The Final War, Light Vs Dark

Xindai simply stared at the oncoming attack. Being the op prick he is, Xindai took out his star crystal and used it's abilities to transport himself behind Verox, out of harms way. Although Rienzel would want me to not abuse that too much, so i won't. He'll mostly just use it for world hopping. He sent his glaive flying at the back of Verox. ​

Verox felt the attack rather than saw it. He felt the flames around his body shift slightly as the glaive cut through them. Barely able to react in time, Verox turned his body so that the glaive would miss his weaker points and hit the bone itself in his back. He groaned in agony as it hit, but he stood up nonetheless. "Finally, a challenge. Been needing one for a while!" he exclaimed, unable to help himself. He ran at Xindai and then ducked down, aiming a leg sweep at the dark creator. At the same time, he used the flames themselves to propel himself up a short distance so that the attack, in the span of less than half a second, was now a violent horizontal kick to Xindai's skull.

Gexln jumped up as he saw the attack out of the corner of his eye. He had disarmed Xero but yet she continued fighting. He mentally shrugged, he admired the girl's persistence. He noticed something then; it wasn't her that was fighting, the scent of her darkness had changed. Someone else was using Xero. "You say you aren't weak, yet you can't fight using your own strength? Gotta rely on someone else's darkness to fight do you?" he taunted again. He was still in the air, and he decided the best move was to flip himself mid-air so that he came crashing down with a vertical leg strike enhanced with the power of darkness.

As Xero attempted to look up at Gexln after he jumped up into the air, she felt Gexln's foot smash into her and she stumbled away as she was kicked. She glared up at Gexln again as he continued to throw taunts at her and she gritted her teeth, "SHUT UP!"
Suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her head and she flinched from the sudden pain as she yelped. Darkness began to appear behind her and started to take form. She began shreaking as she darkness behind her seemed to take on the form of a creature. It's skin black as night, its mouth was patched closed, and it was a rather built looking creature. It was His guardian of the darkness.
Xero stopped screaming when the guardian fully appeared. She breathed rather heavily as she looked back up at Gexln, "You... Know nothing... Of what I've been through... You don't know... The pain and suffering I've endured..."The guardian growled and Xero put her hands out in front of her and the guardian did the same. A sphere of darkness formed infront of the two and Xero's eyes seemed to glow as the sphere grew, "Now DIE!" She then released the sphere of pure darkness and it shot toward Gexln at a high speed.

Lysa nods and gets to work on the lock, her tools occasionally clicking against each-other, "Hey, Sapphire, do you mind if I ask you a few questions while I work?" she asks, "about your situation, I mean?"​

Gexln couldn't help but step back a little bit, surprised at the guardian emerging from Xero. He'd never seen that heartless before, and it looked somewhat intimidating. The intimidation level only rose as he saw the dark sphere. "No, I don't know the suffering you've endured. But I do know the suffering that I'VE endured. My somebody let darkness overtake him, and he died. Do you want to suffer the same fate?" He questioned. It was then the dark sphere flew at him. Frantically, he dove out of the way, skidding along the ground in an effort to avoid the sphere. He stood up and looked over at Xero and the guardian. There was no other choice, he would have to try something he'd only ever managed to do successfully once; he had to extract the darkness from Xero.

 

Annabelle was being held by Kaya. She was close, and then she felt Kaya hit her. Stomach punch, stomach punch, stomach punch! And pause... Stomach punch!

Annabelle coughed and fell to the ground clutching her stomach. Kaya was a hard hitter, and it was evident that she wouldn't let up. She was looking at the ground and still coughing.

Just then, Ruby came over and have Annabelle a hard stomp on the back, causing her to crumple. "Ooh, poor Annabelle! Can't do anything about us!"

Annabelle was in total pain. She couldn't cope with it, and when Ruby caused her to crumple, she didnt have the strength to fight back. "I...hate you.." She muttered.

The guardian growled loudly as Gexln dodged the attack. Xero felt herself rise up from the ground and levitate about two feet off the ground. Xero then flew toward Gexln as the guardian threw its fist at the man, "SUBMIT!" She shouted as the guardian attempted to put itself in Gexln's body.

