What do you think of them? I dont like people who get things like their whole arm tattoed or their back, but a little picture on your wrist or ankle looks good. What do you think?

I think they are fine for other people, as long as they aren't over-done, and if the tattoo is actually something you're willing to carry the rest of your life. I wouldn't get one myself though, I hate needles <.<

Depends. Some people can sport tattoos, some people can't. I personally think that if someone wants to use their own body as a canvas then that is their choice and good on them...just that they should realize that if they get a tat to understand that 50 years from now...it may not look as attractive as you once thought.

Also, there should be a rule that if you are to get a tat, you should be stone cold sober.

I see it as 'art'. As long it isn't overdone. I mean, tattooing your whole arm is okay. I've seen some guys with their full face tattooed. Damn... Now that's a little too much. I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on my arm too.

Ugh, it'd be so much better to have tatoos which lasted a decade or something, so you could sport it when you were young. Think about people who get tatoos on their arms...as they get older, the skin sags... tatoo is wrinkled... >>

I love the idea of them :D I have sketchbooks full of designs for them, but I am too much of a pussy to go and get them done. I want 5 done, one on each of my wrists, one just below my left collar bone, one on my right hip and one on my left ankle.

;~; my cousin's friend is a tattoo artist and he said he would do them for me at a reduced price if I wanted, but I can't make myself go yet xD; I always back out.

I HATE seeing people who are plastered in them. Like the sleeve ones or ones all over their back. They don't look human anymore ._.

It is also one of those things where the bigger the tattoo the harder and more painful it is to remove =/

you feel like an idiot when your 80 and looking at your sagging old tattoo... i think it would be ok if it lasted years but not forever.... isnt it strange to see an old man with sleeved tattoos?

I agree... not to mention when you're older, you'll most likely regret having them.

    I looove tattoos ^________________^
especially those 'from dusk to dawn' ones : D

But they have to be good quality and made by someone good with alot of experience, of course :P
Poorly made tattoos are just sad >__<

I know this guy ( who's actually called 'tattoo-guy ) who has this big, beautiful cross on his back with lots of colors and details :'''D

too bad they're so expensive.. <__<*
Or, well, I suppose that if they we're cheaper, people would end up getting tattoos that they'll come to regret later in their lives .__.

I thought so too, until the henna tatoo I had gave me a red mark on my skin that didn't fade for months o__o

Eh, i like a lot of tattoo designs but i'd never get one. Quite a waste really. A lot of folk later get it removed.

I plan on getting one as I get older, so I see no wrong in having maybe one or two tattoos. Having over ten is obviously pushing it, but it's a persons life choice. Not like they're forced to get it.

I'd love to get one, but I'm so terrified of needles I probably wouldn't be able to do it unless I was sedated or something. And it's really sad, too...I wanted to get an anklet with my grandmother's name in rose thorns but the bone's right there and I've been told that hurts the most.

Which is kind of ironic...I get paid to design tattoos for people, but I don't have ink to show off myself.

    I think they're ****ing awesome. :>

In fact, I've been planning to get one of the Gurren Lagann symbol on my right hand for a while now. I know I won't ever regret that. 8D

Lol well Henna tattoos aren't exactly the most healthy thing for you skin either, but at least they only last 2 weeks or so... and uh... mine didn't leave any red marks. o.o

I think tattoos are insanely awesome. Especially when people go as far as covering an entire bodypart, imo that's very couragous and determined to do, plus it's fun to look at. :3 The only show I like to watch on Discovery channel that isn't Mythbuster is Miami/LA Ink after all. If I wasn't so frightened by needles I'd seriously concider to become a tattoo artist.

Now, when you do decide to tattoo yourself then it shouldn't be something random. I mean, you should picture yourself living with it until you die. So when people decide to have a tattoo of something they are fan of today, then that wouldn't be something I'd recommend - there's a huge chance you'd regret it later on. Someone in my class tattooed Jack Skellington on her shoulder, and I have seen online tattoos of game/anime characters and logos, even keyblades. I can't tell you not to do something like that, but you should really think on the long term before doing anything.

I also think it's importaint to discuss with the person who's gonna give you the tattoo, listen to his/her advises and dare to ask questions. You gotta be clear with what you want, and if you want something written then write it down on paper first so that there won't be any typos. The ones I know don't want to tattoo you with something you'd end up not liking later on, or if it won't look good on the body as not every motive is tattoo material. Tiny details will smudge out in time, so when having details it might mean that you will need a big tattoo. Colours can do the same of course. Tho you could always refill a tattoo once it looks worn out I guess.

Having a tattoo is like showing your personality. It could be symbolic, or it could be assosciated with something you really like. Both of the ones I have (a red fairy on my right shoulder and a blue phoenix on my left leg) were something I picked because I hardly ever see people with something like that, but more importaintly because I love fantasy - fable creatures and magic. I always get a bubbling feeling inside me when thinking about those. If I were to get a third tattoo... it might be a Celtic ornament for the lower part of my back, I don't know - it is close to nerves and that would hurt. ._. It certainly shouldn't be just black tho, not on me.

And I say no to getting boozed before a tattoo. For obvious reasons.

*just has to comment* Like everyone says, it's alright if you don't go overboard. I wonder how gang members can feel so tough when they get stupid looking tattoos. I know why they do it but still...

Eh. I'd get one on the back of my left hand because it'd make me feel more awesome with my guitar but...I care too much about how some people(not random people) would look at me.

I love tattoos. My parents both have them and I see nothing wrong with them, in fact I plan on getting one for my 18th birthday.

Now, about people having them all over their body, I think it looks okay on some people, like I know this dude and his tattoos look awesome. But when people start going overboard and just get something stupid, that is where I draw my line. I mean it's going to be on the person their whole life they really should think about what they get.

Ha, I have a henna on my foot right now.
