Nobody else can have his keyblade, he is the keyblade master so he can get it back when he wants to. J ust like he let jack "take his keyblade" in Port Royal, but it came right back to him. THe keyblade chose sora, so it will always come back to him.

Think of it as a boomerang witha brain ;3

Yes, Sora called the Keyblade to him. If you notice all through KH-KH2, Sora can make it go away and come back whenever really. The only one who took a Keyblade from him was Riku, because Riku was actually the one meant for the Keyblade before he chose Darkness. All of the Keyblade wielders can send the Keyblades away and call them back. They are tied to them. The reason for this is simple...keys get lost too easily to not have some way to get them back. =:)

Since Sora is the possessor of the Keyblade, it gives him the ability to summon it at will. If you ever notice, sometimes Sora will be walking around without any trace of keyblade on him, then once a heartlesss/nobody appears it will just materialize in his hands. I must say, it's a pretty nifty trick.

Yes, in KH1, Riku was supposed to be the true wielder of the Kingdom Key. He took it away from Sora twice. Once in Traverse Town, probably by error when it appeared in his hand and he gave it back to Sora, and the second time at Hollow Bastion, where he intentionally took it. Riku lost out to Sora though in the end because Riku turned to Darkness at Hollow Bastion.

It seems that it may be possible for Sora and Riku to pass Keyblades to one another, since Sora did take Way to the Dawn and use it along with his Keyblade to slice Xemnas and both used Way to the Dawn as a focus, which as a base Keyblade was more powerful than Kingdom Key, interestingly enough. Kingdom Key was a level 1 weapon, whereas WttD was a level 3 weapon. I think that was mostly due to not wanting poor Riku to be stuck with crap while Sora had a level 7 weapon heh, but it was something interesting to point out.

I have stated how I think the blades work in another topic, but the Possession of Keyblades is awkward.

I mean, do you get one when you have a strong heart? Do you have to find one, or MAKE one?

My personal theory is that Sora's blade is the Light, Mickey's blade is the dark, and the rest of the blades have been made somehow and are hang-ons. (Riku got his from soul eater, somehow)

After you "get" a keyblade, its form adjusts depending on the keychain, which comes from memories.

The Keyblades choose their own wielders. Presumably a qualification to having one would be a strong heart, but also probably you'd need to match and align in temperament to the purpose of the Keyblade and what it represents too. I don't think just 'anyone' can be a Keyblade wielder even if they have the right mental qualifications. It's a choice to the Keyblade.

As for Soul Eater, I think that was a Keyblade in slumber, if you will. It was a magical sword with an odd name, that also looks a lot like one of the Keyblades in the trailer for the Chasers in the past. It became a whole Keyblade with key chain after Kingdom Hearts altered it. Interestingly enough, the heartless emblem symbol is the key chain. I do wonder what that's going to mean.

Hmm. I guess my theory works then. Sora and mickey have the whole "Chosen one" thing going on, while Riku makes one/recovers one.

Yeah. He always summons it. Which I like, because it would be stupid if he put it like a katana to the side on him. :/

Well, in KH-KH2 Sora has a connection to it and he can just make it go away and come back to him when he needs it, an example is in Port Royal when he gave they Keyblade to Jack but it came back to him. I think it only comes back when it's owner calls it though because at the end of KH2 he used Riku's keyblade as well as his own without it going back to Riku.

Riku was intended to be the Keyblade wielder for the Kingdom Key. This is why twice he takes it from Sora.

In Traverse Town he takes it, seemingly not really intending to, and checks it over. However, because Sora demands it back, Riku gives it to him back. When Riku gets it, it transports to his hand and when he returns it to Sora, it teleports back as well. He did the same act in Hollow Bastion later when he decided to actually take it away and use it on the Door to Darkness to get Kairi's heart.

Riku was the one who was chosen from the beginning, but because he decided to turn to Darkness and go against others, the Keyblade then chose to be with Sora. Sora was chosen as a secondary wielder of the Keyblade since Riku disappeared off Destiny Islands. Apparently, Riku, under the fate of Kingdom Hearts, was determined to be worthy of a Keyblade again, and so Soul Eater was made into Way to the Dawn. Whether or not Soul Eater was a Keyblade in BBS time, I am not sure, because it looked like there was a Keyblade that resembled it in the trailer pretty strongly. However, WttD actually has a key chain which the other did not, so I hope to see more on it.

I think that Keyblade wielders may be able to give their weapons temporarily to someone else, as Riku gave Sora WttD to use there at the end battle and they both used it as a focus to send a beam of energy at Xemnas. That's a good point to bring up too, Kikame.