Gexln saw the attack coming quickly, so he instinctively rolled to one side to avoid it, skidding to a stop at the sheer speed he had moved. "You keep saying you're not weak. Prove it, prove that you're strong enough to fight with your own strength instead of relying on someone else's darkness!" he shouted. He stood still for a second. What he just said was something Verox would've said wasn't it? Is that what he'd meant that day that he had beaten Gexln? He shrugged off the thought. "This comes first" he said quietly. It was now or never. If he didn't end this quickly he'd lose the opportunity to save Kaxar, and that was something he would not allow to happen. "Xero, i'm sorry, but you're going to have to be a lot stronger than this if you ever want to beat me" he stated coldly. He rushed forward and dashed to the side quickly to avoid the guardian, preparing to make his move.

The Nobody of the Dark then leapt over Xero and behind her before she had time to react, he himself surprised at just how fast he moved when he was determined. He placed his left hand on Xero's skull. Here's something I never expected to use in a fight he thought to himself. "Dark...extraction!" he yelled out. Focusing on his control over the element of darkness, Gexln began taking the excess darkness Xero was using, and pouring it into himself. With every second that passed, the control on Xero loosened, until at last it was finished. Gexln felt very sick, his body not being used to darness that was not his own. He completed draining the dark energy, leaving none but a small reserve; it would regenerate quickly as to drain it entirely would cause an imbalance in the victim and ultimately the death of them. He then turned to look at Xindai battling Verox. He badly wanted to get Darkness' Sorrow, but if he did he may lose the opportunity to strike Xindai down himself. He ran away from Xero and sprinted towards Xindai, hoping to catch the dark creator before the battle was over.

Xero saw Gexln suddenly behind her and felt him grab her head. The darkness within her began to lessen and the guardian seemed to be in pain. It disappeared soon after Gexln began extracting the darkness and Xero could feel herself regaining back her mind. However, she began to feel weak and her vision began to blur; Xero then thought the worst.

'He's... Going to kill me...'

With that thought in her mind, Xero wanted to move out of the way but she couldn't. She was too weak to do anything at this point. She felt Gexln stop the extraction when there was just barely enough darkness left to keep her alive. Xero then collapsed to the ground with shallow breathing, her vision blurred to the point where she only saw blobs of color in some places. She twitched somewhat violently as she lied on the ground, her body trying to comprehend the sudden drop in dark energy.

'Was.... I... Losing... Control...again...?'

Xero tried looking over to Gexln but it looked like he was already running toward Xindai and Verox. She weakly reached her arm out trying to call out to Gexln but her voice was too quiet for him to hear, "Wait..." Xero then finally blacked out and her eyes seemed to lose the light that was in them. They were half open still but her vision was black, sounds around her began to sound slower as if someone made the world so motion. Then finally, she passed out.

'Why... didn't you... Just...Kill me...?'

Lysa smiles softly as she continues to work on the door's lock. "Okay... well, your brother wanted me to help him capture you, he spun some sort of story about how your sister was evil and trying to corrupt you," she says as the first tumbler in the lock clicks into place, followed by the second. Lysa continues talking, "then your sister approached me, telling me that your brother was holding you captive, which..." she pauses and glances around at the room and back to Sapphire's door, the third tumbler clicks into place, "... kinda looks to be true. But your sister... I don't know, she seems kinda off to me, I almost thought that your brother was right about her until I found you in your cell." ​

Lysa pauses for a few moments and then the fourth and fifth tumblers click into place in rapid succession. "Anyway, I guess what I want to know is... what do you want? You're the poor girl that I'm releasing from a cage, and it seems like your siblings both want control of you somehow, so I'm going to help you, however you want me to help," Lysa releases the final tumbler and the door swings open, "come on, I'm not sure how much time we have, we've got to get back to my ship!"​

As Caleb lay unconscious, his thoughts turned to that of the last time he had allowed himself to leave the protection of something to others, the day that everything changed.

