    i feel like i should have nominated better, but i seriously took like the ten people i knew off the top of my head and just put them in for things i thought they could do. the majority of the things were left blank. 99% of the people on khv just blanked from my mind.

    I am not upset that you are surprised, but you shouldn't campaign if you do not expect it to work (to the point of shock when it does). It comes off as annoying.

    Imagine if someone tried to sell you something knowing that you would not buy it.

    It comes across as obnoxious more than annoying. Chances are that you do not get nominated because you do not show much of yourself. If the most people see of you is you asking for nominations, then it comes off as just wanting to win for the sake of it rather than your actually deserving them.

    That and self-promotion is generally obnoxious. Only a few people can pull it off successfully.
