The Demon Slayers vs. the Demons

"I doubt you would be if you really knew the truth. I can't explain everything. You'll have to trust me. I need a little private time."

 

Philippe finished off the turkey leg and decided to find a room to sleep in. He walked up the stairs and turned a corner. This place is big! He walked down a hallway and stopped. Which do should I try? Philippe went over to the first door in the hallway and carefully opened it up. It felt like he was snooping, but when he saw the soft bed in the corner, that feeling went away. In its place, Philippe felt unbelievably tired. He dragged his feet of to the bed and collapsed onto it. In seconds Philippe was asleep, but not a restful sleep. He started to dream of past memories....

 

"Okay. But if you ever need anything, anything at all, just let me know." He went back downstairs and started eating the turkey.

 

Ceri listened to him go and then slumped on the bed.

'Get out of my head Darkeon. Let me have some privacy.'
Ceri sent a psychic blast into the night.
she curled up on the bed and fell asleep sobbing while clutching a pillow.

 

He finished the turkey in five minutes and went back upstairs. He went to the room on the far right side of the hallway, his room. He went in and climbed into his giant bed.

 

"i guess ill leave you in peace for now. i must go and rethink my plan. some things need to be changed to fit the circumstances." he laughed as he left her mind for the time being. he began to meditate.

 

'You woke me up Darkeon. You're going to pay for that. I hope the other demons tear you apart.'

Ceri gave up trying to sleep. She slipped out of the room, but instead of going downstairs she went further into the castle. She was curious about Kyle, and knew that this would be a good way to find out how a half demon could afford a castle and what else she might need to know about the others. She slipped past a room where she heard sleeping. One down and the others were downstairs. She disappeared into the darkness.

 

He heard Ceri walking around, but he didn't do anything. He knew she wanted to be alone. He rolled on his side but sleep escaped him.

 

darkeon laughed. the other demons where weak. he had already defeated darklor and soon he would take cloudroth. he just had to wait for the right time.

 

Ceri had checked the rooms so far with no luck. Empty guest rooms. The door at the far right of the hallway was closed and the room was quiet. Ceri couldn't resist the challenge. She had checked the rest so this was the last one. There must be something interesting in this castle.

She turned the handle quietly and slipped into the darkness.

(She is unaware Kyle is upstairs.)

 

Philippe's breathing was soft as he dreamed of how life used to be....

"Philippe! Philippe! Come see what I bought at the market today!"

A boy's eyes brightened as his small hands pushed himself off the floor, where he was playing with his train set. He ran into the hallway of their mansion and down the stairs. The young boy stopped as he saw a beautiful woman standing in the doorway, her slender arms open for a hug. The boy smiled and ran into her arms.

"Mother, your home! How I missed to so!" The boy said, still clutching the woman tightly.

The woman's laughter filled the air with joy, "Why, Philippe, I have only been gone for a few hours, but I have a surprise for you. Come outside and see."

The little boy, Philippe, ran outside as fast as he could, his blonde hair blown back by a sudden wind. Then he saw it. "A new bow! Thank you Mother! Now I will practice extra hard to get as good as Father and Brother."

He turned around, wondering why he couldn't here his Mother's laughter anymore. Mother was standing at the bottom steps, looking up at the sky, horror on her face. Philippe looked up. Demons were swooping down from the sky. He froze in terror as one came down and landed in front of him. Philippe couldn't move as the demon smiled menacingly and raised its claws. Philippe closed his eyes, waiting for the pain, but it didn't come. He opened his eyes and saw Mother's wide eyes and the blood soaking her white dress. Mother had stepped in front of him, taking in the attack.

"Run, Philippe," Mother said. Philippe looked at her, tears filling is blue eyes, knowing he would never see her again, or hear the melody of Mother's laughter fill the mansion.

Philippe turned and ran across the lawn. He almost reached the edge of the forest, but heard the shriek of many demons swarming the house, and turned to face the mansion, his home. His father was in his study. His bother in his room. His baby sister crying in her cradle. Philippe turned and ran into the forest, tears steaming down his face.

Philippe woke up screaming.

 

"Hello Ceri." he said, not moving. "You need anything?"

 

"What the...." Ceri panicked. How did he get in there? She couldn't admit she was snooping.

"Err.....looking for the bathroom."

That sounded so lame and the bedroom she was in had an ensuite. Too late she realised he would think she was lying (which was the truth) or that she was extremely stupid. Worse still he would think she was looking for him.

 

darkeon entered philippe's mind. "how would you like to get revenge on one of the demons that killed your family?" he asked

 

Philippe blinked in surprise.

"How do you know what happened? Who are you?"

 

"You're way off coarse then. Didn't you see the sign?" He walked out and pointed to the sign above the door, which reads: KYLE'S ROOM. "But you're not looking for the bathroom, are you?" he asked, raising one eyebrow.

 

"my name is.....darkeon. i know about what happend because i see many things through meditation and i know the demon who lead the group that slaughtered your family. now tell me, would you like too know his name?

 

"It is dark out there and no, I didn't see the sign."

He's not buying this rubbish, she thought.

"Err..bye." Ceri ran back to her room and locked the door.

 

A demon is talking to me in my mind? Oh, he probably heard that!

His curiosity got the better of him, though.

"Who was he?"

 

"Bye." he said, chuckling. He went back in his room and pretended to fall asleep in his bed.
