yeah that thing in the start is mangum (other name demon gun) at sleep mode and after that mangum shoot mode (or waked mode call it what ever you want) ive been watching some of those episodes so i know.

 

accually it's called the Magun which means demon gun in Japanese and it's not modes it's just the way it is (not ruining the plot), i've seen up to the last episode (still gotta watch that).
