The Final War, Light Vs Dark

From outside all that could be heard was the loud clang of metal against metal, Gexln and Caleb each trading blows. Gexln appeared to have the upper hand. They broke away, each of them leaping away from the other. "Why are you trying to kill R?" Gexln asked bluntly. Caleb looked Gexln straight in the eyes before he replied. "To protect my home" he said. Gexln laughed at the boy. "And you think killing R is going to keep your town safe forever? That's a pathetic reason. If R falls, another will rise up eventually with the same ideals as him. If not the same ideals, then i'm sure there will be someone else who wants to destroy your home. You know what? After i'm done with you here, i'll go destroy your home myself" Gexln threatened, hoping to anger Caleb into a stupid attack.

If anything, Caleb appeared calmer. He didn't plan on losing to Gexln, not while his home was at stake. He focused for a brief second, and his katana floated next to him, shortly before launching right towards Gexln. Caleb then summoned two daggers and repeated the process. Gexln, never seeing that spell before, was shocked. He had expected the weapons to be summoned, he'd seen Caleb do it earlier, but Caleb was able to control the weapons that well that he could launch them at an opponent? He had potential. Thinking on his feet as he always did, Gexln turned Darkness' Sorrow onto an angle to deflect the katana, sending it spinning into the ground a few meters away. He then swung Darkness' Sorrow vertically down so that he simply hit the first dagger out of the way, sending it spinning next to the katana. The third dagger he wasn't fast enough to deflect. I sure hope my reactions are as sharp as they used to be.. Gexln thought. He heard the sound of the dagger hurtling towards him at a high speed. If he got hit it would not be good. At the last second, he stuck out his right arm and simply caught the dagger by its hilt. Now he had another weapon.

Caleb didn't want to give Gexln another chance to attack. He went running towards Gexln, summoning a battle axe as he ran. He wasn't the most experienced at using the battle axe, but he needed to try something new if he was to best the Nobody. Approaching Gexln now, he swung the battle axe with all his might at Gexln's torso. Gexln, having just caught the dagger, wasn't prepared for the axe. He threw the dagger at Caleb's wrist, causing Caleb's swing to go to the side a little bit and barely miss Gexln. Caleb stopped for a brief moment, the pain in his wrist worse than he had expected. He bit his lip and swung the battle axe once more at Gexln.

Xero chuckled as she saw both battles commence; one for revenge, another as a diversion from another. She saw Gexln and Caleb suddenly take the fight outside and she decided to follow for amusement. Xero was rather impressed by both of their skills in battle. When she saw Caleb swing his axe at Gexln, she quickly summoned her scythe and jumped in front of Gexln using the scythe's blade to deflect the axe.
"You know, its not nice to go around swinging axes and throwing other weapons around at people." She turned her head towards Gexln with a smirk, especially when the person you're throwing deadly things at is someone I need at the moment."

Caleb leapt back. His battleaxe attack had failed. Not only that, but now there were two people? Most other people would have given up there and then, but not Caleb Stitem. When it came to defending the innocent, Caleb never gave up. He looked at Gexln. "Have as many people help you as you like, but i'm never going to stop until you two and R are taken down!" he yelled. He raised his right hand as his eyes closed in concentration. "I am the bone of my sword" he began, a magical circle appearing around his feet. Gexln couldn't help but notice that his battle axe was now floating beside himself. He wasn't sure how to continue, not knowing whether or not it was safe for him to approach.

"Steel is my body, fire is my blood" Caleb said, his mind filling with images of the people he was so determined to protect; his family, the other residents of twilight town, his friends. As he thought of this, many small swords appeared around Caleb, also floating in the air. "I don't like this..." Gexln said, unsure of why exactly this girl that had been eavesdropping before was helping him. She had said she needed him, but what did she need him for?

