The Age of the Heart

Auran smiled, and all four of his canine teeth, which were larger and sharper than normal, glinted from his top and bottom lips. "Is that a bad thing? Im faster and stronger than any human" He said proudly.

 

Gexln laughed quietly. "I have learnt many things, and i could learn many more. Though the thing i'm tracking seemed very much...in control of its darkness" Gexln said.

 

[/COLOR]Alice giggled, "No...but ---" her smile fell and she frowned, "Huh? Istar do you..." Istar growled, "I feel it, Alice. Time's running short."

Nevan barely gave it a second thought. "As are most annoying higher leveled Heartless. My question is...who are you?"

 

Gexln wasn't sure if he could trust Nevan or not. Trust was not something he could feel. Though he saw no reason to be threatened by him. "Gexln, Nobody of the dark. Yourself?" he asked.

 

Auran's top lip raised, baring all his teeth as his blue eyes darkened. "What is that?" He said grimly

 

Nevan snapped his mouth shut, making his teeth click as he smirked, "I see...a Nobody. Well this should be interesting." His mind flashed several different images at him and Nevan closed one eye, "You certainly do have an interesting aura about you." His bow disappeared in a blue flame and he crossed his arms, "I am Nevan, Keeper of the Flame and Guardian of Lady Margaret, Reaper of Lladranna."

Istar gave Auran a worried look and swallowed hard, "Well...it is my burden to bear. The Blue Reaper has come to this world in search of me." To Istar that was all that was needed to explain. Alice gripped Auran's hands tightly, "Nevan Irik, he's from our home. He protects Lady Margaret, a Reaper from Lladranna. Istar, the idiot that he is...killed Margaret when he attacked her home...You see...Margaret was my Master. My mother and father were so happy when the Reaper herself offered to train me."

 

Auran brought Alice so that she was pressed up against him. "In other words, this Nevan person is after your head?" Auran said, looking at Istar

 

"Guardian?" Gexln questioned, almost laughing. "I don't care much for guarding anything really..more often than not it sees you dead. Though this Lady Margaret person intrigues me. And anyway, what exactly are you guarding her from?" he asked.

 

Moth looked at Docyx with exasperation "right better get going." she picks up Docyx and puts him on her back as she begins to walk through the graveyard. "you really are more trouble than your worth you know that." she says to a still unconscious Docyx with the smallest of sad smiles on her face as she goes on her way.

 

Nevan chuckled and closed his eyes, "I was her guardian...Lady Margaret is dead. I'd rather be dead in her place. Guardians like me are replaceable...a woman of her stature...not so much. But...not all information can be disclosed at this time. Gexln...I ask only one thing from you. Aid me in finding Istar. A man most likely with Lady Alice, Keyblade Master and Elder Key of this world and my home. Find Lady Alice and we shall find Istar, the Traitor and murderer of Lady Margaret."

Istar nodded. "Istar's dead means mine as well. I cannot allow one from home to kill me before Nova's secrets are out in the open." She gave him a warm smile and sighed.

 

Gexln couldn't help but laugh. "Alice? You make her seem like royalty! She doesn't seem like it" he said whilst laughing. He then stopped laughing. "Hmm..about finding Istar though..that i can do. I like the sounds of a challenge" he said with a smirk.

 

Nevan gave him a curious look, "Is being a Keyblade Master not revered in this world as it is in mine? Lady Alice is like royalty. Her parents were great heros of Lladranna and she was chosen to train under the Reaper herself." Nevan looked to the sky for a long moment, "Uh...by-the-way...where are we?"

 

"Being a keyblade master? I see it as more of a curse than anything. Sure you're stronger..but i guess it makes you the target of everything" Gexln said, voice trailing off. He stopped suddenly, looking at Nevan. "I thought you knew. I never know where i'm going, i just walk and things have a habit of finding me" he stated.

 

Nevan gestured to his foreign clothing, "Do I look like I know where I am? I've never left Lady Margaret's side before...these worlds are new to me." He stopped talking and tilted his head, "Though I do sense human souls here. Obviously the place is populated." Nevan started off in a direction, "You're not a Guardian of a Reaper if you can't pick up a few of their tricks." His voice was light and his mood carefree as he walked.

 

Gexln hurried to keep up. He walked at a pace fast enough so that he wouldn't fall behind, but not so fast he'd overtake Nevan. Curiousity got the better of him. "You keep mentioning this reaper..what exactly does being a reaper mean? And how does someone become one?" he asked, eager to find out.

 

Nevan's face took on a serious look and he scowled at the ground, "Well...being a Reaper means you collect the souls of the Universe... Margaret always said souls are difficult to collect since it's only the heart that's released from the body when someone dies... I'm not sure how to become one...but, I know it isn't pretty or easy. There are paths in this world not blessed with light." Stopping Nevan took in the sight of Sleeping Beauty's castle. "Cool...a castlle! Race ya!" he smacked Gexln in the chest and bolted up the road leading to the front gate.

 

Gexln barely felt the hit. His mind was repeating one thing: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. He began running at a slow pace and gradually brought himself up to speed and caught up with Nevan. He chuckled quietly as he ran, and then turned to look at Nevan. "You should never underestimate an opponent, especially one like myself" he said. Not paying attention, Gexln tripped over a rock on the ground and tumbled headfirst onto the ground with a loud "oof". He sat up. "You know what? I can't be bothered to race" he said gruffly. Standing up, he opened a dark corridor and walked through it, emerging in front of the castle.

 

[/COLOR]Nevan laughed like a nut when Gexln tripped....until he couldn't feel his feet on the ground anymore. "What the....?" Looking up Nevan saw a fairy woman? "He's so heavy!" "Hey..who're you calling heavy! Put me down! What's the meaning of this?" Struggling like a child, Nevan wiggled in the fairy woman's arms.

 

Gexln laughed. "Heavy are you Nevan? Been eating a bit much have you?" he asked, laughing more than he had in a long time.

 

Nevan gave him a stony look and summoned his bow. The end of it blazing with blue fire, "You'd best put me on the ground or loose your arm, miss." "Oh dear!" She set him down and Nevan brushed off his clothes. "Now...I don't have time to mess around with fairies." he turned to Gexln, "Oh would you shut up!? I'm not fat, I'm reasonably sized for a man of my age." "Oh, you're the dear Margaret was talking about. Nevan Irik. You are much more unusual than I expected." "Is that so?"
