The Final War, Light Vs Dark

Gritting her teeth at the nonsense spewed from Caleb's mouth, as well as Enox's, she stood there. "I have more important matters to deal with. Caleb can unbind you, I just hope he doesn't do anything too crazy." she spoke, turning towards the person half stuck in the ground. Running towards the girl and stopping. Taking a look at the current situation, Ananta had to ask. "So, how did this happen to you anyway?" she knelt down and prodded the girls head. This was funny, but also a little serious. If she was stuck, her legs may have been crushed once whatever was holding her in place disappeared and allowed the natural ground to return. Or maybe it just formed around her legs very tightly. Who's to say? The only thing that made any sense was trying to get her out, but she just needed to ask a few questions before doing so.

Anta watched as Dawn leaped off the bike. Shaking his head, he turned back around towards the two. Stopping next to them, he patted the seat. "This bike is plenty big for shorties like you guys, you know. I'm not even that big, but that's not the point. We gotta follow that guy and stop him. He speaks in rhymes and I don't have the time for that. We gotta pull a trick out of our hat and stop him in his tracks with many attacks." Now Anta was talking in rhymes. Slapping himself, he said. "Ow."

Kross kept his pace, hearing screaming in the distance. When he heard it, he could see a town ahead, the heartless chasing after people and slashing them, Neoshadows..those abomination that injured him and put him into a coma. He grit his teeth and his Odin keyblade appeared."They're in trouble--!"He whispered, forgetting about his well being for the sake of others. He ran and slid to a stop in the middle of the street, brown eyes scanning around at the heartless as his blade was held tightly in his hands. "All right, time to stretch.."He said, his keyblade shining orange as he fired a Firaga that compressed when it hit a neoshadow, then exploded into a large orb of fire. The neoshadows were thrown into the air, and he went to work, leaping up and slashing them apart one by one.

 

R, now in his newly empowered state, set his gaze on Louvel. For a moment, he was completely still and silent as the grave. The very winds around him seemed still. His inverted eyes delivered a piercing gaze. It only lasted a second, but time seemed to stretch forever, bending under the presence of this man. At this moment, he was neither of the light nor the dark. It seemed as though he was both, yet neither at the same time. The wound he had been inflicted with was shortly closed through this "white darkness". The same substance ran down his arm, no...His arm was becoming it. Once the limb was entirely white, it formed into a large claw which looked sharp enough to cut through steel without pause. All at once, from complete stillness to blinding speed, he was ontop of Excalibur's bearer.


The dark creator smirked. "But my dear Lysa, i am a man of my word. While you may doubt my motives, I always deliver what i promise. What i ask in return is simple. In fact, helping me will even serve your own benefit. Aid me in this fight. Those who you set out to destroy are my foes as well." There was an undeniable lure to his words. A sweet seduction that went far beyond the realm of a simple golden tongue. The sound was a parasite that attached itself to your very mind, digging into your thoughts and eating away at you until you gave in and accepted his will as correct. In truth, this indoctrination was one of Xindai's most useful capabilities. To destroy your opponents utterly, or to turn them to your side, and use them. "I give to those what they so desperately want, but lack the strength to gain themselves. So, what do you say, will you save the girl, or leave her to her fate?"

At the same time, he made a point of being aware of everything going on throughout the war. R's transformation could prove troublesome. Even Excalibur may not be able to bring him down, but even should it fail, he had his ace in the hole. In addition, his own force was becoming stronger and stronger. Speaking of which...It seemed Sabell had fallen to her sister, but she'd been spared due to Xero's lack of resolve. The transfer of thoughts was established.
'Xero has grown. Surpassed you in every way. Your life has only been saved because you are her sister. However...It doesn't have to remain that way. I've created power after power after power. I give power to the defeated. I give strength to the weak. Serve me, and the scales between you two will tip dramatically.' ​

I guess the decision makes sense, considering the fact that Lysa is only with the lights because of what happened to Sapphire))

