirts of the town, and she is considered to be one of the most powerful around these parts." Ashley stood up and motioned for Isaac to get into the wheelchair.

"I guess... I never really thought about finding out what my limits are." Isaac reluctantly got into the wheelchair. Ashley pushed him to the outskirts of the town where nobody except for that witch lived.

As they entered the outskirts, Ashley spoke to Isaac, "You can get out of the wheelchair and take off your bandages." He did exactly that as they continued on until they reached a run-down old shack. "This is the place, hold on. HEY! YOU DIRTY WITCH! GET OUT HERE!"

From the shack, they heard disgruntled mumbling and someone clearing their throat and spitting. "Eww, that's gross," Ashley commented.

"What the hell do you want, ya hussy?" Out from the shack emerged a tall and slender, short-haired woman with a fair complexion.

"Hmph, disregarding what you said, how 'bout a round with this guy? He seems pretty strong."

"Huh?" The witch slowly turned her head to look at Isaac, who was astonished as he was expecting to see an old lady when he heard witch. "What, this geeky little momma's boy? Don't look so tough to me."

Isaac was infuriated by this statement and went right up to her face, "Wanna run that by me again, ya wicked hag?"

"Wicked hag? Who the hell are you callin' a wicked hag, ******ed pretty boy?"

"Oh, I am so gonna kill you, you harlot!"

"Bring it on, meet me over at the base of the mountain and we'll settle this." The witch leaped over to the base of the mountain.

 

Mixt still seemed calm despite that presence. In part because of his own manner but also because of the darkness he was harboring himself. 'the ability to see what lies in the darkness belongs to those within that same darkness...' Mixt remembered his thought earlier. 'Is that why he came in here at all? He could sense me. If he was one, who else was there? I'll need to look into this Mixt wondered. Cautious about using magic when magic had not been used to heal him already Mixt decided upon the route of subtlety. "Regen" he muttered under his breath. It would heal him, but not all at once like a standard cure spell. Instead it would augment his body's natural healing for a time. Mixt nodded. "I understand"

 

The two soldiers continued to escort Phisoxa and Mike till the got to the palace steps. The palace in itself was massive and towering, with a huge clocktower built into it that arched over the front door of the palace. The walls of the palace were made of a white marble type rock and so were the steps. Phisoxa walked up the marble steps on her own, walking towards the large wooden doors that had the imperial crest carved into metal upon them. The doors opened on their own revealing a spacious throne room behind them with granite floors and warmly lighted with chandeliers that hung from the ceiling, glittering in the light. a couple groups of people talked, people of noble descent who only looked at the two ragged students with a snooty look and they returned back to there gossip. The Emperor himself sat on the throne, sleeping it seemed a knight in beautiful opalescent tan and bronze armor stood nearby, as a couple of noble women admired him from afar

The man smiled and stood up putting his glasses back on and his eyes returned to their blue hue and the presence disappeared.
" You may join in on council that his Majesty is holding to dicuss the events and incidents of late if you wish after you healed up. If you do you will get a bed and a place at tonight's dinner if you wish. Anyways see you around, I wish you a full healing."
He said with a smile as a man called for his name and Rould turned around to walk out of the room after the one who called him. The caller's voice was deep and raspy, like that of a old man's. The door opened as Rould walked out of the room, revealing who had called for Rould. A old man with tan complexion yellow eyes and slighty pointed ears and a scraggly beard stood outside. He only grinned when Rould came up next him and before they left the man smiled and acknowledged Mixt through the doorway as they walked out of sight.

 

Mike couldn't believe anything that he was seeing, everything that was happening. Everything since he had first talked with Robbie felt like a dream, an illusion you may call it. I don't want to talk to boring people who care only about the law..nothing else.. he took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a second. He almost felt like smiling for some strange reason, but then his mood darkened just as quickly as it had changed. He gave a quick glimpse at Phisoxa, then looked down at the ground, kicking the ground slightly.

 

"Ugh! The nerve of that woman, calling me a 'geeky little momma's boy' and a '******ed pretty boy', I am gonna kill her!" Isaac was getting really worked up. He was usually pretty calm whenever he first meets people, but when he gets called names, he gets enraged very quickly. "That b**** is so dead when I get her!"

"Man, watch your mouth!" Ashley slapped him in the face, leaving a red hand-shaped mark on his face.

"Gah!" Isaac ran all the way down to the base of the mountain, screaming at the top of his lungs, "I'M GONNA GET YOU, YOU EVIL HAG OF A WITCH YOU!!!!"

"Geez, maybe I shouldn't have brought him to Morgana, with her being so short with people all of the time. But at least it'll be fun to see who is more powerful." Ashley chased Isaac all the way down to the base of the mountain.

When Isaac finally got to the base of the mountain, he was breathing heavily and red in the face, "All right, hag, let's fight right now."

Morgana was holding her naginata as she was sitting, smoking while she waited for Isaac, "Oh, so you have some balls at least. Though you shouldn't have come here dumba**, in case Ashley forgot to tell you, I'm called the most powerful around these parts. Nothing to sne-"

"SHUT THE HELL UP AND LET'S FIGHT ALREADY!!!!" Isaac summoned his Mutsunokami, a nodachi with a black handle and a unique black blade. He rushed at Morgana with vigor as she blocked him with the handle portion of her naginata.

"Hey, slow down, don't want this to end too fast now, do we dill weed?" Morgana smirked at him and started casting magic, "Quake," She calmly called out as the ground cracked underneath Isaac's feet.

Isaac growled at her, "Float!" He flew into the air and avoided the shattering ground.

"Well, this is unexpected, another magic wielder. Hey, hussy, you neglected to mention your boyfriend could use magic." Morgana exclaimed as she saw Ashley finally catch up to them.

"Shut up and just fight him, will ya!" Ashley was angered by Morgana's calm expression through the fight.

 

A portal opened between Issac and his oponent. Robbie dropped out of it and landed on the ground. For those that sensed darkness he was covered in it, but no of it had infected him. He layed on the ground were he landed, not moving.
