The Final War, Light Vs Dark

Gexln frowned as he was being carried. How was she strong enough to carry him? Mystics weren't that strong surely? "Ananta I'm injured not crippled, I can walk on my own" he said, beginning to squirm. However, the healer's grip was as strong as her determination, and he found himself unable to get out. He turned his attention to Xero as he was being carried. "Xero, this is Ananta. My other used to know her, waaaaay back when. She's still" he said, making another attempt to get free. No dice. "as stubborn as she used to be, clearly" he said, giving up and letting himself slump over her shoulder. There was no getting out of this situation, it seemed.​

 

As R laid in the bed next to Xepphiras, he felt a quiver at his back. As her turned around, he saw the red-haired girl shaking and sweating in her sleep, obviously have some sort of nightmare. While he was attuned with things involving the heart, it didn't extend far enough to banish the nightmares of another. Still, it pained him to think that there was nothing he could do for the girl. All he could do was comfort her. Outstretching his fairly long arms, he wrapped them around and held her close. Though she was in a hospital gown, her back was exposed and pressed against his chest. Her skin was warm and soft, like the petal of a flower. She felt so frail, so delicate. All this did was give him more motivation to emerge victorious over kingdom hearts. He wasn't fighting for himself. He had something to protect. She was no longer just a pupil to him. She was...more than that.​

 

"So I take it you're a nobody then?" she commented on Gexln mentioning his somebody and not himself. "How the heck did you get this injury anyway?" she asked, dropping him onto the bed. She moved a curtain around his bed and took off Gexln's shirt. It looked a lot worse than she thought it would. "Okay, how did this happen?" she asked, getting ready to heal him. "It might hurt. Mostly because of your bones regrowing...because I'm pretty sure you've got at least four broken ribs." she said, frowning at him. Working her magic, she looked out the window and sighed. "That...Xepphiras...you know her?" she asked Gexln. "I'm asking because of some things she told me...and well...I'm doubting whether or not the darkness is all that bad." she continued. "Like, there are a few dark people that have worked with us, so why should I try and injure them?" she frowned greatly, watching as Gexln's skin began to scar up where he had injuries. "Makes me think that not all of you nobodies and darks are as bad as you seem to be." she sighed.

Anta blinked at Eric. "Oh...wow, okay." he crossed his arms. Tapping his chin, he turned to see Karina run off with both of her kids. "Wait a second!" he said, walking off after her. "Karina!" he called, catching up and tugged on her shirt. "Don't you remember me...?" he asked her, walking alongside her now. "And um...I can heal Dusk and Dawn. They aren't too injured...I mean, I already healed Dawn once before..." he blushed, remembering the events in the cave. He gulped when he remembered that he had to pull her shirt up...he decided to not mention that to Karina. He would die if she slapped him. "And well...I wanted to tell you something, too, while I healed them, ma'am." he said, a look of determination on his face.

Gexln looked down at the injury as it was healing. The wonders of healing magic never ceased to amaze him. He almost wish he knew it himself, really. Remembering how he got the injury, he turned his head to the side, avoiding eye contact with Ananta. He knew he had placed himself in harm's way to protect Xero, and that was how he got it, but he had never liked admitting he could be injured. "I got stabbed through the chest while I was trying to fight off hundreds of keyblade wielders" Gexln stated. It was true, sort of, he really had been fighting off hundreds if not thousands of keyblade wielders under Xindai's control, he just hadn't been doing it alone.

The Nobody shifted around a little where he was sitting, trying to make himself a little more comfortable. "I do know Xepphiras, kinda. All I know is she seems into R, and he doesn't seem to mind. She's helped us out in a couple of fights too, but other than that she doesn't seem to do a lot" he said, answering her question.

At her last comment though, about Nobodies and darks not being so bad, he did turn back to face her. "A...friend of mine once told me, just because a person is affiliated with the darkness, doesn't make them bad. It's how you use it that determines who you are" the Nobody of the Dark said, a slight tone of sadness in his voice as he thought of Kaxar. The loss of her still stung as much as if it had happened just moments ago. "There was a time, shortly after I became a Nobody..I couldn't control my own darkness, and I killed just for the hell of it. Those were dark times, no pun intended, and to some extent I regret them, but I've come to accept it's just who I am" the man said, showing just the slightest hint of remorse.​

 

As eager as Kross was to finally have some sort of ground against Omega, he had promised himself long ago that no more sacrifices would be made to that monster known as Kingdom Hearts. He only crossed his arms and reclined against a nearby wall. He only regarded the rest of his allies with an incline of his head but paid no more a mind to them, they could do what they wanted, he didn't intend to die. He was just going to help, he never wanted to be involved in this battle any more than that.​

Xero frowned at Gexln as he seemed to not like the idea of getting other help for some reason. She was then being pulled away by Gexln's somebody's friend Ananta. They were brought into a room behind a curtain where there were beds. Xero was a bit hesitant for a moment before sitting down on one of them.