Lysa pauses mid air, floating there, staring at Xindai. A flash goes through her mind, an image of Sapphire's form wreathed in darkness... there was no way she could trust Xindai, but if there was even a slight chance of restoring Sapphire... she had to take it. Lysa lowers her sword and nods, "you'll restore her? Completely?" she asks, the severed wing of her ship floating nearby as the girl struggles with conflicting desires within herself, rotating slowly as Lysa 'falls' onto the wing and stands there, her body rotating with its movements as she continues to watch Xindai, resolving to go along with him, at least until she knew more about what was going on. The way that his words seemed to flow like ink through her mind made her uneasy, and on her guard for changes in herself. Knowing that Xindai would already know about her reservations, she decided not to voice them, and meets his gaze, "alright... so what do you want me to do first?"

Sabell chuckled at Xindai's voice, and then it became laughter, "Xero, surpassing me?! Impossible! I am the Bladed Angel! Nothing can surpass my strength!" Sabell slammed her sword in the ground and slowly got up from where she fell. The mood she gave off was different now, her eyes looked fierce and enraged. Instead of the cocky attitude she had, she now seemed very annoyed and aggravated to the core.

Sabell adjusted her legs and made her swords form an X in front of her and said to Xindai, "But.. if you can give me even more power.." darkness began to violently fly around with the areoga circling around her, "Then I accept your offer." The darkness exploded around her and came to a halt as it soon came rushing back toward her and imploded. When the dark mist around Sabell cleared, black wings appeared behind her, except they were made of sword blades. Sabell's eyes were also blackened and hollow looking as darkness radiated around her. She gave Xero a full on death glare and said, "Fight me, and stop being so god damn weak!!"

Xero only looked at Sabell with watery eyes. She could only shake her head and say, "No.. please.. I don't want to fight anymore..." When Xero looked back up she suddenly felt the hilt of one of Sabell's swords slam into her stomach and knock her back a few feet. She skid to a stop on her side and coughed up a bit of blood. "I said, get up and FIGHT ME!!" Sabell shouted at Xero as she rushed toward her again, and hit her with a concussive blast of air. Xero was thrown back by the edge of the canyon that was near the fight between Gexln and Kel.

Xero only groaned in pain from Sabell's attacks. But she only lied there still refusing to fight. Sabell growled quite loudly from irritation and rushed toward Xero once more and this time with her swords out and ready to stab her.

Kaya's hug took Valinton by surprise and he just looked at her wide eyed. He awkwardly put an arm around her too not exactly sure what to do. "Thanks.. I guess."

 

Gexln's head turned at the sound of a thud nearby, followed by the light skidding sound. In the span of a few seconds, Gexln pulled back his attack so that it missed Kel by less than the width of a single hair, and leaped back a few feet. He then turned his attention completely to the sound. He recognized the person as Xero almost instantaneously, and she was clearly injured. Worse, she wasn't getting up. "Xero, don't just lay around, get up!" he shouted.

No response.

This was bad. He knew Xero well enough to know the girl had pretty good endurance, seeing her beaten up on the ground was something that both Gexln was both not used to and something that worried him. He had to do something, but what? He wanted to help Xero, but he was already battling Kel. Engaging another opponent would be sheer madness, complete stupidity, and probably get him killed. Only a complete and utter idiot would go for it.

Only seconds later, Gexln was already sprinting towards Xero.

Juliet could only stand in awe as Sabell underwent her transformation. It absolutely reeked of darkness, but yet Sabell seemed to maintain control. To control such an amount of darkness..well, Sabell certainly wasn't weak, that much was certain. She let out a small sigh when Xero was knocked away. She still wasn't liking protecting Xero anymore than she had to begin with, but for the sake of her father she would have to. Juliet rushed after Xero, hurrying behind her with her keyblade summoned and ready to attack should Sabell catch up to her. As she approached Xero, she saw Gexln also running towards her.

Juliet slowed down and eventually came to a stop beside Xero. She saw the somewhat worried expression in Gexln's eyes, and that in turn made her worry. There was no time to fret though, not while Sabell was still trying to kill the injured woman before her. "Hey, father, if you're wondering what injured her, it's that ***** with the bladed wings back over there" Juliet explained, gesturing over her shoulder, "and I don't think she's going to stop at that. I've tried holding her off, and I was doing okay, but somebody needs to make sure your girlfriend doesn't die, and I doubt some darkness obsessed psychopath is going to know all about healing magic, so you've got bodyguard duty" she teased.

