The kanji chart will help, but it would probably benefit you as well to find online free lessons, or perhaps even look for books on learning Japanese in libraries or in bookstores if you feel you want to purchase any.

Simply watching anime or hearing JP can help increase your comprehension, but actually looking into academic mediums to learn it will greatly increase acquisition of the language (not to mention learning how to read and write it). When I say academic, I don't just mean taking classes (although this surely helps more than self-teaching since language is interactive, and you can learn a lot from practicing with others), but looking for instructional material to study and learn from will go a long way.

By golly there's a point. Granted it's to be admired that you're expanding your horizons, but one language at a time.

You should learn to laugh at the irony of it though.

I just can't stand how people make so many typos and don't bother to use apostrophes or capitalization. Sure, making the occasional typo is okay, but damn man this isn't a chat room.

Back On Topic: Yeah, I advise you to get Japanese lessons, I have them, and they do a lot better then just learning off shows or games

Well, it'd be taken more serious if you actually posted like you cared other than defending spelling like that. Also, if you want to learn Japanesse, there's no such thing as that language. It's "Japanese". No one 'wants' to pick on you, but are you even trying? If you show some care at all, even if you are a bad speller, people would have more sympathy. Instead, we get treated to more of this crap and a (f u) and more misspellings and no punctuation at all. You are very defensive for someone that wrote that post with no care in the world. Please understand the other side.

As for learning Japanese, there are some ways online to practice without having to pay much but that route is difficult. However, if you try to take some of the words and watch anime to hear them, you can tell how they are pronounced correctly and as time goes on, keep adding more words to your vocabulary each day, building up and using some shows as a base for entertainment, or songs and other Japanese media. Another way to do it is to go to a university and look in the book shop for some beginning Japanese book like Japanese 101. They should also have tapes or something. If you are going the free route, it is much more difficult but can be done through a lot of effort. Good luck with it!

I can help you. If you want, PM me.

I must warn you, Japanese is NOT like English. But, it's not that hard once you get used to it.

I taught myself Japanese at two different time periods. Actually three.

Last summer my mom took a college course and bought two text books for it (which she dropped, then she gave me the text books). I used those to get a general feel of it, memorized all the hiragana and katakana. Then basically from that learned very, VERY basic conversation (such as, "Hi. How are you?" "Oh, I'm fine." "Is anything wrong?" "I am sick.").

Then last school year I took a course in my history class and learned from a Japanese teacher how to say things properly (helped a lot).

Which really helped for KH2FM. lol
