...please take out that Mirror Edge scene or at least improve it.

Otherwise, I'm pretty excited. Glad to see Gwen Stacy and not MJ. Still wondering if Adder will turn into Proto Goblin.

This just in: No J. Jonah Jameson D:

I think it looks pretty good. =] The movies with Tobey came out when I was young and I really enjoyed them, so I'll probably go see this one. Can't say I've ever read the comics though, so I can't really comment on accuracy/plot lines.

I have to agree with this.

If I recall correctly, we've seen Spider-Man 1, 2, 3 -- in other words, all of the previous ones.
I think the first was with my mom and dad and 2 and 3 with just my mom.

Which kind of movie is this, though? Will it premiere in theaters or on television?

I'm quite excited for this. The new spiderman is quite good looking I did get goosebumps from that trailer and I shivered when he pulled the thread from his neck. I too have no idea about accuracy of the plot but one thing's for certain, the film itself looks very thrilling and full of adventure. I did enjoy Spiderman 1, 2 and 3 but MJ and Peter Parker annoyed me in that one- which isn't good. I am looking forward to this.

Meh. I think it's going to be pretty much the first movie remade with new actors. Therefore, Meh.

Even though the characters aren't the same ones?

Anyway. It looks more faithful to the older comic books. I wonder who the villain(s) are for this movie though. And I really hope that the mirrors edge bit was just a teaser trailer scene. It looked god awful, the CG they used for that isn't well done.

Anywho, shall we start the betting of how long will it be until Gwen Stacey dies? I think it'll be the next movie (unless this one bombs) where she dies around the half way point

i can't say i am excited, the trailer is a typical all mystery Hollywood wanna impress type and to be honest i stopped caring about super hero films some time ago.. I have to admit though, i like this guy a lot better, i think he fits the role very good.

I'm disappointed that there will not be J. Jonah Jameson. :(

Okay. Now that you've all seen that, you can understand why I'm really looking forward to this movie. I can honestly say that I STRONGLY DISLIKED the first three movies. Spider-Man is my hero. In every way possible of the saying. Actually, Peter Parker is my hero. As I said on the movie's Facebook page about Andrew taking the role of Peter/Spider-Man: "The point is that he doesn't look like some buff guy who could kick your ass by just looking at you. That's always been Peter Parker's charm. And that's why Spidey is my favorite super hero, because he's just like us under his mask. He's a lovable dork who has no shot at getting the girl of his dreams and falls over his own feet half the time he's walking. If you were a real fan, you'd know that. Andrew is perfect for the role." I stand by what I said there. Peter has inspired me in my day-to-day life, even now that I'm out of high school and done with all that stupid stuff, I can still look up to him as my hero (despite what happened to Peter in the Ultimate series). Andrew looks to be amazing. Emma Stone can pull off a very nice Gwen in my opinion. And although, being the hardcore Spidey fan that I am, I'm a little frustrated about some changes we can see in the preview (no, not the costume; I love that), I'm going to be at the movie theatre opening night to see this. The cast and crew of this movie have earned my respect and trust. I just hope that I haven't misplaced them.

I think it would be interesting to see new people playing as Spiderman and MaryJane. I just hope the new movie uses better graphics. This years superhero movies have been kinda bland.

As far as I know, MJ isn't in this movie (thank goodness!); it's Gwen Stacey (yay!). From the trailer, I'm betting the graphics will be outstanding. I'm betting they're going to enhance Spidey's webs because they're going by the comics and not doing some weird thing with Peter's wrists. I think they'll use practical effects for the actual webbing (and webbing mixture) and then green-screen Spidey swinging on it.

I only saw this trailer on Tuesday. The moment I saw the spider I was like "It's another Spiderman." I'm surprised that they're already making another one though. And why wasn't the Green Goblin in the trailer? I sense something wrong with this

What could be wrong about not having the Green Goblin? I personally like it. I think it's good they're using the Lizard (but I'm a bit biased 'cause I like that character so much). There's more to Spidey than the Green Goblin, just like there's more to Batman than the stupid Joker.

The Lizard is in this one? I thought they would bring in the Green Goblin like they did in the first since he's like the biggest enemy not too mention he was the first that they had him fight in the last. I didn't even see who the antagonist was going to be for this one

But, as Garx said, there's more to Spider-Man than the Green Goblin. A lot more.

and this isn't a remake or anything at all related to the last film series.

However, one of the confirmed characters is a guy named Adder, who Osborn tests the Green Goblin serum on in the comics and he becomes Proto-Goblin.

never read the comics. And you won't get me to read them. But I figured they got the major villains in the last 3 movies. Green Goblin, Sandman, Whatever that guy's name is who gets the black suit, and Doc Oc. I can't really think of any other villains that were huge in Spiderman. Maybe Kingpin, but that was Daredevil's movie. But if it's not a remake or related to the last series, you mean they're basically starting from scratch now?

The first 3 movies with Tobey McPooface (yeah, I went there) sucked. There was so much wrong with them that I'm not even going to start. Let's leave it at the face that this new movie looks like it's going to do some extreme justice to the comics. The Green Goblin isn't exactly "the biggest enemy" that Spidey had. He caused a crapload of trouble (and death) but I think some other antagonists top him. And the Lizard is the antagonist for this movie (from what I've heard).
Eddie (Venom in the 3rd movie) wasn't a bad guy! He was just upset and jealous.

Yes, they're starting over. Disney bought out Marvel so I assume that's a contributing factor to this decision. And the fact that Tobey won't come back.

You don't even have to read the comics. I've never read a single Spider-Man comic book in my life. Those are not all of the major villains. Just watch a single Spiderman show and you'll see.
Kingpin is also a big Spiderman villain, but since comics share a universe, heroes do share villains.

And yeah, they're starting over. Hence the different characters, actors, and Peter just getting his powers. It's a reboot, just like Batman Begins.

i will see it. that said, i'm suspicious of a reboot so soon. I hope they throw as much effort into the film as they do money