Gexln was about to protest to Juliet's 'girlfriend' statement, but there was no time for that conversation. "Hey..Kel. I'm going to have to postpone our fight, I've got some serious ass-kicking to do right now, I'll get to yours later alright?" Gexln said over his shoulder loudly enough that Kel could clearly hear. If Kel said something in response, Gexln missed it, for he took off at an astonishing speed towards the direction of Sabell, miraculously beginning to tire out only now, but still having enough steam for one more fight in him.​

Sabell saw Gexln running toward her and she then put her swords in a defensive position as she slammed into him with the swords, "Get out of my way!!" She shouted as she pushed Gexln back with the force of how fast she was going, causing them to both skid closer to Xero and Juliet.

Xero weakly looked up to see Gexln running at Sabell, her eyes widened a bit and she attempted to quickly get up, "Gex-- AGH!" Xero felt a piercing pain in her stomach as she tried to move. Had Sabell hit her that hard with the hilt of her sword? Xero put a hand on her stomach and felt something warm and wet.. when she looked down she saw a puddle of blood around her, "W-what..?" Xero then realized that it wasn't the hilt that hit her, Sabell had stabbed her.

But.. how was Xero BLEEDING?! She usually bled out darkness, but she was bleeding BLOOD. How was this happening? Xero began to feel the pain from the wound and began almost hyperventilating.

'It seems that whatever was left of your heart released a bit of light when you refused to finish off your sister.. and is begining to 'rebuild' itself...' Ansem said. Xero just looked surprised, 'R-rebuild itself..? What..?'

 

Gexln was knocked out of the way of Sabell's path and back over to Xero. He couldn't help but glance down at her, a slight glimmer of hope that maybe she was recovering already. That glimmer of hope was crushed beneath the realization that she was not. Xero was certainly in no shape to fight Sabell, and Juliet was busy healing her, so there was only one way she was going to be protected. Determination set in his eyes, Gexln glared at Sabell. He had already lost Kaxar, he wasn't going to stand by and let someone kill Xero too.

He took a step forward now. Only a few feet away, Gexln could see every detail of the girl he was about to attack. The darkness, the blades, they all looked threatening. Had they met under different circumstances, perhaps Gexln would want to simply fight the warrior, to prove his strength, but not now. Not with Xero's life hanging in the balance. With a flick of the wrist, Gexln flung Darkness' Sorrow to the ground, causing it to stick into the ground, as he then held his hand out in front of him and summoned his keyblade. He may have been a Nobody of the Darkness, but his Somebody had once been a keyblade wielder, and one thing that Glen had learned was that the keyblade was a weapon of light, a weapon to fend off the darkness. "How about we find out how fast you move without those wings?" Gexln questioned as he took another step forward, raising the keyblade slightly.​

Sabell only eyed the young man that stood.before her with a hollow, yet deathly glare. She recognized him as the boy Xero seemed attatched to earlier. Sabell let out a small fit of laughter, "Do you really think that you stand a chance against me?" Sabell pointed one of her swords at Gexln as she spoke. As Gexln stabbed his weapon into the ground, Sabell gave him a puzzled look. Her confusement was answered by a Keyblade appearing in his hand a few moments after.

"How about we find out how fast you move without those wings?" A dark smirk appeared on Sabell's lips, "Don't think for a second that just because you're her toy..." Sabell gestured her head at Xero, "...that I won't hold back!" Sabell then flew towards Gexln at an alarming speed and casted a Dark Areoga around her just as she slashed at the air and sent two small "tornadoes" of darkness at Gexln. For if they hit, they'll explode on contact.

Xero lied on the ground in pain, and her eyes began to tear up again as she saw Gexln challenge Sabell. She knew the look Gexln gave Sabell, it usually ment that he would be ready to kill his target. Xero wished that she could go up to him and stop the fight herself, but she was too weak to walk.

