All these thing could happen, though i mainly agree with the whole technology and global warming thing, but i think i won't happen in our lifetime, though we feel some of the effects (we already are)

i have a theory that i thought up wen i was just spitting out words with no logical thinking that maybe the ice age that killed the dinosaurs was a nucular ice age that was brought on by a prior human race and dinosaurs were biologically developed animals used as weapons and in the last war a massive nuclear explosion was meant to wipe out the dinosaurs and erase the human race horrible mistake.
BUT...thats just a bunch of words i thought of that seemed to fit together and hold no scientific evidence and could just be a lode of crap.

Not "could just be a lode of crap", "is a load of crap". We have evidence of ancient humans, and they are certainly anything but advanced, both mentally and physically speaking. Certainly not possesing of any nuclear capabilities.

Well, we all know that we won't be able to see that happen. But one thing for sure, there are other planets that we never explored, I mean if there is life out there it will be a long time before it's our time to go.

The day we all die is when some does the stupidest thing that causes the world to explode.

hmmm i've been thinking and when we all die out there might be a new dominate species and their going to discover all the things we did....

Who knows, there are several theories and endless possibilities but nobody knows for sure. There's really no way to tell for sure, but since we're here I think we should make the best out of life and try to live like there's heaven on earth.

    My turn to post here.

Well what I think is that first...we don't be extinct in 2012, dying that early? Hah. I think that it's humans that destroy the world. And they will. Probably wars of who's dominant, racism, and more killing. At the end everyone will die.

Another theory is that water would cover the Earth, and I don't mean we'll live a civilization like Atlantis and meet the Little Mermaid >_> I mean permanent cover over the earth. Water is increasing. Other than that, I agree with the other things you guys say. And about the first topic starter, Holloween? No wonder it's sopposed to be a scary holiday. Devil gettin' on us eh? XD

Some of the tech and global warming is taking place as we speak. =\

Here in wisonsin, even, the temp. was the highest it's been since 1932.

I think that's a good estimation, but it's too exact. I'd believe something along the lines of

    X years - X years.

But that's not a likely date. But since it's by professionals, it's the best one yet.
Sounds more like you can't accept the fact that maybe your generation may be the last. Or you're afraid, moreover. (Not saying you are.)

And according to a very reliable source, good 'ol bible, the end is doomed for 2066. So that's right after your generation. Though I won't bring that into this. =P

lol, yea, i personally don't care, it's really not my problem. but with the technology we have, i think we would survive could we could just use a heater, don't u think? and wasn't there supposed to be a global earthquake in 2010? THAT'S what i'm worried about!!!

Oh **** . . . . Like I needed to hear were all going to die on ?-?-? . . . . . . The Earth is going to die someday, but technology moves rapidly fast and we'll come up with a solution before it happens, unless you believe in the day the Aztec or Maya calendar ends which says the world ends in less then 20 years  . Even if the human race will die that doesn't mean that some might survive somehow, haven't you heard that they already have or plan to have a hotel in orbit around earth and planned to get it finished in a couple of years! I think that we will survive, or most likely if we don't, the organisms or whatever that created us will appear again and it will take along time but they will make another species like the humans on another planet.

Discussions like this always remind me of a line from Doctor Who when they witness the Eatrh being destroyed as a result of the Sun finally dying.

And it's true, people always expect the worst in life, and if something ever good happens, we always believe that it won't last. Maybe it's true, maybe it won't last, but if that's true, then the bad things can't last either.

They always tell you to live life like today could be your last day on earth.

I say live life like you've got a future.

I think there are waaaay to many changing variables to calculate the exact date. For example, who's to say in the near future we won't begin to mass produce alternative energy sources and slow down global warming?

I think the scientists may be correct if only based on our present condition...assuming that we are unchanging and static people. Truth is, as the years go by, we are always making new decisions that either benefit or worsen the length of our survival on earth.

It is my dream to see the end of the world, not in an evil way though.
What an honor it would be for us to be the last humans.

Anyway, screw all your theories, I've got my own.

My first theroy is volcanoes, yes the world itself will destroy the world and end human life.

The volcano beneath Yellowstone park is one of the biggest in the world, and it's active. There are earthquakes and small volcanoes popping up everywhere around it. And at this point it could blow any second.

When it does, it will destroy the whole eastern part fo the united states, killing everyone in it and rabidly chaning geography due to magma. The ash particles that would fill the sky would cover the planet, burning everyone alive, or poisening them and suffocating them. The world would be covered in lava, and it would pretty much have to start again. However it wouldn't get the chance, because in the time it takes for life to begin again on Earth, the Sun will have died.

My second theory is sort of based on global warming.

The oceans are all salt water, and warmer. But due to melting of the polar ice caps, fresh water is being leaked into the oceans, cooling them and in turn slowing thier currents. By slowing ocean currents, the air fluxuation of the planet is then slowed, cooling it down completely.

A flash freeze is a small period of time when the Earth is thrown inot a mini ice age. A small town in Canada experienced this back in 1999, and it was BAD.

The entire planet would experience a flash freeze, as the clouds slow to the point where they nearly cover the planet. The sun won't get through and we will cool. The world won't be ready for something like this, the oceans would freeze, due to all the fesh water in it, the continents would be covered in snow, and the entire human race would freeze to death.

My third and final theory involves black holes, but it's the most unlikely theory of any, so I won't go into details.

black holes? lol. actually millions of years later, scientists said that the sun will explode which would result in a black hole

Our sun isn't big enough even to make a suficiant supernova, let alone a black hole. Don't get me wrong, the sun will explode and destroy the galaxy, but our sun is extremely small in comparison to most other stars.

And for black holes I meant the ones we already have.

In 2004 a star on the end of the milky way galaxy was seen leaving the galazy at surprising speeds, scientists speculate that there is a small black hole right outside the milky way, created thousands of years ago that's been slowly sucking us in.

Within a few thousands years we'll probobly be sucked in...:/

im scared now...........that makes total sense........but i like the black hole one the best......it seems like a more fitting end for our poor dying planet:(

I think the human race will end because it will have evolved beyond human. I think we will be Morlocks.
