this could be the worse remake ever the karate kid is a classic movie now they are gonna ruin it it's the same plot but they go to hong kong and the kid is a 10 year old who looks like little bow wow and the tec is WTF jackie CHAN!
Well if you're going to take on the kid that's beatin' you up, you might as well go all out and get Jackie to train you.
As much as i like Jackie Chan, when i heard about this i wanted to facepalm. xD Jackie Chan always offers good, entertaining fight scenes, but the kid? Dunno. Doubt i'll see it.
Have any of you actually seen the trailer for this? It doesn't look that bad at all. I'm definitely going to be seeing this movie. Plus I actually like that kid, he's not the typical gangsta black kid actor we see a lot.
Kid may actually deliver, considering his father. Besides, he's already in decent shape to be a 'karate kid'. I doubt they'll use much special effects for him, and he'll probably do his own stunts so...who knows?
the only reason why he got beat up in the trailer is because he wore a Lions T shirt. It looks different, but at least Jackie Chan is finally getting a serious role again
The movie doesn't look that bad actually. I'll definitely go see it. But as much as I love Jackie Chan, nobody can replace Pat Morita.
Jackie Chan is getting old IMO. Yes, I'm a HUGE Martial Arts movie fan... But anyways, the trailer isn't looking so bad. I have no doubt that Jackie Chan is going to be playing the "clowny" role in this one anyhow.
I actually think this might be a decent film. I wouldn't say it's a remake more like a retelling as you can tell by just looking at the cast. If it was a remake it'd be some fresh out of Disney or another young white annoying celebrity factory as the lead, it'd be all bright and colourful and Jackie Chan would be dressed EXACTLY the same as Mr. Miyagi. Also, anyone else think that kid looks like Riley Freeman from The Boondocks?
