It reminds him of a lost and damaged childhood, filled with pain and suffering. Every time you sing, it brings back those times in vivid detail.

Would you have him suffer like that, simply so you could practice your vocals?

 

D: D'aww, please don't do those eyes DX..... *Sigh* I....just don't like to sing, so I don't like to hear someone when he/she sings...

... I'm mostly singing songs that have come out in the past few year... If that reminds him of his childhood, something must be really effed up. And if I can't practice my vocals, you'll be denying one of the ways I express myself, and expressing oneself is one of the five things a human needs to stay mentally somewhat stable.

Technically you can't hear anything, it's teh interweb.
