I watched that show once.
Never.
Again.

 

I wouldn't care if they did a "stupidy" version of the cartoon only for children if they kept the "normal" version like disney did with the Avengers.. but this is too much :(!
Didn't know about Beast boy backstory..

 

Nothing in Any Kids Network is good anymore... The only thing I watch nowadays is Phineas and Ferb on Disney... I really want the old shows back... :(

Not to me.

There are some shows on any of the channels I watch that I don't find interesting, but I'm not going to waste energy hating them.

 

You say hating as if expressing any disapproval at all is hating.

It's attitudes like that that got us to where we are today. Music is bad, television shows are bad, movies are bad, sure there are some anomalies, but on the whole entertainment now has far less substance than it did before. Why? It's because of the people who accept whatever is put out blindly. It's because of the people who thought that there was no purpose to "hating." It's because of the people who let corporate America sink it's claws so deep into the entertainment industry that nothing matters anymore but money.

Hating is not a waste of time, in fact, hating isn't even the word that should be used. It gives a sense of mindless, undeserved criticism, when it's not. Most "hating," as you call it, is simply people heavily criticizing something that deserves it.


Criticism is the foundation of progress.

 

CN has been part of my life for years, I watched DBZ on it, I watched Teen Titans and Young Justice on it but this just kills any loyality I had to that channel. I can not believe that a show this horrible would even be considered for airing. CN is dead to me now and it will remain that way until hey bring back the better shows and drop all this crap.

 

One word: Money.

They had to make a spin-off for my favorite series, and they did a terrible job at it. BTW, Do you think Disney and Nick are as terrible as CN?

 

Nicktoons has Dragon Ball Z Kai, and it's actually pretty good. All they do is make the blood look like dirt.

Nick is okay, some shows are stupid, but at least they don't take good shows and make horrible spin-offs.

Same for Disney.

 

The wrong is strong with this yut.
When a company does something stupid, you criticize them. When a show does something wrong, you criticize it. Apathy is the WORST possible reaction, because it just ruins things for everyone. Things stagnate, bad ideas are perpetuated, eventually money is lost and nobody wins. It is by far in your interest to have a discerning taste. Calling it a waste of time is almost an insult.

This is actually reminding me of the ending of Mass Effect 3 in a way. This new series goes against everything the original show worked to create.

(And this can't all be about money, because they could have revived the show as it was, rather than changing it so fundamentally)

I know that TV channels are supposed to change. For example, if Nickelodeon showed nothing but its 1990s shows like Rugrats, things would get boring.

You're missing the point.

It's not about showing the same shows over and over again, you always bring that up, it's about retaining the same creative integrity that you once had when you made those shows. Of course I want my favorite channel to periodically play my favorite show again, but I don't want that to be the only thing they play. I want new shows, shows that are similar to the old shows in that they capture me the same way the shows I love did. Of course I don't want them to only play the one show that I happen to love, I can go buy that show on DVD if I want, what I want is for channels to not sell out and start making garbage that only appeals to the lowest common denominator. I want them to make shows that kids can enjoy and that I can get a sense of nostalgia from even though it's a new show, something cerebral, something enjoyable, this is not that, and 90% of what is on atm is not that.

 

Except that what you consider "garbage," not everyone else will.

You're also missing the point.

 

That's called pandering. Just doing something because someone, somewhere, likes it is NOT healthy. In fact, it's remarkably detrimental to creativity.
Besides, on the topic at hand, we're talking about reviving a show. That in itself means they're trying to win over the market of the people who watched the show before. he fact that nearly everyone in that market hates this choice should be a blaring alarm.
