The Hollywood Curse.

Okay, I know the tittle sounds silly, but does anyone believe in it?

For those who don't know they call it a curse in Hollywood because of all the strange things that have happened including the deaths of the people related to to the films such as

1. The Dark Knight (rumored to be the worst curse)
2. The Superman Curse

well that's all I can think of right now, but seriously. Do you guys think that there is paranormal reason why there's so much bad luck and death surrounding these 2 epic movies?

 

Huh... I really never paid much attention to it before. Sounds interesting. I don't think there's actually a curse like that though... or even a curse at all.

 

then I guess the deaths of George Reeves (Played Superman on the show) Christopher Reeve (Played Superman in the movie) and Lee Quigley (played Baby Superman) were all coincidences?

 

There's a curse revolving around the Dark Night?

yea. It made #1 on the most cursed movie. Heath's death of course, Chirstian Bale's arrest and Morgan Freeman's car accident.

I think the most unluckiest one is The Superman Curse. Everyone whose played him has died. The only one whose survived is the one from Superman Returns.

 

I would believe that their is a curse. To me it is like really believable.

 

Whatever, I don't think there is a curse, the actors just died......which is sad enough, but then people say there is a curse.....i don't think its true.

 

I've heard of this curse before, but i don't by into it. A series of problems plague Quantam of Solace yet they were accidents not work of curses. If a curse is started with the death of an actor or actress, then Westward Ho! and the Crow are also cursed. I suppose you could say that any movie or tv show working on the Universal Studios lot are now cursed following the fire.

 

Well obviously since the actor for Superman returns didn't die, I don't think there is a Curse. It really just is bad luck I suppose.

 

The Hollywood curse sounds interesting. If you knew why it's called "hollywood" it might make even more sense. Loooool.

 

Coincidence and nothing more. As is applied to many things, the human brain works by recognising patterns in an attempt to order the world. That is all we are seeing.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Macbeth and the whole superstition around that (which was started by King Richard? when he banned it because it showed the death of a king, which was seen as blasphemous as the Royal Family was supposed to rule by divine right.

 

I am surprised you missed mentioning Poltergeist.

There have always been rumours of certain films and productions being cursed, however I don't believe that.

Instead I think it is just down to misfortune and coincidence. Afterall, death is something that is happening constantly and continuously around us as a part of life. It is just that when it occurs in Hollywood and to celebrities, the media covers it a lot more than the death/misfortune of your everyday average person.

 

Exactly, the reason so many more "miracles" and "curses" are popping up is because we have a much faster and more widespread information gathering network. Also with them being celebrities it will be blown up in our minds much more.

 

actually I know all about that too. It's pretty sad what happened to Domonique Dunne and Heather O'Rourke. They were so young, but I guess ur right.

 

I'm not superstitious at all, so I really don't believe there's a curse at all. Just really, really bad luck. I will admit it's rather strange, though. But still, I don't think there's a curse.​

1. the Dark Knight wasn't a curse, everything that happened was too gapped and too few people where effected to be called a curse, because a curse is where similar things happen.

2. The Superman Curse is well, messed up. I don't believe in it I just think it has more to do with the amount of fame they get could cause problems in multiple and complex ways. Something like ego issues probibly.

 

I'm probably being stupid, but I don't get what you mean. Do you mean that the bigger the movie the bigger the chance of accidents etc?
