The Demon's Crystals

"What do you mean no?" he asked. "Don't you want to find out what's wrong with you and have it taken care of?"

 

"I know what it is," she said, crying a little more

 

"What is it? What's wrong?" he asked.

 

Shiro continued to fight against his sister. Turning sharply, he bit Kuro's arm with an iron grip. Kuro roared in pain. Her retaliation was punching Shiro below his ribcage, which slackened his jaws. She knocked him out by hitting a pressure point.
Suddenly, her wolf ears twitched to a sound of Jordyn's voice. She growled and hauled Shiro's still wolf body over her shoulder. Kurokiba emerged through the trees to where Jordyn and Frank were.

Kuro was aware that she still looked like a demon, but didn't have time to care because she collapsed when she passed the treeline.

 

"Her grip.. Her soul.. It's in my heart," she said, letting out another yelp as it tightened a little more.

 

"Can't you fight it?" he asked, worried.

 

Kuro growled weakly, "The demon has a hold on you...fight back. As hard as you can...think of everyone, everything but the demon..."

 

"I can't fight back. She weakened me... She burst out all my aura," she said. She gripped it harder as she felt the last tightness before she closed her eyes, finally drifting out.

 

"Jordyn?" he asked, frightened. "Jordyn!? JORDYN!?!?"

 

Jordyn felt dead... Like her pulse was gone, and it had just faded away on the last beat. Her body felt cold and limp... She felt... sad.. She could feel Frank still holding her. His warm hands kept her up. She could feel it.
She wasn't dead.. Just... Tired... she couldn't feel a heartbeat come from her body. She couldn't tell whether she was dead or alive.

 

Kurokiba growled once more. Struggling to her feet, she stumbled over to Jordyn. Half-collapsing, half-sitting, Kuro dropped down beside her.
"Take this," Kuro said, putting the wolf necklace arund Jordyn's neck. She already felt the purity leave her blood, turning back into her halfdemon self. "That pendant is designed to keep the strongest demonic blood at bay..."
Kuro, with the lack of power and loss of blood, also fell to unconsciousness.

 

Frank started crying. She felt cold in his arms. He wasn't sure if she was dead or alive. He put his ear to her chest to listen for a heartbeat.

 

"We can camp here," he said, quickly going through the motions of making a fire.

After flying through that cloud, he was soaked, and was sure that this girl, what had she called herself? Kiara? Something like that. Anyway he still had some unfinished business to attend to.

"Kiara was it? Look I have a fire in the shelter and food at the back of the cave, in a hole under a very flat rock, its easy to lift so you should be set. I have to go somewhere but I will be right back. An don't worry, the demon's can't find you as long as you stay within 50 feet of the cave, its hidden by Bard magic."

With that said, he lifted off. What he didn't want to tell Kiara was that he had heard a howl. It wasn't a wolf howl, or rather a normal wolf anyway, it was a demon. Ed flew straight and true until he came upon a clearing. In it he saw a girl who took his breath away. He shook his head and examined her wounds. She had many tooth marks and he pulled out a mixture, gently smearing them onto her wounds. He debated about bringing her back to camp with him. Since it was growing dark, he decided to take her with him.

 

Kiara stood next to the cave. She had a fear of small dark spaces, and she was in no mood to face a fear of her own. She started walking in the woods. Maybe she could now try to find someone.

he ripped off some braches from trees and began to make a fire

 

Ed gently lifted the injured Kuro.

He flew with her on his back, trying to be as smooth as possible. He arrived at the edge of the fifty feet radius and found Kiara walking around, closer to the border.

"Hey careful, remember 50 feet."

He retracted his wings and walked into the cave. Looking around, he constructed a bed out of loose hay. He lay the girl down on it and went back outside.

 

Kuro felt moonlight flitter into her vision. She put her arm to her head and felt some kind of cream...or something.
"'The hell...?"
She opened her eyes, then closed them again quickly, as she felt like she had gotten a concussion of some sort. "Trees," she thought numbly. Ah yes. She had been slammed through several of those. "Blood," Yep, she was bleeding too. Though not as bad as she had remembered.
Kurokiba braved the moon's light again and growled, "Ugh...Kami, I feel worse than the time I had a sake drinking contest with the kids back home...And that was a long time ago..."
She got up and took in her surroundings. Then she sniffed the air, detecting the presence of two others she didn't know. One scent was close to Jordyn's, and the other she was trying to register in her mind to match the aura.

Grunting, she limped to where the mouth of the cave was.

 

He carried Jordyn to the Hospital to see if they could revive her.

 

Ed whirled as he heard a grunt from the mouth of the cave. It was the girl from before. And she had done it again. He rushed forward and stood in front of her. He didn't touch her but his arms were out slightly just in case she might fall.

"I really don't think you should move, but that's just my opinion."

 

Jordyn felt something along her move. She tried to call out, but her throat felt dry. Not even enough to almost breathe. It was hard for her to stay in this motion. Her finger twitched slightly, and she let out a coughing breath of air. She felt her heartbeat start again. Wow... SHe couldn't really believe her heart had stopped. It felt... not even real to her. It scared her.

Kiara went out of the boundary lines. She thought she had heard something. She watched some guy, carrying a girl through to forest, which seemed to be the path back ot town. She followed him, already interested.. The girl in his arms looked so familiar to her.
