The Final War, Light Vs Dark

R was quick enough to react in time to avoid a direct hit from Gexln's attack, but not the attack entirely. A semi-deep cut was left on his shoulder. R felt the pain of it, but there was no blood. As a heartless, he had no blood running through his body. Within was nothing but darkness, darkness that seeped out of a the wound in blood's place. Ignoring the injury for the moment, he quickly spun around to behind Gexln and held his hand up to the back of his head, a dark firaga charged up in his palm. "Do you wish to continue?" R asked, assuming he could guess what would happen if he gave the wrong answer.​

Beuce was a bit upset that the king had ignored him, but forgot about it entirely when an ingenious (or at least he thought it was) idea struck him. He walked over to sapphire casually. "Sapphire! Heeeey" He said in a friendly tone. "Think you could do me a little favor?" He asked then began whispering something in her ear, inaudible to the rest of the group.

"We're off to our base of operations, to see the king." Emerald told Lysa, then began inspecting the ship. It was so far improved, one could hardly tell it was the same ship. Likely so many parts had to be replaced, it barely was. "Wow Cid. You did a great job on this! I guess that's why they call you the best." She said smiling at Cid.

"Oh? Something about that angers you does it?" Xindai said, sensing his will to fight at the mention of the word "Xehanort" "Well, i suppose i have been away for a long time. Lets test my skills then, shall we?" He said, pulling out a small object with three long curved blades on it, making a spiral. He gave it a toss, propelling it at intense speed toward the armor, using his powers of the mind, specifically telekinesis, to manipulate it's motions as the deadly razor flew at his opponent.

Gexln gritted his teeth. "Heh, you move fast. Didn't think i'd lose again so quickly, must be losing my touch" he replied in a somewhat aggressive tone. He held up Darkness' Sorrow high in the air with his left hand. He then let go of it, showing R that he yielded. What he didn't mention was that he hadn't gotten the chance to go all out. Truth be told, he could probably get out of the situation he was in, but then again he didn't know the extent of this man's power either. For once in your life, think with your head and not your blade Gexln he thought to himself. Darkness' Sorrow clanged on the ground. "You win" he stated. He still didn't turn around, unsure if R would take it as a sign of aggression or not. "What's your name?" he questioned.

 

R watched as Darkness' sorrow dropped to the ground. He clenched his fist, extinguishing the dark flames and lowered his hand to his side once more. "R." He responded in his trademark monotone voice. "Now then, i have accepted your challenge and won." After he said that, he dissipated that markings on his body as we as the claws on each hand. "Unless you've further business, i'll be on my way." ​

If he truly is associated with the darkness, maybe i could learn a thing or two from him. And eventually overpower him, maybe Gexln thought. He picked up Darkness' Sorrow again, but made no move to attack with it or even threaten R. "Well then, R, maybe i could help you. I can control the darkness quite well, so i could eliminate those who would oppose you with ease. I've also travelled a lot, so i could probably help restore that thing" Gexln stated. He wasn't lying about being able to eliminate people, in his mind he believed he really could help with that, but he wasn't so sure about helping restoring the cornerstone.

"As you wish. You may accompany me." Said the heartless unfeelingly. He said he could wield the darkness...Wielding the darkness was one thing, but did he truly comprehend it? So few did...Only time would tell. R silently continued into the room of the mansion. On the table in the center, etched in yellow crayon, were three circles, with a border around them. One was empty, while the other two contained symbols. "Fill in the third..." R said quietly to himself, Recalling the old wise man's words. He ran his finger in the pattern of the shape meant to be filled in, leaving a trail of darkness and acting as a writing utensil. He stepped back once he'd finished, and the floor vanished, revealing a stairway down into a dark blue room filled with electronics. "And a stairway will be revealed." He said, completing Ansem the wise's words. Descending the stairs, R proceeded through the rooms of the basement. Along the way, he saw a computer with several monitors, no doubt the central controller for all these machines,and some sort of device emitting a beam of light which ended halfway above the ground and formed a ball. Entering a hallway, R took note of several pods, resembling flowers not yet in bloom. He ignored them and brushed past, to follow Ansem's instructions exactly. He needed the pod in the white room. The door at the end of the hallway lead to this. The room was solid white, pure and untainted by any other color. R stood out in the room as his dark clothing contrasted it. It was empty aside from a larger version of the pods outside, sharing their color. That was what he needed. ​

Gexln followed R into the rooms, saying nothing but merely observing. R hadn't shown any objection to him following, which was odd in his opinion. When they got to the last white room he finally spoke up. "So, how is this place going to help you restore whatever it is you're trying to restore?" he questioned. He couldn't help but wonder exactly what the thing was that R was trying to restore, obviously something important.

