It's like baseball... only the bats and balls are bigger, the pitching styles is different, its mainly played by girls, and it has a dirt infield! :D ... And some rules are different...
(The best i can explain it...)

Rounders? It's basicly baseball I think.

There are two teams and they each take a time to bat or field. And the fielders put forward someone to be a Backstop and a Bowler. (Which is the Pitcher)
Bowler throws the ball at the Batter and if the miss the ball the Backstop has to retrive it but they still have to run, but if anyone catches it before it hits the ground the batter is out and can't play until the teams switch back over. If they do hit it, or miss it and the backstop doesn't catch it they have to run around the four bases, stopping on one if they think the ball will be passed to the Fielder on the base they're heading to. Then there's a few rules even I don't get so the school ignores them XD

lol, sounds mostly like baseball xP i think americans ripped off that idea but renamed it baseball and renamed the names of the players x3 thats what they did with alot of sports, just like how we call kicking a ball into a goal Soccer instead of football, cause we call another sport football(even though the only time you kick it is when you kick it over the goalpost xP)

 

American Football is basicly rugby I think...
