Can someone lay out the differences between these forums? They're all for discussing general stuff, but I can't see distinct differences.

Discussion is for more serious conversations, but more often than not, they end up veering off into Debate Corner territory.

I can't see any difference between The Usual Spot and General Chat, except that The Usual Spot is more active, and slightly less serious. General Chat often overlaps with Discussion.

Then there's the Spamzone, which is everything above, but with no restrictions.

Are all of these forums actually necessary, and can someone show me an example of a post that would specifically go in each of these forums, and nowhere else?

This is my understanding, really Repliku is the one who put together The Usual Spot so I may not be correct, but here goes:

    - Discussion is for just that, casual discussion. Anything that is not a debate, but still a serious matter that you wish to discuss. Posts should have a bit of beef to them, but we're not expecting essays here, those are best saved for the Debate Corner.

    - General Chat, while it can overlap a bit with Discussion, is directed more towards things about you--dreams, preferences, fears, etc etc.

    - Spam is just for any sort of miscellaneous posting/nonsense. To be honest, several topics posted in there could be put into Discussion, but my rule of thumb is that if the person put it in Spam and isn't new, they probably put it there for a reason (whether it be that they want more hits or that they don't mind if people stray off topic).

The Usual Spot is a separate forum to General Chat, even though General Chat is a child forum. Where does The Usual Spot stand?

The Usual Spot itself is kind of a non-spam Spam Zone--topics that don't quite merit a post count, but that if put in spam would probably stray off topic. It's mostly forum games & the like.