Spoiler: A Guardian is born

Three years ago, in his hometown, Caleb was just an average kid. He had several friends he felt close to, had a family that looked after him, and he did what he could to help people out when they needed it. One thing was different though; he was usually rested as he didn't constantly search for something to protect. He was sitting with his friend, Gaius Ryan, right near a hollowed out tree. Gaius was trying to convince Caleb to take some time to relax. "Aw come on Caleb, you're always helping others, why not help yourself? Go on a vacation, go surfing or something that you enjoy!" he said, hoping to persuade Caleb. Caleb shrugged his shoulders. "But who would help everyone while i'm not here?" he questioned. Gaius sat quietly for a second, before coming up with the solution. "Me and the others will do it! We'll keep everyone in line, promise!" he promised. Caleb couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at this. "Even Rufus and Bug?" he inquired. Gaius laughed quietly. "Oh come on you know those guys are all talk! It'll be a piece of cake!" he replied. Caleb leaned back a little bit against the tree. The more he thought about it, the more he realized just how badly he wanted to take a vacation, to go where nobody would need him to help them do things. He smiled slightly. "Alright, i'll go relax a little" he responded.

Caleb came back a couple of days later. He'd been relaxing and just trying to take it easy in general for the last two days; now it was time to return to his life of helping others. As he approached the town, he realized how early it was. 6am was much too early to just go strolling in and expect a welcoming committee. He froze suddenly as he entered the town, something was wrong. Smoke, he could smell smoke. He ran ahead and around the corner only to see buildings on fire everywhere and dead bodies galore. It was at that moment that a girl ran past, tears streaming down her face and carrying a large key in her hand. Wasn't that the girl that Rufus was always picking on? He decided to call out to her. "Hey, what happened?" Caleb asked her. She said nothing, continuing to run past him screaming and crying as she headed for the exit of the town.

Caleb continued walking through the town. With each passing minute, there only seemed to be more and more bodies. People he recognised; Rufus, Bug, his other lackey, his other friends, and then Gaius. Gaius, the one that had promised to protect the town. He still had his fists clenched, as though he had gone down fighting. Caleb moved his hand over Gaius' eyelids and closed them gently. "Rest well Gaius, I am thankful for you trying" he said quietly. As he walked along a little bit more he recognised a small group of bodies ahead. He didn't want to believe what he saw, but his eyes did not lie to him. He ran over quickly as even more despair set in. "Mom? Dad? Get up!" he cried. He knelt down beside them, and it was then he saw the marks. They were not knife marks, or blades of any sort. In fact, they looked as though some kind of creature had attacked them with sharpened claws. What could have done this? Caleb wondered. He sat in silence for a few minutes, paying his respects to his family and all those in the town. This was not the first time he had experienced loss, his brother and sister had been killed when he was only little, however it was nowhere near as many dead people as this. He clenched his fist and gritted his teeth in anger. He was not angry at Gaius, he was angry at himself.

He slammed his fist on the ground. "If i'd been here I could've done something!" he yelled. "I could've saved them!" he cried out, slamming his fist again. "I was so stupid to leave them alone! I should have never left them! Why do people do things like this? Why is there so much violence in the world? All I want is a world people can live together without cutting each other apart!" he yelled, each time slamming his fist harder and harder until the point that his hand was extremely bloody. He looked up into the sky. "If I ever find out who did this, I'll kill them. I'll tear them apart limb from limb unless they can do this no more. I'll make them beg to die for what they've done, and anyone else that kills the defenceless will suffer the same fate!" he vowed.

Caleb felt a warmth enter his body as he lay down. He was slowly regaining consciousness, his body feeling more energised than it had previously. He lay there conscious but with eyes closed, his body being healed by a spell. He was grateful to whoever used it on him. "No, i'm not going to lay down while others risk their lives..i'm going to fight" he mumbled. He opened his eyes to see that the fighting was still going on. He got up into a squatting position, still recovering from being unconscious. He punched a fist into the ground, and to those that paid attention they would've seen a small crack appear on the ground from the force behind the punch. He stood up. Looking right at the heartless that were attacking, he held out both of his hands to his side and in it a large sphere of light appeared, covering his entire top half of his body in the light. When it disappeared, he was holding a Buster Sword.

The look on Caleb's face was one of a grim nature. "Get out of this town!" he demanded as he swung the giant sword, destroying two heartless immediately.