"Gexln... Please.. don't do this.." Xero said quietly, for she hardly had the strength to speak anymore. She didn't want her sister to die, she couldn't bear it. But once she saw Sabell attack full on, her hopes of Gexln holding back were shattered.

 

A small grin formed on the nobody's mouth. He showed little emotion, but you could tell he was content with his newest recruit. He'd already planned out the remainder of the war. All that remained was to executed his plan. He'd use the power of his enemies to destroy them. Lysa, Your first task is to go through the Keyblade graveyard. Collect any combatant you see, regardless of faction, and bring them to the canyon. He paused for a moment before tossing her a mega-potion Oh and make sure everyone is functional. They'll need to be for what's to come. That last line sounded vauge, yet frightening. He glanced in the direction of the battle a short distance away. Sabell had indeed used the power granted to her and nearly killed her sister. However, the lovestruck fool came in to her rescue. Perhaps it was better this way. After all, he couldn't have Xero dying on him. Not before she'd served her purpose at least. ​

 

Well, a promise is a promise

Gexln opened his mouth to protest to the comment about him being a toy, but was momentarily silenced as Sabell began preparing the attack. Had he been more focused, perhaps he may have avoided the attack, but his mind was as worn out as his body was, and he turned to look at Xero as he heard her quietly say something; he could not make out what she had said, however. The tornadoes hit home, exploding in a painful manner and knocking the wind out of the young Nobody that had felt its power. Gexln flew backwards from the impact, skidding along the ground and away from the cliff, but grazing and bruising just about every inch of his body in the process. He groaned as he stood up. "Focus...gotta focus..BladeB**** has to die" Gexln muttered to himself.


Juliet, meanwhile, was furiously attempting to heal Xero as best as she could. After Xero quietly spoke, Juliet rapped her lightly on the forehead with the hilt of the keyblade. Not enough to cause any lasting damage, but the impact would definately be felt. "Hey, no talking! Save your strength!" came the advice. Tapping into the light side of her chaos further, Juliet began increasing the speed and strength of the healing magic she was pouring into Xero. In just a few minutes, the spell would surely be complete and Xero would be healed, but she had to wonder..would her father be able to hold Sabell off for that time?​

Sabell grined maniacally as her attack hit, "This power..." Sabell then began to have another laughing fit and looked over at Gexln. She then jumped high into the air and flapped her wings, making multiple blades fly toward Gexln at high speeds, "I will kill you, and then he'll give me even more power!"

"Ow!" Xero rubbed her head after Juliet hit her with the hilt of her Keyblade. She gave her a frown but then she looked away with a small smile, "You're Gexln's daughter alright.." she weakly said. Xero looked at her blood stained hands and tears began forming in her eyes again, "Why can't I be more like him...? Not hesitant to end someone's life even if they did something awful...? Even... If it were my sibling...?"

 

Lysa looks from Xindai, and then out around the battlefield, "wait... you mean you just want me to drag everyone? With my powers?" she asks, "no cold-blooded murders? No selling my soul to the devil?" The young woman seems to sigh with relief as she lowers herself to the scarred ground of the keyblade graveyard, light starting to bend around her body in strange ways as she alters the gravity around herself, the alteration enough to cause light to be sucked into her body, much like a black hole. Soon all that can be seen of her is a blurry, black outline. Moments later the inky blackness pours off Lysa's body and toward the canyon, which, from the outside, appears to grow darker as the gravity anomaly within it gains strength.

The ground around the keyblade graveyard begins to tremble as the forces of gravity twist and change, starting with dust and small pebbles, which skitter, pour, and fly toward the canyon. Any projectiles in the air, such as Sabell's blades, are bent from their flightpath and hurled toward the canyon, which would give Gexln, at least, a bit of a reprieve from his current engagement. The various, uncountable keyblades wedged into the earth begin to shake and vibrate as they are ripped, one by one, from the ground in which they had been planted, creating a temporary storm of whirling blades as they fly past the combatants and into the canyon.