"I have created over a thousand blades. Unknown to Death, nor known to Life, have withstood pain to create many weapons" Caleb continued, his determination to save the people that were depending on him growing more and more with each word that he spoke. An air of power surrounded Caleb as he spoke the chant, and Gexln had noticed it. "Yet, those hands will never hold anything" he stated, his voice now sounding far more serious than he had just a minute ago as many more blades and spears alike appeared behind himself. Gexln had finally found the ability to move his legs again. "If he finishes that, I have no idea what will happen, but i'm sure it won't be good. Stop him!" Gexln yelled to Xero. Here he was, barely even knowing the girl, and now his life may very well depend on her? He didn't like it. He took off as fast as his feet would let him, racing towards Caleb at an astonishing speed.

A wave of strength flowed through Caleb. He would protect the town and its residents, even if it meant spilling blood of a male and a female that he did not know. He could hear rapid movement. He assumed that either Gexln or Xero was attempting to stop his spell. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pity, knowing what was to come at them. He opened his eyes to see Gexln right in front of him, mere meters away and already lunging out with his sword. "So, as I pray...UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS!" he yelled. All of the weapons flew ahead of Caleb. Some aimed towards Xero, some towards Gexln, but all with the intention of death.

Xero's eyes widened as many weapons suddenly launched towards her. The amount of power she felt coming from Caleb was far more than what she felt moments ago. Xero actually felt fear creep up her spine as she blankly stared at the on coming weapons. Then she finally snapped out of her trance of fear and at the last minute shouted, "Dark Barrier!" Xero held her scythe out in front of her sideways and put up a barrier shielding herself from the weapons. However, the power the weapons had were almost too great, for she could feel that the barrier was going to shatter an second. She felt that she didn't have any other options now than to use Anti-Form. The weapons against the barrier were beginning to push her backwards. She didn't like the idea of her having to go to Anti-Form, but she didn't know what else to do. As the barrier was about to shatter, she quickly jumped out of the way and ran towards Gexln.

"Hey! If you've got an Anti-Form, use it! It may be the only way to defeat him at this point!" She shouted towards Gexln as she let the darkness within herself become visible. A small explosion of darkness erupted around her and her whole body was as black as night with glowing yellow eyes.

 

"Man, I should of brought some popcorn." Brant said to himself as he watched all the fighting. He wasn't sure about what to do now. If he should even do anything. "Whoa." He said watching Xero go into her Anti-form. Now he was sure that he needed to do something. "I can't just stand here. She's using darkness." Brant said to himself trying to talk himself into helping. But he knew he'd get torn to shreds if he tried to fight them.
But before he could come out of hiding to help, a keyblade appeared in his hand. "Well, this is unexpected. I feel a little better about my chances now." he said looking down at the Earthshaker keyblade. He walked over confidently towards them. "Needs some help buddy." Brant said to Caleb, while revealing his keyblade.

Gexln panicked. Here he was, standing in front of a warrior shown to be extremely capable and shooting many blades at him, he had to do something or he was dead. He unleashed a small dark pulse, simply knocking several of the blades coming at him. He then took the opportunity to roll backwards quickly. He heard Xero's comment and, as much as he hated to admit it, she was right. If he didn't stop holding back, it was very likely he wouldn't survive the fight. More blades shot at him. Gexln's skin was now a dark gray tone, the darkness slowly overtaking him, Gexln himself still slightly hesitant to allow himself to fully immerse himself in the darkness. He gripped Darkness' Sorrow as the blades honed in on him. Simply dodging to the side, he watched as the blades that had been targeting him earlier switched their path and continued after him, while the rest of the blades that Caleb had launched were now nearing him too.

"You want to die that badly? Fine by me!" he shouted, a violent explosion of darkness coming from him, stopping the blades that had gone after him from hitting him. When the dust settled, Gexln was still standing, but he looked different to before. His skin was entirely black, his eyes glowed a bright yellow, and he had a small aura of darkness constantly floating around him, visible to the human eye. He had entered his anti form.

Caleb was shocked. These were the first people to survive his Unlimited Blade Works. Just who was he against? He collapsed for a brief second, Unlimited Blade Works had taken quite a lot of his energy. He then found the strength to stand up through sheer determination. His body ached from exhaustion, but his mind wasn't ready to go down yet. This resolve only increased when Brant entered the fight. He looked over at Brant. He didn't know who he was, but whoever this guy was had possibly just saved his life. He nodded his head without a word other than a simple "Thank you".

