So Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, American Dad, and every freakin' Comedy Central roast ever) has a movie coming out. Long story short: Marky Mark Wahlberg's best friend is Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane), a teddy bear that came to life when John (Wahlberg) was 8 years old and wished that it could "really talk" on a Christmas night. The two grew up together and have been best friends since, as well as roommates. Ted even has a job (I guess everyone just accepts the living teddy bear?). John lives with Lori (Mil Kunis), his girlfriend, who thinks Ted should move out so they can embrace adulthood.

Little bit of me kind of thinks it's a rip off of that old web comic Sam and Fuzzy, and another part of me imagines a grown-up Stewie and Rupert.

I'm probably going to go see it. I work at a theater and get to see movies for free. my hopes aren't too high, but I love Marky Mark, and I do think this looks pretty funny.

My name was in the 'White Trash Name' list... not sure if I want to see or not...

In all seriousness, probably won't see it. Looks kind of lame.

I'm not sure how great this movie will be. What Seth macFarlane does is great for like, 30 minutes. I'm not sure how it would translate to a full-length film. Then again, he hasn't done one before. So I'll probably watch it to see how he did.

I've been debating whether or not I really want to watch this movie or not. These kinds of movies always appear funny in the trailer, but whenever I do watch them, they just end up not being as funny(kind of like when I watched The Hangover). I might try watching it whenever it's out on DVD or something. When it comes to these movies I prefer to not spend my money on them because I might or not like them. ._.

Flash Ahh lol This movie was hilarious. The beginning was funny. The middle dramatic. The end was a twist and funny.

This is a definite must see in my book, for all those who love Seth Macfarlane and comedy.

By the way, i'd really like to know, did anyone else read BW's post with Peter Griffin/Teds voice narrating lol

No "ifs" , "ands" or "buts".
The movie looks amazingly hilarious and I will see it.
Because it is very difficult to amuse me . . .

Nothing wrong with a movie with sex in it. Often way better than movies filled with violence.

    Aanyhow;

Definitely going to check this out. It didn't get good reviews from one of the newspapers here, but still - Seth is very talented, and I expect it to be pretty damn good.

I still fail to see the issue. Nothing wrong with talking about sex, or having it... Never has been, never will be.

And what exactly makes it a sin?

I'm on the fence about this movie, I'll probably go see it just because my girlfriend wants to, but I'm not the biggest family guy fan to begin with, so it's not like I'd be going there for Seth's A grade humour, more so my love of Mark.

    It isn't, lol.

I agree, I'm not too fond of Family Guy, but I've seen interviews of Seth, and he has repeatedly surprised me of how good he is at... stuff. And I think this might be him trying to get away from being stapled as "The guy who came up with Family Guy." I hope so, at least.

    So I saw Ted today.

Mark Wahlberg made it good, he portrayed an emotionally stunted 35 year old really well, his humour came off as genuine throughout and it was generally funny.

it's main problem is it's only funny now, it contained a LOT of pop culture jokes that right now make the film hilarious, but in a few years anyone new watching it would be like "whaaat?" to half the jokes.
