The Game

Aly thought, then nodded. "Okay. Two people are better then one. Besides, everyone deserves a home." she added, smiling.

 

Nox smiled, "thanks lets get going okay."

 

Aly nodded, then stood up. "So how far is this again?"

 

"Only a few more miles to the rail road," Nox said. He began to walk at a steady pace.

 

She shrugged, then followed him. Obviously he wasn't a talker. That was fine by her. She hadn't been around another person in months. It surprised her she could still speak normally.

 

"So where are you from Aly," Nox asked.

 

"North." she replied absently, watching the road.

 

"I'm from Darkra," Nox said not sounding to proud of it.

 

She looked up, smiling at his tone. "That's very nice." she murmured, tying her hair back. "Why did you leave?"

 

"They needed feild medics for the soilders," Nox said sighing, "and I had enough medical experance to be one."

 

She nodded sympathetically, her eyes sad. It was hard enough to be a soldier, but to have to try to help the soldiers, then watch them die before your eyes was even worse. Especially when they were close to you, people you knew. "How long did you do that?" she asked, playing with a bit of her hair.

 

"I've been here for three years. I was part of the small reniforcement group that came in at the end of the war," Nox said as he climed up a rock.

 

She looked up, surprised at that. "But..didn't they all die?" she asked quietly, shaken out of her thoughts. She could still smell the fear and blood...she shook her head, letting the memory go.

 

"No the Empire abanodon all of their soilders here," Nox said, "the Emperor will claim that were all dead from the radiation.

 

She nodded, sliding back into her deep thoughts. "So technically you and me dont' exist..." she murmured, thinking about the implications of this.

 

"Yeah basicaly," Nox said. He extended a hand out to help her up.

BIC: Aly smiled, then took it. "I don't know if that's a good or bad thing." she murmured, slowly standing up. The dizziness that accompayned it was normal, but she wavered nonetheless.

 

"So Aly what did you do before all of this," Nox asked as they walked pass a pool of water that didn't look safe to drink.

 

She picked up a rock and gently skipped it into the pool, watching the ripples. "I lived at home. I took up travelng after my parents died, and haven't looked back." She left out her part in the armies, it wasn't much, and it didn't help to bring back dead memories.

 

Nox could make something out in the distance, "I think we've made it to the railroad."