Xero sat there as she listened to Gexln speak. As soon as he seemed to talk about Kaxar she heard the sadness in his voice. She looked down for a moment before speaking quietly as if to herself, "No... You're more than that... To me at least..."

 

R held Xepphiras close to him, allowing her to rest her head on his chest. "No, do as you will" He said softly, stroking her hair. It was odd...He was a heartless. He was a killer by instinct. He had since overcome his violent nature and began directing it toward a purpose. Even still...It felt strange laying here with her. He was at peace. As she dozed back off to sleep, her hair barely covered one of her closed eyes. She was indeed beautiful. The grasp of exhaustion flowed over him. His eyes became heavy with sleep. He had work to do, but for the moment, he would give in and lay here. Here with her. He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. Thanks to the girl next to him, for the first time in years, he was at ease. ​

 

Gexln's words permeated her brain and heart. "You are a nobody and yet you are showing some type of remorse. Both of you are. Which makes me wonder a few things. Are Nobodies truly without hearts? Can they truly go on and never have a heart and only mimic the feeling?" Ananta spoke, trying to understand what was going on. "Or can they actually have hearts once again if they are around those with hearts long enough? That is what I'm wondering. My wondering is confirmed when I see those who are Nobodies speaking strongly of certain things. And Xepphiras confirmed my thoughts, what with her words and all. R speaks with emotion for her, but that is something I'm not sure of." To tell the truth, Ananta wasn't sure if he was a Heartless, a person, or a Nobody. Ananta finished healing Gexln and looked at him. "Okay, you look better now. You're always going to have that scar on your chest, but other than that you should be fine." she said, poking at the large scar where he was stabbed. "I'll heal your friend, Xero, now." she said, walking over to her. "Why so blue? Where are you injured, if at all?" she asked Xero.


"Hey don't be mean to me. I haven't done anything wrong, I promise!" he said, raising his hands up. They arrived in one of the many rooms and he shut the door behind them. He sat on the bed next to Dawn and looked at Karina. "What I wanted to tell you isn't really that big of a deal and you don't have to tell me your thoughts yet but..." Anta said, clearing his throat. He wasn't sure what or how he could tell Karina that he wanted to be with Dawn forever. He even promised her he'd protect her, or at least he thought he did, and that was pretty important to him. "I kinda asked Dawn if someday she'd let me be hers forever. I'm not exactly the strongest of guys, but she makes up for it. She's got your strength. Now, I'm not the best healer, but I can really hurt stuff with my magic. But that's just how our world is. Girls in the Seven Sages' families are destined to be healers or a Sage if they're the youngest daughter. Boys are destined to be defenders and protect the Seven Sages." he told her. "So what I'm asking is if you'd give me your approval or not. I haven't asked Eon yet...but I'm asking because my mom trusts you and Eon and Dawn and Dusk. That's why Dawn, Dusk, and I grew up together. Either it was me staying with them or them staying with us, we practically were raised as family. But I care for Dawn more than a sibling." he finished. He stood and bowed down on the ground.

Gexln sat rather still, simply watching. "Heart or no heart, it doesn't change anything. I'm not going to let anybody hurt Xero. My somebody, he was an idiot. A fool, for the most part. I may be like him in some ways, but while he was generally joking around, i'm always training. Practicing, getting stronger. To protect the things..to protect the people, that I care about" Gexln said, looking right at Xero as he spoke. It was true, he did care about her, but he had no doubt that she knew that already. What had started off as being forced to work with each other had turned into something more, something he wasn't about to let slip away from him the same way Kaxar had.

