Around Feb. I met and started getting to know this girl, from Brazil. As time went on, we started hanging out more and more, thinking we had a lot in common. We didn't really get into a whole lot of personal information at first, mainly becasue we kept getting interrupted (my friends kept popping up at the worst times). After eating out with her, and going to a few of her tennis matches, we quickly grew close. We talked about dating each other; I was hesitant, because I had never dated anyone before, and we had known each other less than a month, and that she would be transferring out to another state next semester. She already had a boyfriend before me, during when she came here, so she said she was okay with the idea of a long distance relationship, etc. I took a chance, and we started dating around March; she had already met several of my relatives already, so everyone approved of her.

We quickly discovered how different we were. Brazill is a much...warmer culture, compared to America; they're used to openly hugging, kisses on the cheek, and/or holding hands, with complete strangers. As time went on, we found a lot of things that we disagreed on, culturally; she was willing to do 'this', I wasn't, and it upset her, but she tried to put it aside and make it work, anyway (a lot of agree to disagree). Another thing she had that I just couldn't catch was her 'subtlty'; whenever she needed to do something, she would do it subtly, but I would never catch it. What led to our breakup was a difference of opinion we had that also led to a misunderstanding; it ended with her thinking I wasn't supporting/taking her side, and we broke up the next day, agreeing to just be friends.

What's put me in my present predicament is, a couple of weeks back, during finals week, we had a few tornadoes hit. She was in another part of town, I was on campus, and we were texting each other back and forth. Now, I tell some pretty outrangeous jokes, where if someone was walking by, whether they know us, or the person they talk about, they automatically know, 'oh, he's kidding'. That's kind of hard to do over text messages. I tried telling some about us via text message, and apparently she told me to stop subtly (please note, we had already talked about an alterante, more obvious method, of telling me to stop, but she didn't use it). That night was apparently the last straw, she snapped at me, we argued and fought, she told me that she needed time to blow this over since she swas so mad at me, and she hasn't called/texted me back since. I'm so tired of the stupid drama between us that I'm not texting or calling her to see if we're good. If she calls and wants to work it out, great, I'll see what we can do, but I'm tired of all this.

Occasionally, though, she keeps popping up into my head, reminding me that I still miss her.

 

:glomp: aw nii-nii....she sounds like she's confused ur doing the right thing! i think that thos people need to stay outta the way you should hasve to told them 'this is our relationship worry about yourself' and you should have tolfd her but it's all up to her....*hugs* my poor big bro......

sorry i havent been on in a while/responding to anyones messages. Ive been so incredibly busy with life in general.

Ive taken up an interest in photography. I prefer photographing sports and people, but I saw a lighting oppertunity and took it. I would really apprechiate if you guys commented on the thread with suggestions comments your favorite (because i might enter one of these in an amatur photo compeition) etc.

Well this is a tester shot I did a couple of days before expo with my webcam. It's not very good quality though. I'll post a better one when Zack puts them up. Which might not be until tomorrow or tuesday.

They're very pretty Rosie. I think the composition and colour on them all is really good.
