The Affinities

For centuries Witches and Wizards have been hunted and excuted brutally just for being different. Things have not changed since then.
The year is 2121,Witches and Wizards are widely known about and those who are caught are killed. Most are smart and hide their power's- Affinities with the four elements,each witch or wizard has one.Others try and rebel against the mortals,using their powers. This only ends badly for both sides.
Though there is a place,a sort of orphanage for young Witches and Wizards, The staff there teaches them not to hate the mortals and how to control their powers, and their emotions.It is here the rebelion first started and it is here it still resides in a few teenagers who seek revenge for their fallen kin. Most put their heads down and ignore what is going on,but when others are being forced into joining the rebelion. The others must fight back and put a stop to things before the human and Magical races are wiped out completely.

The only question is...whos side are you on?

Affinites:
Fire- People with this one seem to be the leaders of the rebelion and enjoy other peoples pain. They use their fire magic to cause pain and misery. They are usually easy to upset and should not be angered.They can control how hot and how big their fires are and they can also control how long it will burn and what kind of damange they want to do with it.

Water-People with this can been seen as more calm but the slightest thing can upset them. They can control others if they wanted too,by using the water in their bodies. They dont all use their magic for evil and most are appalled at what they could be capable of doing to others.

Air- Like Water those with this can be unpredictable and can change as suddenly as they wish,often they pick the winning side of the fight but switch back and forth. They too can change how fast or strong the wind is,they can also travel by it.

Earth- Those with the Earth Affinity are often laughed at for being slow or weak. Seen as not being a real powerfull force,but this is the wrong thing to assume as they can use their magic just as well as other can,causing earth quakes ect. They are seen as more peacefull than others.

All four- It is rare for a witch or wizard to be born with all four affinites and they are hunted more so than any of the others,by both mortals and supernaturals alike or whoever has them on their side,is most likely going to win the war.

Sophia sat infront of the mirror brushing her long red hair and tying it back from her face. She sighed, her jewel blue eyes brightening with tears, she blinked them away quickly and stood up, brushing herself down"

 

Jellal walked about the orphanage, thinking on his next move. He was a leader of the resistance and as such needed to always be one step ahead. e then walked by Sophia's room and saw her crying, but he dismissed it. He didn't want to deal with any distractions.

 

Haley smiled, it may have been slightly forced but it was a smile none the less. "Today is going to be a good day" She told herself for the 50th time in an attempt to make herself believe it and under the pretence that if she said it enough times it would come true. "Today is going to be a good day" She repeated. She put on her beloved jacket, picked up her bag, all carfully packed from the day before, and slung it over her shoulder. She was determined to make a fresh start of things and have a good day. With a resolute nod to herself she turned and headed out of the door, closing it behind her. A moment later it reopened and she dashed back in to pick up all the stuff she'd forgotten before leaving again, a little more all over the place that time.

 

Ariana sat under a tree right outside of the orphanage. She perfered being alone compared to socializing with other people- weather they be a normal mortal or a witch/ Wizard like herself. She had closed herself off every since that day... The day that her parents had been killed along with her younger brother. Although the staff always encouraged her to forgive the mortals she never could... She could never forget the looks on her younger brother's face when they killed him. She who had always been so much of a kind and quiet girl now had a bloody thirst for revenge...

 

In the orphanage, in his room, Caeli lied down in bed. Thinking what the next day would hold for him. He was always a dreamer, thinking into the future and always being the curious one.
He then looked at his drawer and opened it. He took out his iPod along with his headphones so he could think while listening to music. It has been the only thing that could calm him down ever since his families death...

 

Along his walk through the orphanage, Jellal took note of the others. some wanted peace, others revenge. A few had joined the resistance but it would take more than just a small orphanage if they were to stand against the mortals. He needed to do recruiting, and so he went to some of the other residents to try and get them to accompany him on his journey for fighters. The first he went to was Ariana. She had a thirst for revenge so she would likely be willing to help strengthen the resistance.

 

Adriana looked up from what she was doing-writing in a notebook. In front of her she saw a boy. She didn't know who he was though-she didn't know anyone here and truthfully she hadn't wanted too. She motioned for him to speak as she, herself hadn't since that day... That damned day the mortals stole her family away from her...

 

"I hear you have a grudge against the mortals." He said to the silent girl. "Come with me, and we can bring them down."

 

She looked at him questionably. How would she be certin that she could trust this unusual boy? She fliped the page of her notebook and wrote "How do you know this?"

 

"Ever hear of the resistance?" He asked, but before she answered he continued to speak. "It's a group of witches and wizards here in the orphanage that are ready to stand against the mortals. but this small orphanage alone would be wiped out in a flat second. We need to go and gather more people to join the cause before we can make our move. And that's where i need you. Alone i'd most likely fail, but if several of us travel together, we might have a chance." He explained.
