Ceri smiled. "You need strong backup. My power is in my mind. I will get stronger yet."

She lay back and closed her eyes, resting.

 

He lay next to her and kissed her on the cheek.

 

"I felt good today. Something fell into place when I fought. I don't think I belong on my own, but I should be part of a team. You are the leader, I am your follower."

 

"I don't think of you like that. I think of you more like an equal and a girlfriend." he said.

 

"Then I fight at your side and will die for you."

Ceri kissed him on the cheek.

"You need a bodyguard."

 

"As will I." he said, putting his arms around her.

 

"I have a feeling that now that Nicole has been defeated we will hear from Ultimus. He won't take an insult like that easily. I suggest we are vigilant. Who knows what might lie ahead?"

 

"We'll just have to work hard and try our best. When you are well, of course."

 

"I grow stronger as time passes. Natalie gave me a potion. I'm just resting. Do you want something to eat? We have both had a hectic time. I'll get something from the kitchen. You stay here and rest."

 

"I'm fine. I don't need anything."

 

"Well I do."

Ceri hugged him and then padded down the stairs. She wanted to make sure that everything was secure. Her strength was returning quickly, probably due to the demon in her. She reached out with her mind.

'Demon Slayers. Anything to report?'

 

"Besides the fact of me joining not that much I would say."

 

'And you are? Sorry, I have a kind of memory loss. Have we met outside combat?'

 

"I'm Tacole,Can I help Kyle I heard he was hurt."