In addition to this, the many combatants littered among the grounds would find the earth beneath them tilting, their hair would no longer fall straight down, but rather point directly at the canyon, loose articles of clothing would tug and threaten to fall off their owners, and the people themselves would find that they were, too, falling toward the canyon, as if the whole world had been turned on it's side. They could try to save themselves, perhaps by grabbing onto one of the keyblades still driven into the ground, but the handholds would soon be ripped from the earth by the same gravity that was pulling them all toward the canyon.

Neither Lysa or Xindai are unaffected by this, Lysa allowing herself to tumble gracefully through the air and into the canyon, her hair streaming behind her, while Xindai would feel the pull the same as the others, and even his might would be unable to resist for long.

 

Kross swung, cleaving the last Neoshadow in half, his sharp eyes caught something falling to the ground from the fallen heartless. He caught it by the chain and held it up, opening the locket. What he saw in the locket made him quirk a brow."A mirror?"He said. As he stared into the mirror, his reflection distorted a bit, instead of white hair, his reflection had navy blue hair, his past self, though he looked relatively unchanged, Kross was still very surprised at this."What is this..?" He said, closing the locket. He blinked twice."Just how long was I out?" He murmured, pocketing the locket and going on, however relieved he was that the battle was over, these things were still a threat to the innocent.

 

As the blades came towards Gexln, he sincerely thought he was going to die. He hadn't thought that, not for a long time, and it was not a feeling he liked. Despite Gexln's dark attitude towards plenty of things, he enjoyed life, and the idea of ending it was one he thoroughly disliked. As if to answer Gexln's worrying, a gravitational force pulled the blades out of the air and over the edge of the cliff. Gexln mentally breathed a sigh of relief; he was safe for the moment. It was at that point that a new threat presented itself; he was now being pulled into the bottom of the canyon. Looking around, he also saw that everyone else was being pulled towards it, too.

The Nobody of the Dark turned around and stabbed the keyblade into the ground, momentarily holding himself in place. However, the dark cloak he had on was pulling him back towards the canyon, almost as though it were betraying him. Gexln looked up ahead and saw Darkness' Sorrow flying towards him, having now dislodged itself. He caught it as it went approached and held it a hair's width away from the cloak he wore. He had worn the cloak since he had become a Nobody, it was almost a part of him, yet at the same time it represented a time that he had been unable to control the darkness within, a time that he was much weaker in. Gexln quickly raised Darkness' Sorrow and cut at the cloak, sending it spiralling into the canyon behind him. He was now wearing a different attire. Underneath the cloak had been a brown sleeveless shirt, and a brown scarf that was frayed at the ends. To finish off the new clothing, he also wore some light brown pants. These were the clothes he had last worn as Glen, on the day he had become a Nobody.

Now that the excess weight was gone, it was time to move onto the next part of Gexln's plan; stopping the gravitational pull. Opening up a dark corridor behind both Xero and Juliet, the plan was initiated. He then created another corridor quite a distance in front of the most recent one. Letting himself fall, he was pulled backwards to the two girls and then into the dark corridor. Instantly, he emerged out of the other one, falling again into the one he had just gone into, creating a loop of sorts and countering the pull. Now all he had to do was wait and hope the pull ended before his magic ran out.


Juliet eyed Xero curiously. She wasn't at all as Juliet had thought before, she seemed more...humane. She gave a small smile. "My father may be strong, he may even be courageous, but one thing he is not is merciful. He is submerged deep in darkness. That is why he can kill without hesitation, because there's no part of him that doesn't want to. You should be thankful that you have that hesitation, for the heart can't exist solely in darkness for long. There needs to be a balance; an equal stage of both light and darkness. That's something my mother once told me, and they are words I live by to this very day" Juliet reassured. As the girl saw what her father had done, understood his plan, she let herself fall into the corridor behind her. She, too, entered the constant loop of entering and exiting the corridors, thankful her father wasn't as inhumane as he seemed, and managed to think of both herself and Xero.