Anti-Gexln was not someone to take lightly. Faster and stronger than Gexln usually, it was the second-strongest state Gexln had at his disposal. Without a word, Anti-Gexln ran straight at Caleb and slashed viciously and rapidly two times at Caleb, attempting to slice the boy in half. Caleb desperately summoned a giant shield in front of himself to defend against the attacks. Anti-Gexln didn't give in, he kept attacking the shield, again and again and again while small bursts of insane laughter could be heard from the creature.

 

Kel listened in to everything that was being said. Once again it seemed that they were heading to Twilight Town. Though it was there that this mess started in the first place. "Shall we go then." He finally said.

Zwei on the other hand just nodded at Louvel, signalling that he agreed.

As Ace continued to watch the fight unfold, the black hair girl who'd exited reminded him of the other fight that was going on. If she was going to help, then that battle would surely be more interesting to watch than a battle of pure vengeance. So he made his way out of the mansion and stopped right in front of the door, now deciding to watch the other battle.

Anti-Xero then quickly darted towards Brant, leaving after images from the speed she now possessed. She tackled him as she grabbed his neck and threw him into the ground. She did a kart-wheel as she came close to the ground to put herself back on her feet. Her piecing yellow eyes glaring at Brant with an intent to kill.

 

"So, I'm guessing this means we can't be friends huh sweetheart?" Brant said as he got up. "What do you say we just go home and call it day? No harm, no foul." He said picking up his keyblade. He rushed toward her, with his keyblade scraping against the ground. He slashes to her right with the keyblade, but before he connects he instead quickly swipes her feet, bringing her to ground. "So, how about we call it a day now?" Brant said with a smirk as he placed the end of the keyblade on his shoulder.

Xero fell to the ground after Brant swiped her feet, reverting back to her human form from her concentration being broken. She growled at him as he looked down at her with his smirk. But she suddenly felt weaker than she thought she would be after being in Anti-Form. Was the Anti-Form really eating away at her that quickly? She slowly stood up and seemed out of breath as she did. She chuckled as she leaned against her scythe for support, "Look hon, whatever you ment by us being 'friends' its not happening. Your key isn't going in the keyhole tonight." She smirked as she finally found the strength to move again. She held her scythe back and as she approached hi she swung it at him as hard.as she could.

Lysa's eyes narrow as Kaya approaches her, "What do you mean, look down on me?" she asks, her left hand tightening its grip on her bow. The dimunitive girl seems to have a certain set to her jaw, a tightness that could be either resolution or nervousness. Her right palm rests on the crecent-shaped pommel of her blade, and she attempts to step past Kaya.​

Parrying a strike from R's greatsword, Satsujin stared him down, looking for a weak point in the armor. His eyes were trained for this. There was the obvious choice of the large hole in the armor's chest, but rather than exposing what was underneath, it simply led on into a a seemingly endless black abyss. He didn't trust it. What seemed to be the key to his victory may very well be the tool of his defeat. Lost in thought, he was almost struck by R's blade. Strafing to the side, it exploded a pile of debris into practically dust with the force behind the strike. The strikes may have been slow, but they held dark strength like nothing he'd ever seen. He could see how R had been able kill his clan so easily. This thought was interrupted by what little windows remained shattering. ​

R remained unflinching as dozens of swords burst through the windows, flying at them. He simply slid the shield down from his forearm to his palm and slung it over his shoulder, covering his back. A flurry of steel and broken glass collided the unflinching murderer. As R had taken most of the blows, Satsujin was spared from most of it, deflecting what got through with his sword. A few Kunai were thrown in his direction during the open portion where his shield was defending his back, but they all bounced off the armor. Not nearly as effective as last time. One had struck the hole in the center of his chest. Rather than bouncing off, it was relentlessly consumed by the darkness within. It seemed he was right. R, still emotionless and silent, returned the shield from his back to it's normal position and charged the assassin. ​

