The Affinities

Placing his cloak on his back, Keel got off the ground and started to head to where Andrew was. That was some temper he's got. Maybe it would be better if he had a less dangerous one. Earth and Fire were probably the worst spells you could use during a temper.

 

Unlike Andrew who was chuckling, Jellal had a serious look on his face "Yeah, yeah i have." He responded to him as he slowly sat in the earth-made chair. Heh. I guess i could use a few pointers. After all we aren't exactly off to a good start, what with everyone at each others throats and whatnot. Then came his question about his wounds. "My wounds are fine" He said, even though he knew it wasn't true.

 

Jo blushed and bowed her head, "Um...uh.... Paenitet me!" Jo covered her mouth and shook her head, "I'm sorry." She scratched the back of her head as embarrassment redened her cheeks from the sudden burst of latin.

 

"Jellal... if you do need someone to heal your wounds, I could maybe... try to heal them?" Caeli asked curiously.

Haley sighed and rubbed her forehead, she wished everyone could just get along for once, though she couldn't say she didn't expect everyone to be at eachother's throats. Although she had been suprised that it was Andrew that had caused it this time, she though he was more calm and level-headed than that. If they keep at it at this rate, how long could they last? Well, at least they'd stopped now and broken up. Jo had broken out despite her words but she'd not gone after Andrew like Haley had expected. Maybe she wasn't quite as bad as she had her down for. Maybe...

Anyway, she was giving both of them a large breathing space while they cooled down. She picked up her bag and slung it over her back. She just had to try and keep some kind of control in this chaos but as things were looking, that would not be an easy job at all. She needed to earn their respect and somehow get them to listen to her. Her signature smile that had been missing of late returned, she could do this...somehow.

 

"Hahaha....you've gotten better at lying. Was that my influence too?" questioned Andrew cynically. He broke out of his dark thoughts when he heard some one else talk. "Sure, give it a go," he replied as he sidestepped away from Jellal to give them space. It was then he thought he heard something strange and turned around to search for it. He could've sworn he heard a language he hadn't heard in a while. Or probably ever heard. Nah it couldn't have been. And it definitely couldn't have been that girl. Where would she have learned Latin anyway? The book I had found was in tatters and I didn't even get much out of it. He shook his head at the idea and went back to observing Jellal and Caeli. Everyone seemed to be just about ready to leave.

 

Ariana sighed as she put on her bag. Hopefully they would be able to find somewhere safe... Soon..

 

Jellal looked over at Caeli and said "Sure, go for it."

"Great." Caeli clapped his hands together and then started rubbing them to together. He spread his hands away from each other and inbetween was a sphere of wind. The more he spreaded his hands away from each other the larger the sphere got. It then got to about the size of Jellal's legs put together, which was perfect. He then stretched the sphere and wrapped it around Jellal's legs. He then waited for about five seconds and took it off. "Did it work?"

 

Haley shook her head and walked over to Andrew, he seemed like he'd cooled off enough to be rational with her. "Hey Andrew. I was wondering, yesterday you mentioned you knew of a safe place we could go, are you still alright to lead us there? Because that's what we need, somewhere safe, warm and with food. Where we can relax and it's not so tense, then we can go about the hard task of figuring what the hell to do next. I need you with us on this one, not busy trying to kill Jo." She said to her old friend with a frindly smile. She needed to know they could depend on him and hopefully what had just happened was a one off. "Is that okay with you?"

Jellal stared at his legs in amazement. The pain was gone. "Y-yeah it did" He said."How did you do that?" He was curious to know what exactly had just happened to him, and if it would work on his ribs.

 

Jo drifted off and started humming an odd version of London bridges in Latin. ... Et lapidibus exstruendam cera cerae ceram, et lapis ... lapidis. Cera et lapidibus exstruendam, mi formosa puella. Her eyes half closed and she swayed on her feet. Images of Igneel scratching the Latin words into the ground and mentally teaching her to sing them and eventually to speak it. She could still remember how her inner fire had started to burn brightly with excitement when she'd learned the song.

 

Ulrich yawned and decided to stand beside Ariana, though Jo's unorthodox speech caught his attention. "Hrm...?" The earth-user drawled, tilting his head slightly. He chuckled, rather than wait for an answer, and turned away shaking his head. Ulrich turned to Ariana and measured her, looking up and down. "So," he began finally. "It looks like we're all going to be one Hell of a family." Ulrich joked, smiling brightly at Ariana.

 

Ariana smirked. "Family...Haven't heard or used that word in a really long time," she said. "So... Wonder where we're going to go.."

 

Caeli grinned. "It was an old trick my father taught me... before they... killed him. "

 

Ulrich chortled. "I'm not sure where we're headed... but hopefully it's somewhere peaceful. It would do everyone wonders if they could relax and enjoy themselves, rather than try and fight those who caused them misery. Revenge only causes more misery, more hate, and more revenge. A vicious cycle." He told her, both of his hands now in their respected pockets. They were clenched into fists. "I hadn't had a family in years, you know," Ulrich added, reinforcing his smile.

 

Jellal put a hand on Caeli's shoulder. "Don't worry. You'll get them back soon enough and then your father can rest in peace." He said reassuringly.

 

"Oh. Right." replied Andrew as he remembered that he had said that. "Sure, but I'm not all that sure if it's still safe. It's pretty far from here too. There's going to be a lot of camping in the future," he replied sadly. "I'm sorry that you had to see that. My temper's not really all that in control when it comes to certain people. It most likely won't happen again," he said as he looked at Haley. Hearing Jellal's remark, he said quickly, "He's already resting in peace. Would you disrupt that peace by throwing yourself in danger?"

Jo bounded up to Ariana and Ulrich, her natural cheerfulness she'd suppressed bubbling back to the surface. She didn't say a word, but merely smiled at them and continued singing, "Ferrum ferro et ferrum et chalybs exstruendam ... ... ferrum et chalybs. Exstruendam *** ferrum et chalybs, mi formosa puella."
