While I also never spoke about homosexuality in school, hell, I didn't even know it existed for the longest time, it still shouldn't be banned. Even if they never speak of it, seeing it banned will probably make children think it is a bad thing, which many probably already do given how most of Americans treat it. So adding on more thing on this only makes things worse.

And I know it cannot be enforced 100% but at least before a teacher could talk about it without any worries of getting fired or something. Now they will be even less likely to do so.

And being bisexual myself I have to say that learning about it earlier would of helped me out a lot. I am still somewhat confused about it all. Maybe not in elementary, but definitely by middle school. And if anyone is to have any talk about relationships before then, then I believe they should be talk it isn't only men/women.

They can just be as confused about how to class themselves if they didn't know about homosexuality. The fact is with the lack of information about who or what you are, the more isolated you feel, because of the belief that you're the only one who is experiencing such a thing. There lies in the danger of not educating. Within the isolation of not knowing there are others like you, who are experiencing the same thoughts and feelings as you, comes the possibility of them experiencing antisocial behaviour, depression and self harm. Though they are rare, they still occur more often then we believe, they exist because of the social idea that it is a taboo, and shouldn't be talked about which this law enforces.

Just because adults find it awkward to talk about it should be banned from school? Wow...

This. And if there's a worry that talk about homosexuality can lead to talk about sex itself, it could simply be talked about in terms of, "Sometimes, even though it doesn't happen very often, people have two mommies or two daddies instead of one of each." And besides that, what's going to happen when schools have some event where students bring their parents to school and little Johnny has two men with him? Is the teacher allowed to explain that? Are his parents allowed to explain? Are they allowed to go to that event?

    Haha.

Funny how this is in the "odd news" section.