As Xero lied unconscious on the cold ground, she remembered more of the memory that haunted her. She twitched a bit as she remembered more and more; it all played through her mind like it was yesterday.

Roe looked at Imiri with a devivious grin, her piercing orange eyes glaring down at her. She laughed maniacally and Imiri just stared at her friend in fright. Roe slashed at Imiri, but Imiri parried the attack with her Keyblade. "Roe! You can't let him control you! Fight him!" Imiri said, hoping her friend was still able to hear her. Roe only snickered, "Don't bother," Roe's voice was mixed with another person's as if she was speaking at the same time the man's voice was, "She can't hear you any longer. Her heart is once again one with the darkness." Imiri's eyes widened and she jumped back away from her friend.

Imiri just stared at the girl, she knew it was Ansem that was possessing her friend and she wanted to help her; but she didn't know what to do. Ansem just looked at Imiri with a grin as he was still in Roe's body. "Just give up, child! Surrender to the darkness! Your friend has already done so in the exchange of me giving her power. Why don't you do the same?"

"Shut up! I'm not going to listen to anything you have to say!" Imiri shouted at Ansem as her grip of her Keyblade tightened. Ansem chuckled, "Well then, maybe you'll listen to me when I say this: Give me the Keyblade or your friend will be destroyed." Ansem's expression turned stirn as his eyes glared into Imiri's. He saw her eyes fill with the fear for her friend, "I knew that would get your attention."

Imiri growled, "Fight me for it then! If you win, you can take the Keyblade but in exchange for Roe! If I win, I keep the Keyblade AND you still give Roe back!" Ansem cocked an eyebrow, "And how is that exactly a fair deal?"
"I don't believe that you'll give Roe back to me either way so I'll take her back by force!" Ansem grinned once again and behind him appeared a guardian heartless.


Imiri charged at Ansem with a battle cry and Ansem warped behind her and shot a ball of darkness into her back causing her to almost fall forward, but she rolled on the ground and turned back around to see Ansem flying toward her now. Ansem slammed the palm of his hand onto Imiri's chest and released a shock wave of darkness that caused her to fly backwards.

Ansem wasn't using his abilities, he was using Roe's but with much more power. He seemed to be using a D-Link with Roe as he fought.

Imiri hit her back onto the ground as she landed from the short flight Ansem sent her on, she quickly recovered and threw her Keyblade at Ansem. However it was a useless attempt as his guardian appeared infront of Ansem, protecting him from the oncoming blade. It deflected off of the guardian and flew back toward Imiri. She caught the Keyblade and just growled in frustration.

Ansem laughed, "It's futile! You can't defeat me, girl! Your attempts will only make things worse for your friend. The more darkness I use from her abilities, the closer she becomes to being destroyed!" Ansem smirked as he spoke and Imiri glared at him.

Roe was floating in a dark abyss of nothingness as her physical body was being taken over by Ansem. Suddenly she felt a painful surge throughout her body and she screamed. It was Ansem, every time he used one of her abilities, he was slowly destroying her.

'I... I can't...'

Another surge of pain appeared and she screamed again as she jerked around begging it to stop. Once it ceased she began to cry. Not just because of the pain she physically felt, but because she felt helpless. She knew that there wasn't any way to get out of this unless it involved either her friend dying, or her herself.

'This... isn't what... I wanted... Ansem...'

Roe clenched her fists as she tried to endure another surge of pain, but the attempt failed and she screamed once again. Her breathing began to become shallow but then she suddenly saw a light. She heard Imiri's voice shouting at Ansem, "Just give me back my friend!"

Roe then felt determined to save her friend from Ansem, even if it ment that she would die in the prossess. She didn't care anymore, just as long as Ansem was gone. Another surge of pain coerced through and she screamed once again but then a violent explosion of darkness happened as she screamed...

"Just stop! Just give me back my friend! " Imiri shouted. Imiri began to become more frustrated and Ansem noticed this. He smirked once more and quietly chuckled to himself, "That's it.. feed your anger to the darkness. Let the darkness flow within you."