That's when it hit him. The back. It was open, and pouring out darkness to avoid an overload from within. That's why he had covered it with the shield instead of simply ignoring the attacks, protected by his impenetrable armor. Because it wasn't impenetrable. Flash stepping forward from side to side, Satsujin made his way to R. His long black hair flowing behind him. He attempted to distract him while attacking. "Do you know what the worst part of your attack was?" "Enlighten me" "Because of my family, all the people of the worlds treated me like vermin. Meanwhile, i had to watch my parents' murder praised, like some kind of hero." The more he spoke, the angrier he became. While it may have been simply a distraction, the words were true. He was ready to pull his final assault. Gathering up all his energy into the blade, he leaped high into the air and plunged it into the floor, petals streaming behind it and lightning arching out in every direction as it collided with the ground. "Narukami" He said, calling out the name of his own attack. It mirrored the name of the blade which performed it. Large spirals of petals burst forth from the blade, spinning in a counter clockwise motion and contracting the lightning within themselves. Eventually there was a whole storm of them surrounding Satsujin as he grasped the handle of his weapon, ready to strike. If he only had one chance, he would make sure it succeeded. ​

 

Brant blocks the attack, and staggers back. "My, my so that's where your mind goes? I'm sorry, I'm not that kind of guy. I don't even know your name. Mine's Brant FYI, sweetheart." he said circling around her, spinning his keyblade around his right hand. "I think we should take it slow, get to know each other!" he said as he leaped in the air towards her, with his keyblade above his head ready to bring it down.

Caleb was slowly being worn down. Anti-Gexln's attacks were both numerous and struck hard against the massive shield that Caleb had summoned. If it kept up like this, he would not be able to hold up for much longer. He had to try something, and he had to try it now. He de-summoned his shield as Anti-Gexln landed another hit on the shield. He then rolled to the side and, lacking the energy to summon another blade, he lashed out with his elbow, knocking Gexln off his feet and distracting him enough for Gexln to revert back into his normal form. Gexln, reacting quicker than Caleb would've thought, lashed out with his left leg, kicking Caleb in the face and knocking the warrior onto his back.

Gexln then slowly got up, the battle taking more energy out of him than he would've liked, and walked over to Caleb. Caleb's vision was blurry and he was having much difficulty breathing. Gexln walked over and kicked Caleb in the stomach, winding him. "Now, i'm going to follow through on my threat. I'm going to go and destroy the precious town you call home, and you're going to be alive to watch it" he said coldly with a slight laugh at the end of it. Caleb's vision became increasingly blurry. He reached out with his arm, as though he were trying to grab Gexln and stop him from leaving. "No...I won't...let you.." Caleb struggled, the fight over as his consciousness finally slipped away.

Gexln turned to look at the others that were fighting. While Xero had helped him, did he necessarily have an obligation to help her? No, he did not. She had not helped him because she wanted to, she helped him because she needed him for something. And as for R? He had seen R fight. Without Caleb to help him, he believed Satsujin would fall. Upon deciding this, Gexln turned, grabbed Darkness' Sorrow and walked towards Twilight Town, walking right past Seifer and not even making a move to acknowledge him as he headed back into tram common.

The train had finally arrived at Twilight Town. Verox stepped out of it and waited for Kaxar to leave. Once she had walked out of it, he yawned. "Man that train took forever to get here" he said. He looked around at his surroundings. "Wow, so this is where the train goes.." he said, thinking aloud. He spotted a map of the tram route and ran over to it. Suddenly an idea popped into his mind. "Hey Kaxar, what do you say we take the tram and see more of the town before we have to go back to that cramped tower and listen to that red-haired girl whining more?" he asked.

​

Kaxar wasn't so sure about that. Something about the thought of exploring the town didn't feel right. "I don't know..." she replied.
"Aw come on" Verox said, grabbing her by the hand. "It'll be fun" he encouraged.
Kaxar decided to go along with it. She stopped pulling away and decided to follow Verox, as the two of them walked to Tram Common.

Xero jumped out of the way just before Brant could hit her. She looked over at Gexln and saw him defeat Caleb. She smirked then turned towards Brant and ran towards him but then ducked down to the side and went behind him as she put the blade of her scythe against his neck. She held it tightly in place almost breaking the skin on Brant's neck. She looked over towards Gexln again and saw that he was leaving. She then decided that now would be a good time to end this.

