The Cold Hearts

She put her hand over her mouth, covering her fangs. She felt scared mow that he knew. She looked down and nodded.

 

sam watched them then turned and started to leave

 

Santeria looked down and saw Mike starting to leave.
"Excuse me for a minute ," she said then jumped down branches and out of the tree. She jumped in front of Mike.
"Where are you going?" she asked

 

he looked at her

"i like to be alone seeing as ive always been alone"

 

"Don't you want to make friends? I'll be your friend," she said smiling

 

He jumped down next to her. "Don't leave, we haven't even met yet. I'm Scotty and I think vampires are cool."

 

mike walked past her

"you would never understand"

 

She ran in front of him.
"I would understand. I haven't had a single friend either, and I always got taunted because everyone though I was a freak. I do understand you. More than you would think. I would rather have had no one talk to me," she said.

 

"oh yea"

mike spun around lifting his shirt to show a scared and beaten back

"you got beat up to?"

 

"I'll be a friend to both of you." he said.

 

She frowned and tears came to her eyes. She turned her head so he couldn't see her cry.

 

"Ouch." he said, wincing a little. "If you want you can come live with me so you will never get hurt like that again."

 

She looked back at mike.
"No one should be hurt just because they are different" she said.

 

mike just looked and started running

"try to catch me if you can ill think about it"

 

"Excuse me for another minute," she said then took of running. Where she was half vampire, she could run quickly. She caught up to beside Mike.
"It's not a contest Mike. I can outrun you any day," she said

 

Scotty sat down and waited for them to return. "That vampire girl is pretty cute." he said softly to himself.

 

Santeria poked Mike then giggled. She spread her wings then took off into the sky. She flew back to where Scotty was.
"I'm back!" she said energetically.

 

"Alright! Hey, want to come over my house?"

 

She grinned and giggled
"Sure," she said.

 

"Okay!" he said, and took her hand to take her to his house.
