The Keyblade War: the Awakening of a Solemn Melody

"All I know is I met you because your friend screamed when you passed out. Then you collapsed a few minutes after that. Calculating the time differences of worlds that was about two days ago. Now I'm no doctor." Mixt pulled back his sleeve to show the bandages he was still wearing. "If I was I likely wouldn't have found myself bleeding in a fountain. But I think that it is too soon to say you're cured. You need someone to be watching your back. I won't be stealing any limelight if you are worried about that Ms. Mindell. I'll just be your shadow for a few days." After eating a couple of bites he added as an after thought. "Oh, and your never being sick actually counts against you, it means you haven't developed the antibodies most people do so you are the most likely person to get sick in this room."

 

" Hmm who knows, I could have gotten sick anytime, darkness could have easily poisoned me but for some reason it stayed back. What do you say to that? It ate up all the masters whose hearts are far stronger then mine perhaps and yet it spared me.
Phisoxa said looking at her reflection in a silver platter nearby.
" and no need to call me Miss, I don't consider myself any part of that damn family anymore, I may use their name, but I don't consider myself a honorary noble. Not at all. Damn that burns . . ."
Phisoxa said as a burning pain underneath her collar bone interrupted her discussion. Phisoxa turned to the side and moved the strap of her dress over to look at the strange mark placed there.
" Why is it burning? It's only a tattoo. . ."
She said trying to mutter it under her breath but she didn't realize that Mixt could easily pick it up.

 

Mixt looked at her cockeyed "You hardly seem the type for a tattoo. When did you get it? Maybe it's infected." Mixt joked with her.

 

" You saw ?!"
Phisoxa said jumping nearly out of her seat. Phisoxa sighed and pulled Mixt aside into a pantry room nearby.
" Well . . . I got to ask you a opinion on something. Well I had a strange dream last night. Yeah I know seems crazy but, in this dream I dreamed about walking in a white abyss and all the sudden I came upon a giant tall black monolith made of stone in the middle of nowhere. It beckoned me to touch it, there was whispers coming from it."
She said pausing for a moment to let him think it over.

 

Gexln stopped looking around and focused on Mike's question. "Definitely" he said, almost in a whisper.

 

Mike trusted Gexln at this point, "When we were out in the hallway this morning, I heard a voice. It said "Tonight." Then back at our room I heard "War." Now, right over in that corner I saw this creature, who the voice belonged to. He looked almost normal, but his face, one image was worst than the last." he whispered all of this, kneeling in closer to Gexln as he talked. "Nobody anywhere is safe."

 

"Think it all has something to do with the Academy being destroyed?" Gexln asked. For some bizarre reason the word 'Nobody' seemed to sting him psychologically. Why would a meaningless word like that impact me in the slightest? he wondered.

 

"All that I know..there's a war going on. The dark..every one of them wants us dead." Mike took a deep breath, trying to let it all sink in for himself, "There is always a winner in war. So our future is untold for all of us." Mike tapped his feet under the table, trying to stop his legs strangely trembling.

 

"The dark huh...what are they like?" Gexln asked. The one thing he had learnt during his time at the Academy was that he possessed control over darkness. He could manipulate it, use it to injure people. Maybe that's why people treated me differently he thought to himself sadly.

 

"I'm not sure, that's a good question though. Everybody has their own perspective. I mean, example, one guy might think their awesome, and the other thinks their ruthless and cold. That's how choosing sides is. But if one cannot control darkness.." Mike hoped that Gexln knew the rest, because he really didn't feel like explaining what happens.

 

"If one can't control their darkness...it controls them. They lose their free will and become slaves to the very darkness they craved" Gexln finished. But that won't happen to me he thought confidently. He thought for a brief moment. "Hmm...what if someone was to gain complete control over it though?" he questioned. Secretly, he'd been wondering that for a long time. He had complete control..or so he thought, and he often wondered what the consequences would be.

 

"They would most likely be extremely powerful, if I had to guess. But some may think they have complete control, and lose themselves, because they think nothing can stop them. Somebody with legitimate complete control..wouldn't want to get in a fight with him." he replied, Wonder why he's asking. It does make me wonder though..

 

"Oh i don't know about that. I imagine it'd be quite fun to fight someone with darkness within their heart" Gexln stated casually.

 

"Like I said, everybody has their own opinions. It would be fun at first, I must admit, but after a while-.." Mike replied, but he stopped there, Hmm..I wonder. I really do. "Things may get out of hand." he finished.

 

"Unpredictability is what keeps things fresh" Gexln stated. He looked around the room quickly, just to take in his surroundings once more. No sign of the figure he mentioned...weird he thought to himself.

 

"That is true..but still, ahh, I guess your right." he said, Is that guy going to kill me tonight or something? Mike asked himself, remembering that creature. Then he felt something whisper in his ear, the creature thing, Foolish mortal. I wish to have a discussion while you sleep. I thought at least YOU would have that much common sense. Tell the boy, and I shall have your heart. and then Mike felt something leave the room, dissolve into nothing. Mike shook slightly, but besides that he stayed silent and looked around the room, focusing on a painting on the wall.

 

"A world of white and a stone monolith..." Mixt repeated as he thought 'Could she have seen the gate? It is hard to tell. She doesn't seem to have seen it open, otherwise she would call it a gate or a door rather than a monolith. It is too soon to tell.' With a look around the pantry room he found a pen used for inventory and pulled off a blank sheet. He drew a quick picture of an Ouroboros and asked, "Does your tattoo look anything like this?"

" Well sort of, not as cleanly printed as that, more edgyand without the star in the middle. It has some other sort of symbol in the middle."
Phisoxa said pulling the strap of her dress over modestly to reveal the tattoo which was smiliar in size of that except it was black and hadtwin dragons.
" don't remember ever having it before. When I woke up from the dream it was branded in the same exact place the dream depicted it, do you think its some sort of magic or do you have any idea who might have something to do with it?"

 

"I really don't know. The symbol I showed you is known as Ouroboros. The dragon eating it's own tail. A symbol of the circle of life. Your tattoo isn't an Ouroboros, but it does have striking similarity. A dragon duality spun in a circle." As Mixt said this he was sketching out her tattoo onto the paper as well, though he did not take a second glance at the tattoo until after he finished to confirm he had it right. Content that he did, Mixt folded it up and put it in his pocket. "Maybe I can find an answer for you when I get into research again."

 

" Ah okay, Its just, I have a feeling that things are going to get complicated soon, not only with the new war coming soon. But lately I have been something strange has been going as if something else is lurking around besides the already obvious threat of the darkness. As if something higher then light and dark is at work here. It makes me shudder just to think about it. . ."
Phisoxa said as she walked out of the room , passing him by swiftly as she re-entered the dining room.
