I haven't seen this kind of thread here, hope it's okay.

Basically, you're watching a movie/tv-show, and one or more of the actors seems familiar. Maybe you remember their name immediately, maybe you have to go check their other roles on the internet. Post here if that's ever happened to you.

A recent one for me: I was watching the Criminal Minds episode Soul Mates (4.12), and one of the unsubs sounded really familiar. Turns out it was the guy who voices Sephiroth. Damn, he was creepy (and weirdly enough, kinda gay xD).

Less than a week later, I see a Friends episode he was in O.O

Jane Lynch is a fairly good "Hey, it's that guy!" too. She's also in Criminal Minds (as Dr. Reid's schizophrenic mother), and I just saw a season one episode of Two and a Half Men where she was playing a children's therapist.

In The Last Airbender the guy who plays Sokka seemed oddly familiar to me and so I tried to figure out who he was. Turns out he was Jackson Rathbone form Twilight. Everyone I know called me out for not noticing it earlier. XD

Ohhh, that happened to me too xD But he looked really different (and he's barely heard in Twilight anyway), so that's kinda understandable. I didn't realise that Dev Patel (Zuko) was also in Skins, until I checked.

I actually didn't remember that Pattison played Cedric in Goblet of Fire until I re-watched it a bit after the whole Twilight-craze started, so I was a bit surprised there.

A few years back, my friends and I rented "Moulin Rouge" (which I hadn't seen yet at that point). Ewan McGregor plays the lead male role. I knew it was Obiwan from the Star Wars prequels but hadn't had his real name ingrained in my mind yet. So of course I was like, "That's what's his name." Now my friends and I have a joke that whenever we see a movie with McGregor in it, we say, "That's the guy from Moulin Rouge."

And it's funny that John Goodman was in two movies I rented together once and I didn't even know it until I watched them ("Princess and the Frog" and "Confessions of a Shopaholic").

Couple of months ago I was watching the movie "Untraceable"... and I kept wondering why does this one boy seem so familiar. After that I just forgot about it but then I watched another movie called "The House Bunny" (lol) and there he goes again, then I told myself to look up this guy on the movies page turns out his name is Colin Hanks, the son of one of my favorite actors: Tom Hanks :D

I'm horrible when it comes to actors. I know the character, so if I hear or see something, I go, "HEY! That's Jack Sparrow!" or "Wow! That sounds a lot like Ichigo off of Bleach!" but I can't match them up to a real live person. Yeah, I'm still trying to get the names down. But now I'm getting in the habit of looking up the character, finding the voice actor (or just regular actor) and remember the name...

Prepare to have your mind blown.

Well, seeing as I'm way into acting/voice acting--It borders on obsession now--I don't usually have moments like these. I'm always well-read on the work of popular VAs, and I can pick their voices out of a crowd, so there aren't many surprises to be had at this point.

    Except with Miyazaki films.

I had to watch the credits to figure that one out too. Same thing with Josh Hutcherson. I was like,

"What the...? Markl is Josh Hutcherson...? Man I fail." XP