She leaned in closer to his ear and said, "It's been fun.. but I think It's time to end this fight for now. I like you.. so I'll let you go this one time." She dissipated her scythe and began walking in the same direction Gexln was going. She stopped for a moment and turned back towards Brant, "I'm Xero by the way." She turned away with another smirk and began running towards Gexln.

"Hey!" She called out to him she she got closer to him.

 

Brant rubs his neck where Xero held the scythe. He watched her leave, unsure what to do. He didn't understand why she let him live. He looked over at Caleb, and saw he was hurt bad. Brant ran over to him, and slid down on the ground next to him. "Hey, fella' you ok?" Brant asked after he thrust his keyblade in the ground. He continued to shake his shoulder trying to stir him. "Come on fella', get up!"

R prepared himself for the oncoming assault. From the looks of things, this appeared to be the assassin's final push. He'd called out the name of the attack, which matched the name of the blade. It was likely a master technique, achieved by only a few of it's wielders. Right now, his priority was defense. He held his shield in front of him as a barrage of electric petals hurried toward him. ​

​

This was it. His shield was in the front. Satsujin raced forward, glowing white hot petals surrounding him and his blade, lightning cracking in every direction. Raising his blade, he performed a false strike. Shortly before the blade connected to the shield, the assassin flash stepped behind the heartless, Continuing the strike. He released all the energy he could at once in a massive explosion against the heartless' back. Had he won?​

It would have been so, had R's reaction time been any slower. On a split second's notice, he hardened the darkness flowing from his back. it wasn't as hard as the armor, but still protected him from the strike. This was dangerous as it caused build up, and doing it for too long would destroy the armor and injure it's user. It's hardened state had lessened the blow, yet still the sheer explosive force sent him through the wall, out to the lawn where his allies had previously been fighting. He didn't even notice that the battle had been won, too focused on his battle. He now realized he'd underestimated Satsujin, and he'd have to push this form to it's limits. Still airborn and moving fast, R stabbed his blade into the ground and used the force from himself flying to swing around the handle, leaving a trail of darkness from where his foot had run along, which he sent racing toward his foe.​

Satsujin could scarcely believe his eyes. Not only had his attack not won him the fight, but left him open for an immediate counterattack. The dark energy struck his blade with immense force, blowing him back and causing him to lose his footing. Before he could even react to being knocked back, R was right ontop of him. The armor now gone. Instead replaced with black tattoos throughout his body. His speed was godlike. Just then, an incredible pain shot through his stomach. A heavy gauntlet appeared and plated R's left arm, which he then used to strike Satsujin's torso. before he had hit the ground, a long chain of darkness wrapped around his waist, with the other end on R's palm, who was now near the center of the room in altitude. He was pulled upward as R flew down. Pain riddled his body as it was slammed against the ceiling, but the worst was yet to come. At exactly the same time, R made around 7 miniature dark corridors in a circle around him, a dark firaga was sent through each at the same time. All the corridors let out above Satsujin, from the roof, so seven explosions of dark might struck him all at once, knocking him back down into the floor. With a stomp of his foot, a dull dark spike, more blunt than sharp appeared on his landing point and struck his back, Causing him to slide off onto his knees. Satsujin remained motionless for a few moments. Eyes widened with shock and body wracked with pain. He'd lost. So easily. R has been holding back the whole time. this strength was unbelievable. ​

The heartless walked over to his defeated opponent and held a black blade to his neck. Indicating he could easily end it then and there. "Tell me, why did you do it?! Why did you kill my family?" R was demanded of. "I seek...to create a utopia. A perfect world, free of war and hardships. Law carried out by a just and fair leader. Those who abuse the darkness for their own gain have no place in such a reality." Satsujin laughed weakly. "You're one to talk. Look outside, citizens being terrorized and murdered by heartless at your order. You're hardly a fit ruler for such a "utopia". Merely a hypocritical tyrant." "You misunderstand." R corrected, to Satsujin's surprise. "I seek only to create it. I'm aware that my crimes deny me the right to live in it. Once this perfect world exists, i will fade from the pages of history. Another will take my place. She may seem weak now, but on the inside is potential like nothing i've ever witnessed before. Her frail demeanor masks greatness. She will be the star to guide humanity to paradise. I will ensure it." Finishing his explanation, R raised the blade, as though to strike and decapitate Satsujin. The assassin braced himself for death, but felt nothing. Instead, the blade was dismissed. "You've been given a second chance. But be warned, a third will not come." R made him aware, before pushing him through a corridor of darkness.​

