The Age of the Heart

Raina didn't seem pleased by this notion. "Leave...? A-alright...if I must." She lifted her head and swished over to him. Her white gown brushing the water's surface. Without a word, she hugged him, her skin cold to the touch and her dress silky. She hugged his head to her chest and crooned to him. "A moment in time...can be worth ten thousand years of memories. I know you grieve over that woman...but if she truly wanted to stay, she would not have upset the balance of Harmony and Disorder to bring you to this point in time."

 

Auran closed his eyes and put his chin on Raina's head, "The things that happen in life happen for two reasons, to make you stronger, or to tear you down... This is one that has to make me stronger, shall we go to a world im comfortable with?" He said quietly, a tear rolling down his eye

 

Raina released him, "Of course."

 

Auran opened his eyes, "Lets go then..." He said as he looked at Raina

 

Raina brushed her fingers through Auran's hair and pinched his cheek. "You're cute when you're sensitive. Well, by your leave."

 

Auran smiled only slightly, "Ohkay lets go?" He said as he created a portal and walked through it, appearing in a large room in a hotel and making sure Raina followed him into the room, he resumed being shirtless and layed on the bed, "This is comfort" He said

 

Raina looked around the hotel room and pressed a hand into the matress of the bed. "Soft... So, this is what you mean by sleep. Your sleep...does it require me?"

 

Auran laughed, for once a true laugh, "Well you can lay here if you want, but if Godesses dont sleep, you would only be laying here while i sleep" He said as he looked at Raina with a smile

 

Raina's face formed into a slight pout as she thought. "Would my laying here while you sleep benefit you in your sleep?" She truly didn't understand the concept of sleep.

Etraine fell onto the floor of her Tower of Babil in a fit of laughter. Raina was so stupid she was hilarious.

 

Auran smiled and looked at the roof, "So you can decide whether you want to lay here or not, but i might get some sleep" He said as he put his hands behind his head and closed his eyes

 

Raina settled at the foot of the bed, watching him sleep. It was odd how mortals needed something called sleep when it looked like they were just...laying there. Eyes closed and breathing shallow, she'd have thought he was dead if not for the normal pulse of his heart. She curled up at his feet and closed her eyes, mimicking him and found behind her eyelids lie memories of the past...things she didn't willingly want to remember.

 

Auran felt Raina at his feet, but sleep was too good right now, it had been a long time since he had slept properly

 

Alice smiled, tilting her head in Auran's dream. "Silly, it's called Lladranna." She laughed, a pure sound and golden eyes met his. Her blonde hair whipping about her face as she turned and skipped down the road. "It's my home. We sing...we pray...we eat...and we're happy. All because of the Hero Mithos and the Goddess Martel. Margaret taught us that a long time ago. See, the tower in the distance...that's Margaret's Tower. She lives in the Mountains cause it's quiet."

 

Auran woke with a start, to find tears in his pure blue eyes. "What is this??" He said, wiping the tears from his face

 

Raina sat up, "Are you alright, my warrior? Is something wrong?" She crawled over to him on the bed and stared at his face intently.

 

Auran hid his face. "N-nothing..." He said quietly

 

Raina didn't believe him. She pulled on his hair, "Tell me. You dream of that girl, don't you? Your memories run rampant in your head when you sleep."

 

Auran nodded, pulling his hood up to hide his face... "I cant help it..." He whispered

 

Raina yanked off his hood, "Can't or don't want to help it?"

 

Auran looked grim, "Look, you may not understand them, but i have feelings for Alice, and my head is messing with me" He said, his voice never wavering