Gexln hopped off where he had been sitting and pulled on his shirt once again. His chest felt like it was completely fine, he couldn't feel the slightest tingle or bolt of pain while he turned at all, yet the scar remained. It would always remain as a reminder to him of what he had nearly lost, what he had risked his own life to protect. He walked over next to Xero and simply stood there, watching. Cautiously he reached for her hand and slid his fingers in between hers, now holding her hand as he looked her straight in the eye. "Whether we get help or not, we'll beat this Omega thing. I'll do it myself if I have to, I promise you that" he vowed, meaning every word he said.​

Xero looked at Ananta, "I'm.. uh.. fine really. I was recently healed a while ago actually..." She said looking at the ground. She then looked at Gexln as he looked at her while he spoke. Xero could feel her eyes beginning to fill with tears a bit. She watched him walk over to her and then intertwine his fingers with hers. Her stomach had a tingling feeling and her face became flushed as she looked back up at Gexln, "Whether we get help or not, we'll beat this Omega thing. I'll do it myself if I have to, I promise you that" he said to her. Xero just sat there a bit stunned at this sudden show of emotions Gexln was showing, especially toward her. Xero felt that her eyes were full of tears as they now blurred her vision. She quickly wiped her eyes with her other hand as she let out a small laugh, "Don't get soft of me now Gexln... We still have a war to win." She said with a small smile.

 

Ananta heard Gexln walk over and speak with Xero. He even held her hand and made her cry. This reminded her of her late husband and brought a tear to her eye. It was true, they didn't have the best of relationships, but she was happy enough. She couldn't say the same for him, however, but she was happy at least. Placing her hands on her hips, she chuckled at the two. "I'll leave you two lovebirds alone then." she said. "Don't do anything stupid, alright?" she said, winking and walking away. Ananta closed the door and turned towards where Kross was standing. Looking further down the hall, she spied Anta, Karina, Dusk, and Dawn walking into a room. She almost wanted to follow them but she knew they'd be fine. They had Karina, if anybody were to attack, they'd probably die from a single punch from Karina. Ananta stepped slowly towards Kross until she was right in front of him. Kross had grown since their journeys years ago. He was now at least an inch taller than Ananta. Raising her hand, she checked the height difference and frowned. "Wow, you got taller. What did you do? And why is your hair white?" she asked him. The last time Ananta saw Kross, he had brown hair and was pretty short for a guy, now he's taller AND has white hair? "Did something happen? Tell me all about it." she smiled, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall with him.

 

For the first time in years, Gexln felt his face get red hot as he began blushing, and it was blatantly obvious. He hadn't expected Xero to react the way he did, and to some extent it did make him happier. "I..uh- that is.." he started, stuttering horribly as his mind tried to overcome what was going on. He turned away for a brief second, hoping to hide the blushing but he had a feeling it was too late. With a loud cough he cleared his throat as best he could. "Soft? Me? Never!" he exclaimed, still trying to hide it.

Unsure exactly what to say next, he sat down once again, but this time it was next to Xero. He may not have realized it before, but he had been somewhat hesitant with openly showing Xero how he felt about her. Maybe some part of the Nobody of the Dark feared rejection. His own feelings frightened him at times. Truth be told, he would rather face a thousand Ansem's than have a conversation with someone about his feelings, but maybe now things would be different, perhaps things would be easier. Then again, maybe they wouldn't be. He simply sat there in silence, still holding her hand, enjoying the warmth it brought to him. For the first time since he had become a Nobody, Gexln genuinely felt a smile come to his face. Despite the looming end of the worlds, and the agents of destruction, he was liking the way things were turning out.​

As Gexln began stuttering like an idiot, Xero couldn't help but let out a fit of laughter, "Liar." She said smiling at him. After Gexln sat next to her, Xero silently watched him for a bit and saw the smile appear on his face. It wasn't a normal smile though. It was different than the other smiles she saw him make before. Maybe one that actually ment something. Xero looked away for a moment with a smile of her own before turning back and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Gexln nearly fell backwards and onto the ground as he got kissed on the cheek. Well, so much for fear of rejection. That was gone, out the window, just like every other doubt about him and Xero. If he hadn't meant what he said about defeating Omega, he certainly did now. Gexln's determination was stronger than the toughest weapon forged, unable to be broken, when he really set his mind on something that mattered to him. The way he felt right then, the determination inside of him, Kingdom Hearts could throw a thousand Agents at him and he'd find a way to bring them down. He sat there for a few more moments, simply enjoying the moment, still blushing like mad.

