The Game

Nox kept his sights on the tracks. He hoped for a few more miles on the thing but the dials were telling him no.

 

Aly spoke up. "I still think we should jump." she said, fingering a strand of hair. She knew they wouldnt be stopping soon, but he had to go and say differently.

 

'Why were not in any danger and it's better and faster than walking,' Nox said, 'besides we're moving to fast we'd break a bone.'

 

Aly looked up at him, her eyes searching, piercing. "Are you afraid to break a bone?" she asked, considering the option. She herself wasn't a stranger to pain, but she had figured out soon after she had left home that most people were afraid of it. Sighing, she pushed her hair back from her face. "It's not a bad thing to be."

 

"The train will evenchuly stop it'll run out of fuel," Nox said looking at the dails, "wish we could take it all the way to Area 3."

 

She shrugged, touching the rusted window with a small finger. "Can't win everything." she murmured, more to herself then him. "That's life." her finger found a small sharp corner, and she winced as it opened an even smaller cut. That's the thing about being human. It was so easy to get hurt.

 

OC: is it just me or is very RP were in together always end up to just be us

Nox leaned back in the chair and relaxed he took out a small deck of cards. They were stained with dirt and looked like they had gotton wet before.

 

OOC: It's not just you.

BIC: Aly raised a delicate eyebrow, her eyes sparkling. "What's this? A proper card game to pass the time?" She shook her head. "And here I thought men hated surprises, or only liked the ones that ended in a fight to the death. I won't make that mistake again."

 

"Only thing left of the stuff I brought with me to the army," Nox said, "You know any good games."

 

Aly shook her head. "I never made it my business to learn any games." she murmured, closing her eyes and leaning back. "Let me know when we get there. I'm going to sleep now." she wasn't going to, but she would see.

 

Nox a bit taken back. He put the cards away and stared out the window.
