Nah, it's not bad. I think it's just that everybody does Star Wars in their own way, and that's not wrong or right.

Except your way is wrong and mine is right xD

Honestly, it's been years since I've seen a Star Wars. Except for the new one, I saw the prequels when they came out and the original trilogy before I turned eight. So I can't remember any details or anything. I've been meaning to rewatch, but my budding obsession with DC comics is more important to me

Where do the Star Wars comics fit in? Because there's a lot of those. And I'm fairly sure there's novelizations.

Okay, I officially feel like a bad fan. I think I should stop claiming Star Wars as one of my favorites things, since I know almost nothing about the comics and prequels and novelizations and television series. XD

    NO WAIT!

I read a Star Wars book once. I don't remember what it was called. It was about Anakin, and he was training under Obi Wan, and like, they teamed up with this other Master/Padawan team for a mission to some planet, and they had to catch like, this member of a Sith-Sympathetic group, that couldn't use the force but supported Sith, and the guy, like, cornered the market on... some product. And something about a planet that was about to be destroyed and a group of people who lived there and refused to leave. And I think there was a tsunami wave... And Anakin felt guilty because he messed up and the other Padawan got hurt and lost her lightsaber because of him. But that happened earlier. The tsunami was like, the climax. And then this guy that they were friends with throughout most of the story turned out to BE the member of the group they were supposed to catch, and he tricked Anakin into drinking drugged tea or something, and Obi-Wan had to burst in and save him from the group, who were gonna turn Anakin in to the Sith to gain popularity. I think.

I read it like, ten years ago, so I don't remember many details. XD

Anything that isn't the movies or TV series isn't canon anymore since the Disney takeover. Which is really irritating because a lot of the EU stuff was amazing.

You know, I've heard a lot of mixed reports on this. A lot of people take your stand, which is that it's irritating they decanonized (And yes, I know that's not really a word) the EU stuff, but I've also heard lots of people say it's about time it happened because according to them, the EU stuff so contradict the movies that they just don't merge anymore. Honestly, having heard the whole 'contradiction' angle for so long, that's one reason I never sought out any of the EU books or comics. At this point, I don't know what to believe. XD

EVERYTHING I'VE ALWAYS KNOWN ABOUT STAR WARS IS A LIIIIIIIIIIE! XD

I'm sure some of it no longer fit, but The Force Unleashed, the KOTOR series, they both fit perfectly and there was really no need to erase them too. I understand the need to erase the novels set after the movies because obviously they'd then have to either just adapt those novels into movies and accept that some people would already know what happens and spoil it for everyone else (like people have done with Game of Thrones) or make the new movies sequels to those novels, and risk losing audience because they don't know what happened in the novels and are just totally lost. But I just feel that stuff set before the movies or in-between them really didn't get in the way at all.

That and I'm just really salty about Force Unleashed not being canon because I was a huge fan of those two games.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. I can totes accept that logic. :) You know, my husband wants me to play the Force Unleashed games. I take it you recommend them?

They're really great games and have amazing story, but some of the fun is cut off because the third game in the trilogy never got made. The company making them went under really early on.
Though they still do an amazing job of making you really feel like you're in control of a powerful force-user so if that's a thing that appeals to you, absolutely play them.

Anything written before April 25 2014 is no longer canon in the Star Wars universe, and anything written after fits in where it says in the story. Which is bad because there was a lot of cool stuff, as Pine said, and it's just a middle finger to those who have learned the lore that's now basically irrelevant.

I'm still upset Mara Jade Skywalker isn't canon anymore >:c

Force Unleashed was retconned because Disney didn't want any guidelines for the Rebels storyline.

Honestly I feel like they're trying to make the Rebel Alliance have a connection to Ahsoka instead of Galen Marek, I mean two lightsabers? Former apprentices of Darth Vader? Ahsoka's suddenly in Rebels for no real reason?

Hey, you can be a fan of something without knowing every little thing about it. I know people who are Batman fans and have never read a comic in their life. You're just a fan of the medium you're familiar with and if you decide to go deeper, it's up to you. It's like going through school. You have your high school education. If you decide to go Bachelors, Masters, Trade certificate, it's up to you, but you're still educated.

Hm. I use a lot of metaphors...

That really sucks. That happened to DC too except everything went from good to terrible and there's so many holes in the story that will probably never get filled. And we lost a lot of good characters like Miss Martian and we just got Renee Montoya and Steph Brown and Cass Cain back. Four years of nothing from my favourite Batgirl. For shame DC.

Since HoT has asked me to be part of something on here, I might be sticking around for a lot longer than intended after all. Unfortunately, it seems you're stuck with me indefinitely again.

All my old pirates are getting back together! Woo! Everyone, let's raise a toast to returning members and old members alike, and Star Wars for the heck of it. XD

*Raises glass of Pibb Xtra* Oh yeah, I don't drink Coca-Cola anymore, it started tasting gross, so for awhile I could only drink Pepsi, and now that's gross, so now I only drink Pibb Xtra and the occasional Sprite. XD Just to keep everyone updated on my beverage preferences for no real reason, pretending someone even sort of cares. XD

KOTOR is what you might call Broad Strokes canon to the new canon--it's not confirmed one way or the other, and it fits...and elements of it are working their way into canon, actually.

In Star Wars Rebels, Leia gives some cruisers from the KOTOR era to the rebellion, and supplementary info for The Force Awakens details the design for Kylo Ren's lightsaber's as dating back to the Great Scourge of Malachor; Malachor V was a planet with a violent history depicted in KOTOR. And protagonist Revan was almost featured in an episode of The Clone Wars.

Yup! We're always recruiting! Though, it does seem, in fact, that you've been recruited before. Not only are you already on the crew roster, but you're on the active list. XD
    Welcome back, Teddy! :)

Not yet. It's not out in Canada until tomorrow. A friend and I are going on Sunday.

Ah Cap'n. Your beverage tastes are ever changing. *smiles fondly* *raises Coke for the toast* I don't think we even have Pibb Xtra up here... Hm.

lol, yeah, idk what it is. XD I still own one of my old Dr. Pepper t-shirts (I say one because I owned a total of three different ones when I liked Dr. Pepper) and I think my old Coca-Cola shirt is around somewhere. But after I stopped liking Coke, I stopped buying t-shirts about soda, because I realized my likes would keep shifting, and I never like advertising something I don't like. Silly, I know, but true. It makes me feel like a faker. XD

    INCREDIBLE.

That rank. I love it so much.

Should I make something for my sig, or is someone here already on duty for that?
