The Age of the Heart

Ada closed her eyes.
Show me what to do she thought,trying to reach her teachers from before.
She knelt down,eyes still closed,and placed her hands on Norozs forehead.
By this power which is mine,I ask the energy trapped to move,and restore movement
She opened her eyes,which had lost their pupils.
"Noroz? If you can hear me..try and move. This wont work unless you help"

 

Fair enough... Noroz tried to move his hand. He didn't manage to move the entire hand, but he was able to move his fingers.

 

Ada smiled,and concentrated more.
I think...its working she thought to herself,hardly daring to hope

 

As Ada kept on using her magic, Noroz fealt he could move more and more. His eyes opened gradually, and he could bend his back up so he could sit instead of lying on the ground.

 

Ada looked at him,begining to feel faint from her powers.
"Im sorry" she said softly,as she continued trying to restore movement to him

 

Noroz was finally able to move his body freely again. "Don't worry about it, I'm good now, you can stop."

 

"Yeah" said Ada,standing up quickly,and turning her face away.

 

"What's wrong?" Noroz' face was puzzled.

 

"Doesnt matter" says Ada,begining to walk away.

 

Noroz got up and walked after her, limping. "I'm not stupid, tell me!"

 

Ada kept walking.
"No...look its nothing ok."

 

Noroz walked past her and turned around. "Stop. Tell me, damnit"

 

Ada looked at him,her eyes filled with tears.
"Its nothing" she hissed,letting her hair fall over her face.

 

"I've already told you this before, you can tell me anything. He replied calmly. Noroz moved her hair away from her face with his burned hand.

 

Ada looked up at him,her eyes filled with anger and sadness.
"Id rather not...remember" she said,looking at him.
"Its to...painful"

 

"I know those eyes... Your past?" Noroz holds Ada's face in his hand.

 

"Mmm" says Ada,a tear rolling down her face.
"And the past is where it will stay"

 

"That's not always true." Noroz took out the picture he found in Fallen Haven and showed it to Ada.

 

Ada looked at it,and her eyes narrowed.
"Wh...what...she looks like me...in a way" she said,tears in her eyes.

 

"I know, it's Reva... I found it in my room."
