The background is very...... well, to be honest, it's too distracting. If you still want to keep it then you should try making it fade some more - gradient style. Lower the opacity as well, too strong colours for a background. (which program did you use for this? I might be able to give better suggestions if you tell me)

Anatomy wise, it's mostly the hands and feet that ended up too small. They should be a liiiiiiiittle bit bigger. It will help if you use a guiding line to make her feet follow the pose - like for the foot pointing towards us, it should be placed lower than it is now. A very interesting character design though, digging the baggy pants.

Thank you so much for your tips and comments!the program i used is called 'PaintShopPro' and it is very picky for me to use... first time i tried to commit computer program murder! it was amazing i was able to make this... and the background? it was a simple black with neon buuuuutttt......... i found flames! then I found this kalaidoscope button, and, well it all went downhill with stupid giggling...:rockdover:

Omg, I started out with PSP... version 7 at least, not sure if yours is older or not. In that case, you should use various tools to make your character look more real: If you want a comic style try to draw the lineart with ink instead of having a multiply effect thing going on - as far as I can see your lineart is a mix of both black lineart and skin tone, I'd stick to one if I were you. (I don't know if you scanned this beforehand or drew it in the computer) When you add shadows and highlights, try softening the edges with the eraser tool set at an extremly low opacity.

Heh yeah it's easy to end up experimenting with backgrounds a lot... But since I now know what program you use, I think you should be able to make it less attention seeking. Make it show less, or see how it is without one at all. Sometimes simplicity is the best solution.

oki i'll keep that in mind. as for scanning? No I drew this on the computer and it was friggin hard!(mostly cuz my computer is a Vista and is naturally mentally ******ed) however I'm working on one that was scanned by my friend that i origanally drew (feet still small.I suk at feet) and the background is a little less eye-burrrrnnning! yay. but i'm getting better. you'll see the new one if my friend can remember to bring his fricking flash drive to school and one with Reno,Rude, and *GASP* a blond Sephiroth!? (no it's not sephi-sama,despite how much SHE looks like him) but it is really, really hard! so it'll take awhile

    LADIDADIDUM!:ranting: i'll shut up now.