Sabell's grin quickly became an expression of shock as the bladed "feathers" suddenly changed direction and headed toward the canyon. She then felt a force beginning to drag her out of the air and also toward the canyon as well, "No! I will not leave until I have destroyed you!" She said shooting a glare at Gexln. Sabell then took her swords and flew down from the air and was about to slash at Gexln but he suddenly disappeared into a corridor. Sabell then looked behind her to see another corridor a bit of ways away. She then stabbed her swords into the ground and attempted to make herself stop moving.

Xero looked at Juliet for a moment, surprised that she hadn't tried to give her a smart ass remark afterwards. Suddenly Xero was being pulled toward the canyon, she tried to stop herself but then she was engulfed into a dark corridor with Gexln not far behind. She looked over at Gexln and noticed that he wasn't doing much to fight back against Sabell.

'Gexln's weak...' Xero realised as she finally found the strength to stand once again. Even if she gravitational force was dragging her she still fought against it to walk toward Gexln. She had an idea as to what she should do for him, "Gexln!" She called out to him. Once close enough, she wrapped her arms around him tightly, "You're weak Gexln... Take my darkness so you can fight! I'm not letting go until you do..." Xero said as tears welled up in her eyes once again. She knew that if she did this Sabell would probably be badly injured afterwards, but it was something she was willing to do to help Gexln stay alive during this fight.

 

Gexln looked at Xero. He shook his head simply, still being pulled into the corridors. "I'm not taking your darkness. Look at you, you're still weak from the injury. If I took your darkness, there's a good chance you could die, and I'm not going to let that happen. I said i've got your back, so going and killing you myself wouldn't exactly support that, right?" he explained. The tears in Xero's eyes made Gexln feel uneasy; despite his murderous traits he didn't like those he cared about crying. Another pull towards the canyon and Gexln was pulled backwards once more.

Thinking quickly, Gexln plunged Darkness' Sorrow into the ground and held it there with sheer determination. He wasn't going to let Sabell get away with near killing Xero. He glanced over his shoulder quickly at Xero and flashed a cocky smile for a moment. "Relax. One day, I'll die, but it's not today. I may fall, but not like this" Gexln stated confidently. Summoning the keyblade once more in his other hand, Gexln was now dual wielding weapons; a keyblade in one and his sword in the other. He stabbed the keyblade into the ground, a bit above where he was, and heaved himself forward. Then, removing Darkness' Sorrow from the ground below him, he brought it up above the keyblade and stabbed it into the ground beneath. He was now effectively climbing along the ground, using nothing but pure determination and willpower to send himself forward, despite the attempt of the gravity.​

Valinton noticed that he was being pulled toward the canyon and Kaya was trying to hang on and not move. He was then swept off his feet and almost began to fly toward the canyon.

As a last minute thought, Valinton transformed into the black creature and slammed the tendrils into the ground to hold him in place. He looked over at Kaya and knew that he should probably help her also, 'Kaya!' He called to her with his distorted voice, 'Let go, I'll catch you!'

​

Sabell saw an opening for an attack, by the way she was positioned in front of Gexln and Xero, and how the gravitational pull was pulling, she was sure her feather blades would hit them. Sabell then stood up straight with a maniacal grin and flapped her wings to make more of the blades fly toward Gexln and Xero, "DIE!!"

Xero only looked up at Gexln as he refused to take her dark power, "But... Y-you have to win! If you don't, then I-I don't know what I'd do..." When Gexln gave her the familiar cocky smile he usually have her, she felt more at ease. "Okay..."She finally let go of him as he began to "climb" the ground.

Suddenly she saw something fly toward Gexln and her eyes widened. Xero then ran in front of him and held her arms out to try and stop him from going any further from walking into what she thought was a trap. Xero looked up into Gexln's eyes and was about to say something but suddenly she felt something stab her in the back. Her eyes went wide as three more blades stabbed her through the back and she coughed up blood. Xero weakly looked back up at Gexln as she fell forward, trying to hold herself up by practically hanging on him.

"G..ex..ln..." Xero then finally fell to the ground barely able to move or even breathe. Her vision blurred and soon began to black out.

OOC: No. She's not dead.
