Wikipedia Page Seems to be a somewhat typical "Drunk college students spend a weekend in a cabin. Bad things happen" story at first, but with some strange sci-fi twist. Wel, at least Chris Hemsworth is there to hold my hand. Also, lol at "We should split up." "Yeah, that's a good idea." "...REALLY?"
Yeah, this almost seems like the cookie cutter formula for teens getting slaughtered. I find it funny that Josh Wheadon (the director of the Avengers) cast Chris Hemsworth for this movie. Anyway, it should be interesting as we see more trailers pop up in the future.
Joss Whedon* Actually, I'm not entirely sure, but Chris was cast for The Cabin in the Woods before Thor (while his younger brother actually made it further in the casting call of Thor originally).
Oh hey, there' s also Fran Kranz ! He was brilliant in Joss Whedon' s Dollhouse. Joss Whedon' s name alone is enough to catch my interest anyway.
I just saw this movie, and I was like "Do What?!" through the whole movie. I understood the plot and everything, but it was a really weird movie. Lots of freaky stuff for sure, but it was a great watch. If your old enough to see it, or got people to take you to see it cause your not old enough, watch it, it's pretty good. Stoner kid was my favorite character, he trolled. All I can say.
I think the whole (and great move) was the ad placements If and when you watch the movie, think about it's been marketed. Nothing really reveals to its actual true motive, it just looks like another teen slasher.
I agree with Rayku. I thought it would be a typical teen horror movie. I was wrong. I loved it. It was crazy, but I adored it. Caught me off guard in all of the right ways. Very, very clever advertising. I hope it's getting the attention it deserves. Spoiler: legit spoiler The ending was a little "Seriously?!" I would have killed him in a heartbeat or asked if I could be sacrified. Not worth the entire world ending, bro.
I saw it and was amazed, I've seen it twice and i still couldn't count all of them. And the world really does need some chaos, just saying.
For some reason, The Cabin in the Woods reminded me of Hunger Games and Scooby Doo. It was strange but interesting.