Imiri slammed her Keyblade into the stained glass floor and an explosion of darkness happened and the shock wave made Ansem step back a bit. When everything cleared up, Ansem's eyes widened as he saw an apparition if a creature standing behind Imiri.

Roe had somehow summoned a creature to fight beside Imiri. Imiri smiled at the creature knowing that Roe had helped her and turned back to Ansem, "Well I guess now we have a fair fight."

Lysa's eyes narrow and her ears fill with the sound of her own pulse. She becomes filled with fury, seeing Kaya for what she is, a monster nonchalantly using Sapphire's friend as a bargaining chip. "Sapphire... get out of here..." Lysa murmurs, "they won't stop if you hand yourself over..." Lysa glances mournfully at Sapphire and then draws her blade. Lysa's hold breaks on her calmness and she cries out with rage, attempting to shoulder her way past Kaya and then charging at Ruby with her blade forward, hoping to take the psychopathic red-heads by surprise.​

 

Ruby smiled evilly at Kaya. "Take them both." She said.

Annabelle struggled to get up. "Urgh... Sapphire... Run... Just... Go..." She summoned her Keyblade and held it limply, barely able to stand from her injuries.

Ruby saw past Lysa's trick, but he was still hit. Lysa was faster than Ruby figured. "Oh, that's how you wanna play it, is it?" She summoned her Keyblade and swung at Lysa. "Come on then! Take us BOTH on if you can!"

Lysa's eyes narrow as she focuses, bringing her blade down into a block as Ruby strikes at her. Lysa can tell from the first few moments of combat that she is far more than outmatched by the two keyblade wielders, but that isn't going to stop her from trying. An idea strikes her mid-combat and she quickly brings her body around as if to slam into Ruby, something that a girl as light as Lysa would never be able to do effectively. However, as Lysa does this she also alters her own gravity field, pulling herself in the same direction as Ruby with far more force than gravity normally exerts. She plans on using that same power to hurl herself away from Ruby the instant that she hits the dark-sider.​

Xindai didn't flinch at the threat of being kicked. A hit like that would kill most if it hit them. So all he had to do was ensure that didn't happen. However, he grew bored of simply using his power to make him nigh-untouchable. Instead he opted for a method of combat much more entertaining. With a swipe of his hand, his telekinetic powers activated, but Verox nor Gexln was the target. Instead, the limp body of Kaxar floated up and into the path of the attack. They'd either have to stop the attacks or risk killing her. Stopped or not, that would give him the opening he needed to float out of harms way. A rather high jump aided by his abilities, was performed. He landed on a higher plane of the room nimbly. If they could reach him, it'd be rather difficult to do so. He tossed his keyblade down and forced the body of Kaxar to grasp it. Shortly after, she was manipulated into a fighting stance. Since it was still Xindai wielding it, if indirectly, it didn't disappear. This was the perfect strategy. Both affectionate for the girl. She wouldn't stop until her body was literally torn to pieces. An insane laugh echoed from the floor above. The dark creator spoke one sentence "Now then puppets, dance." And lunged the girl forward at Gexln. ​

Verox saw Kaxar's body being moved to intercept the attack. He twisted his body so that the kick went right past her, but at the same time he came crashing onto the ground at an awkward angle. He landed on his ankle and it became twisted. He got up and flinched in pain as pressure was placed onto the injury, before looking to Gexln, unsure what they were to do. He couldn't fight Kaxar, but he couldn't let her attack them either.

Gexln stopped dashing at Xindai when he jumped away. Kaxar was now being used as a puppet to fight them, and he refused to hurt her any more than he already had. "Verox, I have an idea!" he shouted. He created a dark corridor in front of Verox. He then dashed through it himself, making it clear that that was what he had planned.

Verox followed Gexln through. He liked how fast Gexln responded to most situations, almost as though he had a plan for every thing that was thrown at him. If nothing else, Gexln was VERY persistent.

Caleb de-summoned the buster blade. He wasn't sure who the people were, but it was clear they wanted to help Twilight Town. "There's a man somewhere in this town that wears a black cloak and uses darkness. He had pale skin and dark brown hair. He intends to destroy Twilight Town, and i'm not going to let him do that" Caleb explained hastily.
