The Age of the Heart

"So you just walked up and killed her fiancee without so much as checking at all to gather proof that what she said was true?" Gexln questioned.

 

"It was all true, and he was someone who will burn for what he did" Auran said firmly

 

"All true? Auran, have you considered the possibility that not everything that is said to you is true. Why, i could be lying to you right now for all you know" Gexln said, equally as firmly.

 

"I heard it from both Alice and Nova, and i could see they werent lying. And i saw what he was like, and Malificent was there..." Auran said looking down at Alice again

 

"There are some people who, after years of practice, can perfect the technique of lying, training their eyes to show any emotion they desire. As for seeing what he was like, there are 2 sides to every coin. Either way, don't judge people on first impressions" Gexln said.

"Well i still believe Alice, i dont care about him, he's dead" Auran said, and added "Im going back to sleep" He said as he slowly fell asleep again

Gexln sighed. "So Naiive. That must be what having a heart does to someone" Gexln said quietly.

 

Auran had finally gotten enough sleep and woke up. "Did you even sleep?" He asked Gexln

 

Gexln didn't turn to look at Auran. "Sleep doesn't come easily for me most of the time" he replied calmly with a small yawn.

 

Auran smiled and said calmly "Then why did you yawn? you must be tired. You know what? Nevermind"

"I said it's not easy, not that it's impossible" Gexln said, yawning again. "YOU try getting into fights on a daily basis and see how awake you can stay" he said.

 

Alice woke from a nightmare riddled dream. Her shoulder ached from Istar's blade. She gave a sour glance at it on Auran's back. I'm not sure what that means when the guy you like carries around the sword your fiance used to stab you.... What do you think Nova? She waited and got no response from her sister. Alice figured Nova was recharging and lay contentedly back on the ground, hiding her face in Auran's side. "Rest in peace Master....I pray you can forgive the sins Nova and I have made in our lives. And for Istar..."

 

Auran was awake with his eyes almost closed as he watched Alice glare at Istar's Blade on his back, and he knew for her sake, he had to get rid of it. "I need to get it out of here" Auran said as he stood up, not disturbing Alice as she slept, and walked away towards a cliff. As he reached the cliff, he grabbed Istar's blade and threw it off the cliff. "If it makes her sad for me to carry it, i wont carry it anymore..." And with that he walked back to Alice And sat down, laying her against him again, and fell asleep.

 

Gexln glanced at Auran as he watched him throw the blade over the edge. Such a reckless thing to do he thought. He sighed. "Ah the things the heart does to anyone is beyond me" he stated, thinking out loud. He continued his watch.

 

Alice opened one golden eye and watched Gexln. She'd never met the boy before and now his presence frightened her since Nova had still yet to say one word to her mind since the fight. "I take it you're not here to kill us?" she rested her chin on Auran's chest, watching Gexln with a hand on her Keyblade.

 

"I'm neither here to save, nor to kill. I do what i please. As for right now, however, i have no intention of killing you" he stated calmly.

 

Alice sat up, her golden hazel eyes fixed on him, "As of now." she repeated and glanced down at Auran, "He told you about....it all. And you didn't believe it was the truth. Am I correct?" She felt Nova stirring in a defensive manuver inside her heart.

 

"Do i have a particular reason as to why i should believe it?" Gexln questioned, turning to look at Alice now.

 

Alice smiled harshly, "I wouldn't say it was a real reason...Istar, my fiance, murdered my Master and he intended to use Nova and my power to control the Light. I did the universe a favor in killing him." A sunburst of silver exploded in her eyes as Nova recognized the feeling of combat.

 

Gexln shrugged his shoulders. "Like i told Auran, there's no way of knowing that for sure, at least from my perspective. So until i see proof, which i very much doubt you'll find, i'll just take things as they go" he said casually. He was in a sort of easygoing mood.