After a few more minutes of simply sitting there in silence, he turned to look at Xero. The fear of rejection almost gone, it was now replaced by another. Nervousness. What if things went bad? What if he screwed up? He nearly let go of Xero's hand and slapped his own face. He had to pull it together. Living in the moment. What was the difference between thinking on his feet in battle, as compared to now? In battle, he could tear people to shreds, but he didn't think Xero would like that very much, that was a pretty big difference.

Gently, he took Xero's other hand in his, and for a brief moment he simply stared at her. She was beautiful, she always had been, hadn't she? Everything about her just plain screamed attractive, from the smile on her face to simply the way her voice sounded as she spoke. Leaning forward slowly, he gave her every opportunity to back away, but she didn't. Things were going well. Leaning forward just a little more, he locked lips with her in a full and passionate kiss, simply holding hands with her as he let the moment take him away. Her lips were warmer than he expected, but he liked it, and he was pleasantly surprised to find she was kissing him back. A swirl of emotions went around in his head, both of affection and joy. The feeling of happiness, of warmth before, was only getting stronger, in fact if he wasn't kissing her at that moment he would probably have the goofiest grin on his face.

After a short time, they broke apart. He broke it apart rather than her, despite every bone in his body screaming at him to keep going, to not let the kiss end. He sat there for a few moments, almost in awe of what had happened. It wasn't his first kiss, but it was the first time he had cared for someone as much as he did for Xero, that much was certain. He wanted to say more, but his mouth just simply couldn't find the words. He wanted to do it again, and he wasn't afraid to do it again, but like it or not the worlds were at stake, and sitting around kissing the girl he cared about wasn't going to change that. He stood up, and gave another smile towards Xero. Without a doubt, the two were closer now, and that brought great relief to the Nobody of the Dark. He mouthed the words 'be right back' to her, before turning and taking a step outside of the room, intending to continue out, but stopped and gave a very confused look towards Cid and the others, who seemed to be piled up and..had some of them been trying to listen in?​

Xero let out a giggle as she saw Gexln's face get red. She went silent as he suddenly just stared at her and then began getting closer to her face. She was frozen in place as her breathing pace increased, should she pull back or what? She didn't know, she was too confused to do anything right now. It wasn't a bad feeling, it was more anxious, but happy. When Gexln's lips touched hers her eyes widened a bit in shock. He was... Gentle and passionate; Something she never saw from him before, if not ever. Her eyes fluttered closed as she then kissed him back, one of her hands let go of his and caressed his cheek.

When Gexln pulled back she couldn't help but feel a bit sad, but there was no time to be making out right now. Xero opened her eyes and looked into his for a moment before he stood up and smiled at her. She only smiled back at him and he told her that he'd be right back.

 

Gexln stood there for a bit, feeling very much judged. "So you were listening!" he accused loudly, and started to take a couple of steps towards the group, before he realized Yuffie wasn't actually looking at him, but the computer Cid had. He moved across to stand behind everyone, but peered over Cid's shoulder to see what was going on. Sure enough, he saw the various posts. He didn't like the idea of suddenly everybody knowing exactly what he had been doing. Try as he might, he just couldn't see past the banner.

"Ew, so that's what I look like? Why am I in that jumping pose? I never do that! And...when did I get a tattoo of Xero's name on me?!" he exclaimed, now lifting up the bottom of his shirt and searching for the Xero watermark on him. After a brief moment he realized he couldn't see it, so maybe it was just a glitch. "And..my text is so boring!" he stated with enthusiasm.

Done with looking at the screen, he tore his eyes away from it. "That information is private! Get rid of it now or i'll get rid of it for you!" he demanded, practically stamping his foot in a tantrum over it. He turned away and crossed his arms, clearly annoyed by what he had seen and what they had done. "If you want to save the worlds, you're going to need to be alive, and that's just not going to be the case if you don't get rid of that right now" he threatened.​

 

Kross only caught the tail end of Anta, karina and the rest's conversation. he lost interest at that point so he hung his head and closed his eyes, drifting in peace. At least he was until he heard footsteps approach him. He opened his eyes to see Ananta approach him. He nodded in greeted, smiling briefly before looking away again. He kept quiet, she was speaking to him and he was paying attention."Too many questions."He murmured and looked up at her."I'm older now, you should expect a little height to come with it."He said, taking some of his white hair, pulling it a bit."I don't know why THIS is thought..Maybe a side effect..ugh.."He trailed off, quickly looking to the side. This was uncomfortable already."I don't want to talk about it."He said. He looked at her."...How is your life going? That boy over there..he's your son isn't he..I missed so much."He said.​
