That's good to know. I read The Hobbit and loved it so much that when I got around to The Lord of the Rings, I couldn't get past how much Frodo sucked compared to Bilbo. As a result, I never finished those books and didn't watch any of the movies. Maybe I'll give this movie a chance.
I heard that they added a bunch of stuff to the plot and are making the one Hobbit book into a trilogy. And the lord of the rings wasn't horrible, It just had a lot of inconstancies.
Yes, but it mostly comes from stuff Tolkien actually wrote, they don' t make it all up. Going to see it tonight.
Yeeeeah I'm just gonna wait until the crowds at the theaters disperse... which might take a while, tbh. .-.
I refuse to watch this movie. It is a clear attempt at stealing people's money. Basically paying to see the same movie 3 times. MOVIE TICKETS ARE EXPENSIVE YA'KNOW.
I never said that The Lord of the Rings was terrible. I only said that I thought Frodo sucked, and only by comparison to Bilbo. I couldn't get past that, and so I couldn't get into the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Seriously, read a little more carefully next time.
Sorry about that, It just seemed like you knocked the whole series. But then again, you are right. Bilbo has more color as a character than Frodo. Frodo has one mind set and really gets boring throughout. you expect some sorta character development and you're sadly disappointed.
You didn't miss much, evil ring, war, than the ring is destroyed (Plot twist, Right?).[DOUBLEPOST=1355636241][/DOUBLEPOST] The Soundtrack is Amazing!, to bad they couldn't get the same guy for The hobbit.
The Hobbit was pretty much the perfect escapism method for me. It also gave me way too many chances to make bad "Well, that was our own unexpected journey!"-jokes whenever something slightly unusual happened. Also, courtesy of Tumblr:
