The Escape

"One of my old friends...?" She asked Isabelle. "Who...?" When she saw Naomi drag Aqua on the ground, she immediately ran up to her and swung at her with her sword, hoping to make her let go.

 

Naomi just flew up still with Aqua in her hands, "You are just too plain."

"The talking rat," Isabelle said jumping on to Dust and then jumped off of her to get to Naomi. Her whip went around Naomi's neck and she swung until Naomi gave up and drop to the ground. Aqua fell and then Elizabeth caught her. Aqua quickly shot at Naomi's wings so she couldn't move off the ground.

"Why would the fox go to you?" Elizabeth asked. Aqua coughed a little since Naomi was grabbing from her neck.

 

"The fox?!" Anita said, shocked. "What did he want?!" Suddenly, she fell to her knees and started coughing. She had forgotten that it was still hard for her to breathe.

 

"Anita?" Isabelle looked over.

"I dont know what wrong with her," Elizabeth said running up to her. Naomi was trying to come out of the trap they left her in. Aqua still coughing a bit looked up.

"Why is there smoke at the top?"

 

Anita was breathing heavily. She looked up. "Smoke...?" She asked.

 

Isabelle looked up and then back at Elizabeth, "Where's Nova?" Elizabeth made a worried face and looked over at Naomi.

"What did I tell you?" Naomi said grinning.

"Anita?" aqua walked up to her, "You dont think this has to do with..."

 

Anita looked up at Naomi and her eyes widened. She gave Aqua a worried look before slamming her fist into the ground. "I knew something would happen because of that!" She muttered to herself, mostly. She started thinking... Should they have just let themselves be sacrificed...? It was to help save everyone... She started thinking that maybe it was too self centered to try and get out of there...

 

"Someone has to go up there!" Elizabeth said running to Dust. Isabelle grabbed her at the last minute.

"You need to stay here and watch everyone," Isabelle said jumping on, "I'll go see quickly and come back. I promise I wont take long. Call Nove over quickly." Dust jumped off and headed for the top. Elizabeth whisled at a high tone for Nova to hear. Nova called back but couldn't come. Aqua looked over at Naomi with a glare.

"Anita, what are we suppose to do?"

 

Anita felt her eyes start to fill with tears. "I-I just don't know anymore..." She said.

 

"Now the rest of your family is going to have pay the price this time," Naomi said. Elizabeth shot an arrow in front of her mouth.

"Shut Up!" She said. Aqua hugged Anita hopeing to confert her.

Isabelle flew up pretty quickly. It was only a second or two at the speed Dust was flying. She had her whip in case she needed it. There was a wall in between the fire and where she was. She and Dust landed on the side and then peeked through it.

 

Anita felt the tears start to fall down her cheeks. She was absolutely right. Just because her and Aqua didn't want to die, now everybody was going to have to pay the price... Her and Aqua could've saved them all... Anita looked down, shameful for being so self-centered... She just wanted to see Will again... and Isabelle... and Elizabeth... She just wasn't ready to die and leave them... However, that would've been easier than watching all of them get hurt...

She looked up, a thought coming to her mind. Maybe if I went back to the shrine, there would be some way I could undo all of this... She thought. Perhaps...

 

"Anita...?" Elizabeth gave a worried look at her as if she was reading her mind. "What are you thinking about...?"

"She's being smart, thats what," Naomi said.

"Be Quiet!" Aqua yelled.

Isabelle was in shock of what she was seeing. Guards were carring a large bag, big enough to hold on a person, and bringing it to a fire. They all had rum and looked like it was a celibration.

 

Anita stood up and turned to face Elizabeth. She gave her a sad smile and walked up to her, giving her a hug. "I'm sorry..." She said as tears quickly ran down her face. Then she quickly turned around and started running in the direction of the shrine. There has to be something I can do! She thought.

 

"Anita?" Elizabeth said again. She didnt want to know what anita was thinking but she needed to in order to stop them.

Isabelle didnt waste any time. She ran to the guards who were going to through the body in the fire and attacked them. She grabbed a sword and slashed them out of the way. Isabelle was to mad to scream.

 

Anita continued to run, the tears softly falling down her face. All she could think was Am I doing the right thing...? Am I really helping everybody, or am I wasting my time...? She looked down. Will...

 

"Anita!" Elizabeth started to run after here. Aqua had to stay to make sure Naomi would stay. "Anita! Please dont go back!"

Isabelle also grabbed a crossbow and was shooting guards off the edge of the walls. After the last of them, she ran to the bag but then she stopped. Her throat got caught when she was going to yell because the bag was already caught on fire, a lot.

Anita heard Elizabeth yelling for her not to go, but she didn't listen. She had to... she couldn't let it all end this way... She suddenly gasped and put her hand to her heart as she felt something strange, but she continued to run. What was that feeling...? Is something happening...? She thought.

"Need something?" the fox was ridding on a large black wolf with white markings on it. "Hurry on."

"Anita!!!" Elizabeth started to cry.

Isabelle ran to the bag trying to put out the fire but in it was ashes. Ashes were in here, but she didnt want to know of what. The only thing in them was a golden ring with the family crest, and it only fitted one person.

 

Anita looked over at the fox. "I'm not trusting you anymore!" she said. "You've caused enough trouble! Just go aw-" She was suddenly interrupted in mid sentence when she tripped on a branch and fell. She was sent tumbling down a steep hill. She let out a yell of surprise when she tripped, and it felt like she was tumbling forever. However, she soon reached the bottom and lay there, motionless.

 

"Fine then," the fox said. He left before Elizabeth came and saw Anita.

"Anita!!" She said running to her. She kneeled down next to her, "Antia! Please answer me!"

Isabelle clenched the ring in her fist and kneeled next to the pile of ashes. She felt tears fall down but she wasnt crying in screams like she did when she saw her mother die. She was crying in anger twoards herself. She couldn't save her father just like she couldn't saver her mother.