Beuce called out to the two before they reached the train. "Wait! I'm not crazy i swear! You have a disease that makes it so you cant see past the fourth wall! it's a shame really. You have a disease! A DISEASE I TELL YA! I DISEASE!" Beuce screamed at them, his eye twitching slightly. Now that he'd had his fun acting insane, back to being serious. Well, as serious as Beuce got really. "M'kay. So, off to twilight town then. I hear that's where the plot is." With that, he summoned his glider and took off, circling down the tower and blowing past Kaya and Ruby. He was too focused on their appearance to realize that the lights were being spied on. ​

As the dark creator landed in the tram common, he took a look around. It was still just as unassuming as ever. it seemed to be nothing but a simple town in midday. Although appearances could be deceiving. It wasn't long before heartless showed up, surrounding him to attack. "Oh please, i was commanding legions before your petty master was even a thought in his parents' feeble brains." He said, sending a telekinetic shockwave outward, knocking them all back and destroying them. "Well, at least this place has livened up a tad. First things first, i'll be gathering information." He spoke to himself, strolling casually down the street when he came upon two figures near the train station. Unbeknown to them, he probed their thoughts. It seemed they were of the light. Something about a date and an insane lunatic talking to himself. Nothing useful there, but something tickled his fancy. Two words danced across their minds. "Kingdom Hearts". Now that was worth investigating. ​

Verox and Kaxar came to a stop at the trail that the traack followed in Tram Common. Verox scratched his head for a second, before shrugging his shoulders. "Track's here just like it showed in the picture, but no tram. Maybe it runs on a different day?" he asked. Kaxar nodded her head. What Verox didn't know is that Kaxar had taken another look at the picture. "If you'd read it properly you would've seen that" she explained. Verox had a slightly confused look on his face. "So why did you still come here if you knew that?" he questioned. Kaxar blushed a little bit. "I-i thought it would be fun" she replied.

Gexln turned to look at Xero as she called out. What did she want now? First she claimed to need something, then she decided to follow him? "Oh, hey" he responded, not looking particularly interested. He continued walking, not making any effort to part ways with Xero but walking fast enough that he would reach Tram Common before Caleb regained consciousness. His body tensed up as he came to a sudden stop, seeing something that made his blood boil. He saw Kaxar standing there with Verox.

Verox saw Gexln, too. Instinctively, he stepped in front of Kaxar, putting his arm out in front of her in an attempt to protect her and show Gexln that he wouldn't let him hurt Kaxar. A low growl escaped Gexln's lips. "Verox" he said in a low, angry tone. "Gexln" Verox responded, in an almost matter-of-fact tone of voice. Kaxar was standing still. A mixture of feelings were going wild inside of her. Part of her was upset that Gexln had turned her into a Nobody, but part of her was just happy to see him again and know he was okay. She was speechless, having no clue what she should say. "Why are you here Gexln?" Verox asked. "To make good on my threat" the Nobody responded. Verox took note of the small scratches that Gexln had on him. "Either you had one hell of a fun night last night, or you've been fighting people again. Still trying to empower your darkness?" Verox taunted. Gexln had no response for that.

Xero caught up with Gexln as he started walking off after he acknowledged her. She walked next to him, ""I need to talk to you about something. I've heard you're pretty good at controlling your darkness so I..." She paused noticing that Gexln had stopped and turned around, "Gexln?" She saw him tense up and looked where he was looking and saw two other people. The young man seemed to look like he was protecting the girl. She raised an eye brow and then looked over at Gexln again and back at the girl.
"Oooh, I get it..." She raised an eye brow and smirked at Gexln, "Somebody's jealoouus~" She said in a melodic tone as she nudged Gexln.