 

"Have you ever heard of the cornerstone of light?" R asked. "It resides in Disney Castle, warding off darkness and intruders. Or at least...it used to." R said, taking out the cornerstones from his pocket, revealing to him it was in his possession, along with another similar to it. . "Not many know of it's origins. It was one of four pieces of an incredibly powerful object known as the eternity stone, fought over in the keyblade war long past. These are two of it's pieces. However..." R added on. "They've been stripped of their power, by fools who didn't know what they were meddling with. They drained away it's power and fragmented it into several pieces." The heartless paused, gazing up at the pod before him. "I've been told that this holds the key to piecing it back together..." He held up the cornerstones, as they left his hands and floated into the pod, closing the door behind them. "I hope they're right." ​

 

"So lets assume that this pod...thing..does actually work, and your magical stones are fixed and powerful again. What happens after that?" Gexln asked. He paced around a little. "Would you use it to try and keep intruders outside of somewhere like the cornerstone of light, was it? I think that's what you called it, or would you use it for something else entirely?" he added. He wasn't entirely sure that he should be asking these questions given the circumstances, but if he didn't the curiosity inside of him would be prodding away at his thoughts, always wondering about the plan.

 

"If I'm successful in restoring the stones, i'll go on a search for the other two." R began. He paused, hesitant to tell him the rest. He could sense that this man hadn't been using the fullest extent of his power during their fight, then again...neither had R. He figured that whatever may happen, he'd be able to clean up the mess. "Once the completed eternity stone is in my grasp, I'll use it to win the war...If possible, doing so with minimal loss of life. An overwhelming display of force can end it quickly." R explained. When he said with minimal loss of life, he didn't just mean on his own side. If he could win the war without killing the lights, he'd gladly do so. However, he wasn't set on some idealistic future. If worse came to worst and that proved impossible, he'd kill the lights to win. ​

 

Rexitus entered the mansion quietly. He had not felt anyone's inertia when entering, seeing that everything was fine. He closed the door behind him as five Dusks appeared into being. "Search for anyone. Bring them to me if that's the case. I do not want anyone witnessing my plans." He said to them. They flew away, leaving the Timekeeper's Wrath to do his own business.

The thing about Rexitus was that he wasn't born like most Nobodies, because he was born without memories other than a name, and the Keyblade. He entered the library, and saw that the floor gave way to an underground lab. As he walked down the steps, he thought about Lexeain. The girl was beautiful, a graceful fighter, and a true companion. But she was somehow strange, familiar in Rexitus's eyes. He trusted her with his life, but her last comment left him bewildered. If he was going to find answers, the machines in this place would give him an answer.
Maybe he could find out who he was, before he became a Nobody.


Meanwhile, Lexeain watched as the Heartless and Nobodies attacked various townspeople, sometimes working together. From a hidden face, her stomach gnawed nervously as she watched the people turn into Heartless and Nobodies. Lexeain felt that this was wrong. She may have been on the dark side, but she was rejected by both light and dark upon rebirth. But the power inside was telling her that this was completely unethical. Her thoughts turned to Rexitus. The boy she had used to know wouldn't have allowed this. If he had only known who he had been.

This information was interesting to Gexln. His attention was instantly caught at the very mention of a war. "War..sounds kinda fun" he said. He quite liked the thought of being involved in a war, and figured it was a good place to prove to himself that he can be stronger. He looked back at the pod. "So this thing better hurry up and get fixed fast, we've got more stones to get and then a war to fight!" he exclaimed, unable to suppress his desire for combat. It wasn't the thought of bloodshed that drove him to like combat so much, it was the fact that he figured if he could kill someone he was somewhat stronger than them, a goal he had had since the very first day of his being. He waited for a moment, thinking about the conversation and the war. Scratching his head, he spoke up. "But how do you plan on ending a war? Even with a display of power it's just human nature to fight each other, war is never ending" he said.

 

R was quiet for a moment. "Never ending you say? Everything comes to an end. I will one day come to an end, as will you. Nothing is never ending." The heartless said in a deep, emotionless voice. "If you choose to join us in the war, i have no objections. Time is racing toward us, until the lights arive. If you heed my every order, you might survive. The reason i need to restore the cornerstone in the first place is because my subordinates didn't listen..." R said to the nobody, trying to drive through the fact that organization was a key part in victory, "Come then, There was a computer back in the other room, it should be the central control panel for this pod." R said, slowly walking out into the other room. He was surprised by what he saw, but didn't show it and remained emotionless as ever. "Rexitus. What are you doing here?" ​

 

Rexitus was equally surprised and somewhat angry that he had been found. Instead he let out a grunt.
"If you have your own privacy, R, then it would be good for you to know that what my business here is none of your business. I may be on your side, but just to remind you, is that I am a Nobody, and I come and go as I please, because I was both rejected by both light and dark upon rebirth. I am not in the mood. But in case you should know, Lexeain is carrying on just fine. The Heartless population grows at a rate to the point where I'm starting to feel their inertia."
A Dusk flew in as Rexitus said, "The Nobody population seems to be growing and compiling with the growing numbers of those corrupted, mindless creatures." Rexitus grabbed the Dusk by the neck forcefully, turned his back and hissed at it, "Why was I not informed of this?? This will ruin the plan if R finds out. Do not fail me again, or I'll turn you into a Creeper."
Rexitus released the Dusk as soon as it uttered its agreement. It flew away down towards the hall. Rexitus looked towards the new figure. Another Nobody? Not his problem. He waved off the new individual and worm-holed down one of the hallways.

Gexln watched Rexitus carefully as he spoke. He didn't know what to think of him. He seemed to be very sure of himself, and seemed to be attuned to the numbers of heartless, something that he'd never heard of many Nobodies being able to do. When he saw Rexitus worm-hole away, again he was surprised. That one could be powerful, maybe he thought. He didn't even look at R as he spoke. "He speaks of the heartless as though he had some control over them. That's interesting, because i can speak the language of the dark. I used to be able to control heartless too, i haven't tried it in a very long time though. Although for someone who is supposedly on your side, he doesn't seem to respect you a great deal does he?" Gexln questioned. He made a mental note to test the limits of Rexitus at one point or another, and try to discover just how much control over both Nobodies and Heartless he had. One thing was for sure; Rexitus was an interesting person to Gexln. He looked at Darkness' Sorrow. "When he spoke of coming and going as he pleases, he sounded very sure of himself. Too sure for someone who would see himself as beneath you really" he finished.

 

Rexitus finished worm-holing to a nearby computer room, and he began working on it quickly. With the help of his Power Harness, which absorbed not only power, but data as well, he managed to break past a firewall and into the main archives. The man who had been working in the mansion was named DiZ, as far as Rexitus knowledge took him. Before the mission was totally in effect, Rexitus and Lexeain spied on the worlds, looking for a way to know who they were, and instead found the name of the individual who worked in this mansion a long time ago.

As Rexitus worked, he found out that DiZ had been working on one individual, a boy named Sora, apparently to piece his memory back together. But strangely enough, Rexitus scrambled the name together, and put an X in the name as well. Roxas.
Rexitus put together a file search, and found that indeed Roxas was Sora's Nobody. It was strange, looking at both individuals. They were both two different people, yet they existed at the same time. It also said that Sora was a Keyblade Wielder as well, but with Roxas, the Nobody wielded two Keyblades instead of one. Rexitus dismissed it as additional information and continued looking. He looked passed Sora's data and found that before Sora's time, there were other kingdoms that were now destroyed for reasons unknown to Rexitus. His eyes caught on one particular world, Abraxas. He tried to access the file, but for some reason, the data was corrupt, so there was nothing Rexitus could have done.


