My day has been getting steadily worse and worse. I've been hoping to see some friends that I haven't seen in years tomorrow, and, at the very last second, my parents deny my request to go. This is the third time such a trip has come up, and the third time they've done this to me in such a manner. This is not a 'typical friend visit'; these are the first friends I've ever made. Granted, I was hitching a ride with a group who was going to hear a professional speaker, so my reasoning for going was a selfish one, but they knew how badly I wanted to see them, especially since I've been trying for the last three years.

D: I think you deserve to go. Friend meetings are always so speical and heart-warming...Ohh, how fun they are ;~; I dont understand why they wont let you..Its not that its dangerous and its your friends...
I dont believe your decision is very selfish..Well <____> In a way yes but when I think of selfish I think of bratty little kids grabbing toys from other kids...So...I dont think it is

 

The trip is two hours away from my present location, I'd leave at 4 and I wouldn't be back until midnight. Our means of transportation are two vans, one driven by a student, the other by a teacher. There are 8 total, counting myself and the teacher. Part of the problem is my parents don't like the idea of very little parental supervision, as well as a student driving, especially so late at night.
