The Demon Slayers vs. the Demons

"Cloudroth, you have the necklace. Let me take Kyle. I will not leave without him."

Ceri stood defiantly in front of Ultimus.

"Let me have him please."

 

"Only if you and the other demon slayers throw down your weapons and allow me to take over this world." he said, tightening his grip on Kyle's throat.

 

"You think that I would trade millions of lives for one? Kyle cannot harm you. Let me have him. Your kind have been abused and mistrusted, I know. You are reinforcing the bigotry with your behavior. I was hoping you could be civilised. If you have any emotions I beg you release him if you have compassion. Holding him brings you no advantage."

 

"My only goal in life is to rule the world and I will do anything to make it happen! Now, throw down your weapons or he dies!"

 

Ceri entered his mind.

'If you won't be civil I will fight. I don't want to hurt you. I have learned of greater demons than you, and I have spoken with them. Release him or I will destroy your mind.'

 

I am more powerful than you could ever imagine! he thought to her. Cloudroth may have been able to be hurt by your mental attacks, but I, Ultimus, the ultimate demon, am immune to them.

 

'Hate to burst your bubble Toots but I'm upgraded as well. Another demon helped me. He doesn't like you either I think. Only your little brat likes you. I'm asking nicely for the last time. Please give Kyle to me. Do you need a reason why I need him back or something? It has nothing to do with demon slaying.'

Ceri closed her eyes and gathered her powers. Her hands moved out to her sides. There was a tangible energy in the air.

'I will die for him. You do know that.'

 

Nicole stood beside Ultimus, watching what was happening...

 

"You love him, don't you?" he asked.

 

'I love all my friends and would die for any one of them. Do you understand what that is like. People serve you for power. Does anyone follow you just because they want to? Yes, I love him in as much as I love those I care about. Is this alien to you?'

 

"That's not what I meant. What I meant was are you in love with him."

 

'Does that really make a difference?'

 

"I'm just curious." he said. "So, are you or aren't you?"

 

"I think she is in love with him...by the way those two protect each other when I fight them" Nicole said fiddling with her rope...

 

'His life is in the balance and you're curious about my personal life? Ok, let's say yes. Does that make you happy.'

 

Kyle regained conciousness and opened his eyes.

"Did you hear that Kyle? Ceri just admitted that she is in love with you. How SWEET!" He threw Kyle at her the moment he said 'SWEET'. "Come Nicole, it is time to begin our preperations for taking over this planet." He disappeared through a portal.

 

Nicole did as she was told....

 

Ceri caught Kyle.

"Not good. Great! Now the dumbest demon thinks we are in love. Still it saved your life. Don't say a word."

Ceri picked him up and carried him through the portal.

"And I was having such a good day...."

 

"Is it true?" he asked.

 

Ceri gnashed her teeth and tried not to scream.

"What's it to you anyway? It saved your life. Get over it."