Rexitus decided to get off. Just to be safe, in case R and his newest associate came by, Rexitus erased any data files that he had accessed within the time he was on. Most of the files, he had locked to avoid suspicion for a good measure. The last thing he needed was R ordering his lackeys to converge on him and Lexeain.
Lexeain.
Rexitus suddenly remembered that he needed to plant the Power Harness. But with R in the building, he would probably decide to destroy it, so as soon as the Power Harness finished forming, Rexitus quietly said, "Cloak." And the device disappeared from view. It was still physically there, but in order to reveal it's location would require the use of the Keyblade. Otherwise, no one can sense it unless they are incredibly sharp. Rexitus then opened a Dark Hallway, and stepped through, coming out at the entrance of the mansion.

Lexeain was out there with her mask removed. She had been crying. Rexitus tilted his head to the right and put an arm around her. Lexeain let the arm fold around her shoulder as she asked, "How long are we supposed to deal with this?" Her voice was firm, but Rexitus could tell that her voice was cracked. He had forgotten that when she was faced with a task, just seeing the death of innocent individuals made her break. It must have been a little bit much.
"Not for very long, Angel," Rexitus replied smoothly, gently, "I managed to plant the device. I had a little trouble with R though."
Lexeain's eyes widened. "R? In the old abandoned mansion? What for?"
"I'm not sure. But one thing for a fact, he has gained a new associate. A Nobody, like us. And the way I felt it, this one reeked of hunger for bloodlust."
"There might be others like us. Maybe with the light wielders. What's our next order of business?"
"I need you to plant another Power Harness at the clock tower at the Train Station. I'll take over the Nobody and Heartless squads. I realize how fragile when it comes to innocent lives."
Lexeain smiled at him, and said, "Thank you, Rexitus."
"It's the least I could do."
With that being said, Lexeain replaced her mask and the duo both worm-holed through the forest.

Caleb was running as fast as he could. He'd heard rumours of Seifer and his gang going to the forest earlier, but nobody knew why. Then creatures had begun appearing, Nobodies and Heartless. Coincidence? He doubted it. He hurried through Tram Common and approached the opening. Caleb had always been one to help others in need, and like it or not Seifer always seemed to be the "town's protector", so where he went often Caleb would see himself needing to help.

However, as he went to go through the opening, multiple Nobodies appeared around himself, blocking the entrance. "Gah, Seifer will have to wait. For now, i have to protect everyone from these things! I'm assuming you things are the troublemakers here so, i'm going to have to ask you to leave" he said. "Requip!" he shouted. A bright light came from his right hand for a few seconds, and after the light faded a japanese katana was in his hand. He braced himself for battle, ready to take out the Nobodies quickly.

 

Rexitus and Lexeain stopped when the newcomers came, and looked at each other. They knew that these were their judges, but petty ones at that.
"Your town, kid? Don't make me laugh. You're nothing more than a tick in my eyes. Thankfully, Lexeain sees that you're worth more, so I'll let it slide." And with that, Rexitus threw down his hands as he released a huge chunk of energy, and summoned his Sidewinder, which soon turned back to the Corrupted Timekeeper again. The energy release was significantly bigger than the last time, and by that, it was more detectable. But Rexitus didn't care. He knew that this fight was careless, a waste of energy.
Lexeain felt it too, and she decided to follow suit. "I never meant to hurt anyone. But I was only doing my job. In that way, if anyone stands in between our jobs, we will dispatch." Lexeain said as she too released. But this energy was of pure light. Time to fight.

Lysa smiled at Louvel, poping her cockpit's canopy and sliding into the Pilot's couch, winking down at him as she started the warm-up of the Gummi ship's engines, "Sure I'll come... where are we headed?" She asks, then glances around, "and does anyone need a ride? This thing isn't big, but I think someone could fit in my lap."​

Garnet looked at Mickey. "Is she gonna be okay?" She asked. Garnet also indicated to Annabelle. "And what about my sister? What's wrong with her? Did I..?"

Luna walked over. "Here she is, if you wanna look at her."
