The Age of the Heart

Alice bit her lip until she tasted blood and folded onto the ground, "You....you mustn't die....I won't let you..." Her hands reached for him, "I can't allow you to kill yourself."

 

Auran looked up at Alice "Can we go back to the house for a moment? I need a change..." He said as he stood up and gently picked her up and held her close

 

Alice nodded shortly before summoning her Keyblade and cutting a hole in her portal, that lead back to the house. "I.....I don't know what to say Auran..." She truely didn't. What do you say to someone who just told you he'd end his life for her if it were a choice of ending her own or his.

 

"Neither do i..." Auran walked to a room that was locked and booted down the door, inside he found a cabinet which held familiar clothes. "Dont look" He said as he undressed and got into the clothes he found. A black cloak with blood red clothes underneath, he put the hood up which coverd the top half of his face, still showing his eyes though. He put the gloves on which contained hidden knives in them, and sat the other knives in his belt, then put his sword back on his belt. "Finished..." He said as he turned around

 

Alice stared out the window. She hadn't heard a word he said. Her forehead touched the cold glass and she realized something that made her laugh quietly but bitterly...

 

Auran walked up to Alice and put a hand on her shoulder "Time to go find Nova" He said quietly

 

Alice turned to face him and scanned his new outfit. She sighed, it was like trying to find the harmless piece of hay in a stack of needles. "Why all the knives Auran...?" her tone was slightly colder, it reminded her of Nova.

 

Auran looked at Alice "Why such coldness Alice?" He said

 

Her golden eyes narrowed, "Because we came back here so you could get more weapons for Kingdom Hearts knows what!? I have a right to be cold!" she glared at him, hands on hips.

 

Auran looked at her, then looked at the ground. "Im sorry... I forgot i never told you what i did for a living in my past" He said as he turned around, made a portal of his own and went to walk through it, hesitating for a bit.

 

Alice didn't move, "I do not walk in the dark..." she glared at his portal and wrinkled her nose at the stench of darkness. "Keyblade Masters do not associate with the darkness in their own hearts,why would I walk in darkness created from yours."

 

Auran didnt say a word, but silently walked through the portal and found himself on a secluded beach, he sat in the sand with his head in his hands as he didnt know what to do anymore

 

Alice crumpled to the floor. Her heart ached. Her keyblade lay at her feet and she stared at the familiar patterns of suns on it, "Oh Sunburst...what do I do?" "You shouldn't have fallen for a boy who used to call himself a Nobody in the first place.....that was your first mistake....your second..." Alice looked up and into the frighteningly familiar brown eyes of Istar. "Leaving me. I'd never leave you alone when people are trying to take your life. Instead, I'd oblige your odd little needs and walk the light with you. But alas...your friend is not so smart. Instead he leaves you here for me to pick up the pieces." Alice swallowed and reigned in her feelings, "I don't know what you're talking about. I don't feel anything for him. You know that as well as I do."

Footsteps crunched on the sand beside Auran and a lithe body cloaked in black sat next to him. Black hair streamed from her hood, "Hey kid..." Nova's silver eyes stared out at the ocean before them.

 

Auran recognised the voice but kept his face down. "Nova... I failed... You are both in danger... Its my fault... Maybe she would be better off with Istar... She was with him first..." He said as a tear rolled down his face...

 

Istar extened his hand to her and a charming smile graced his face. Alice stared at him and his hand, "....If I go with you...you'll promise not to hurt him?" Istar took a moment and nodded.

Nova laughed, "That's a dumb thing to think. Istar wants me dead...he couldn't give a damn about Alice or her feelings. Whether she loved him or not, he'd still treat her like crap. He killed our Master/Father...what more is there to say? She deserves better Auran....she deserves someone who will protect her from herself and teach her how to be stronger." Nova's face was hidden by her hood but her silver eyes glittered. "You're not crying are you?" she said, slightly disgustedly.

 

Auran looked away "But im obviously not that person... And no, im not crying" He said calmly

 

Nova shifted and looked at him, "Why all the knives? Ya goin' somewhere dangerous?" the longer she looked at him, the more Nova understood why he doubted Alice's affection for him, "So...she wouldn't follow you...and this hurt your manly pride." she mocked and smirked, "Grow up Auran. Alice is at least a thousand years older than you. She knows men; doesn't mean she's good with them...but she know's them and she's seen too much of the darkness to create dark corridors. She doesn't like them. Not after seeing what it did to the other Keyblade Masters."

Alice stood slowly, Sunburst flashing to her hand... her face was calm and peaceful. "I'm not going anywhere with you." Alice lifted her Keyblade and drove it into her chest. Blood stained her clothes and Istar screamed like a creature of the dark. "What have you done!!! Stupid girl!!"

Nova's eyes widened and she clutched at her chest. "Ah...!"

 

Auran looked up "Nova!?!? Sh*t!!" He yelled as he created a portal to the house, picked up Nova before she resisted and ran through it, only to find Istar leaning over Alice, with Alice bleeding and her keyblade through her chest. He put Nova onto a bed and ran to Alice, throwing Istar against a wall on the other side of the house. "Alice!!" He said as he held her close

 

Alice stared at him, "I wasn't going to let you sacrifice yourself for me." she smiled and winced in pain. Nova screamed bloody murder. Istar on the other hand went from a groveling creature to a furious grown man. "Idiot, don't just stand there! Save her! Alice must not die! Stupid...stupid girl.... DO SOMETHING!" Alice grew cold and a spike of sheer pain entered her eyes as Nova stumbled into the room, holding what looked like a bloodied and dead vine....the vine between the twin sisters. "Don't you dare let me die sister. You promised me! I'd get to see Kingdom Hearts! We both would! And I'd be there the day you finally got the courage to kick this little weasel of your fiance to the curb." Alice panted weakly.

 

"F*ck you Istar!! Hang on Alice..." Auran said as he focused every ounce of his energy and power, then placed his hand on Alice's wound and slowly kissed her as all of his Light went into Alice, healing her slowly...
