Apparently scientists have calculated the year when the human race will cease to exist. It will be on Halloween, and in the year 2,252,006.

The date was announced by a team of European geologists and palaeontologists after millions of fossils from central Spain were analysed

It confirms suspicions that mammal species have an average lifespan of 2.5 million years and modern man has already been around for 250,000 years.

The reason for the life cycle is thought to be a blip in the Earth's orbit which means it does not get as close to the sun as usual, triggering rapid cooling.

A report in Nature Journal says the subsequent ice age would destroy all human life.

    Info is from - http://uk.news.yahoo.com/12102006/140/revealed-day-ll-die.html

So that makes you think, were there humans around millions of years ago? but an Ice Age wiped them all out.

I was going to post this! xD

Isn't it peculiar that life will end on Hallowe'en? O_o

Anyway, you have to remember that the scientists haven't taken into account meteorites or global warming. It's basically just an educated guess.

That's ridiculously inaccurate. We'll easily overpopulate the Earth before that happens. The growth of the population is increasing exponentially, and we'll easily reach carrying capacity before 2,250,000 years pass. The intense lack of resources once carrying capacity is reached could concievably wipe out humanity, as well as all other life on this planet.

Besides, 2,250,000 years ought to be more than enough time to have the technology to move planets and affect orbits, or control the atmosphere and environment so that a slight change doesn't matter.

We'll die before then, I can guarantee it. Humans will NOT live forever. My theory is that the human race will be wiped out during my lifetime.

Let me guess, Global Warming will have something to do with it, it's pretty much too late to stop it now

I'm happy I'll be dead before that happens. The world has been over-poluted and, I guess, is destined to be wiped out. I've been thinking, every puff of smoke that comes from a grill, fire, or anything is contaminating our world. Even car exhaust.

Knowing scientists now, and like everyone else has said, it'll have something to do with Global Warming. I've heard a ton of crap like the Earth will go all weirdish and run into the sun, or that another huge meteor will crash and kill us all...another funky rumor, of course...

Of course these are all theories, well an Ice Age will happen, but we never know we might survive it, who knows i mean come on it's 2,500,000 years away like we are going to care

I persoanlly don't think we'll die from Global Warming, I think we'll die from an abuse of technology. And it'll happen during our lifetime.

I definitley agree with you, 100%.

And wow, scientists must be really dumb if they didn't take into account how much species have evolved, and technology has changed since prehistoric times. Just.. wow.. what kind of scientists do we have, if they can't even accurately calculate something, while comparing it to an evolved species thousands of years later?

    How umm...bleak of you. O_O

But it's a possibility, I suppose. Personally, I think it'll be a few hundred years after our lifetime.

I wonder if the end of the world would be cool to watch. >.>

If you look at it, Global Warming happens from technology.

There's a lot of ways we could die, *notes that sounds gothic* I think though that we'll kill each other at the end.

I agree with Roxas. We'll all die due to technology. If there was ever an entire week where all electricity went out, we would suffer greatly. We rely so much on technology and electrictiy, we can't live without it.

Although, over population/global warming is a very good possiblity.

I believe we'll die in the year 2012, which is in 6 years. A few years back, I've heard about the Bible Code that can predict things, such as the terrorist attack and world war II. What geologists found out was that the bible code is almost at its last chapter which states words like "2012, meteor, earth, hit" which can deduce 3 things. A meteor will hit earth, but humans will remain and start over, A meteor will hit and destroy everyone, or earth will hit the meteor, destroying it and surviving. But I highly doubt we'd have that technology by then. Plus, recently there have been meteor warnings all over the news the past couple of decades. So I believe the bible code and know we're going to die VERY soon.

and if not, technology will destroy us. You know what happens if technology replaced every job in the world. It will be extremely hard for others to have jobs in an overpupulated world, so everyone will become bankruppt, which means everyone will live in the streets, which means we wont need world order and live like animals while robots replace human beings. And what happens when animals are hungry? They kill others just to survive and the world will be chaotic and a hell.

i agree with sara and roxas.....we are all going to most likely die by our own stupid intentions( can anyone say 'nuclear war' or 'WW3')

thats rediculous to put all your fears in a book.....it might as well say that im gonna grow a heart someday(highly doubtful:rolleyes: )

Kairi, I doubt we'll die in 2012. Think about it, the Bible can be interpreted in many ways and languages. Just because one says '2012, meteor hit' doesn't mean Earth is going to get hit by a meteor.

Seriously i think we will be wipe out cause of the overuse of resources but there is a way to counter this, i don't quite believe meteor, another thing about people wipe out is human killing human (war)
