Skadi cast Fireball against the Guardian.

Sasha staggered back a little after taking some shots from Kain. She glowered at him and pulled back another arrow, holding it before firing another Charged Shot at Kain.​

 

24 hours have passed since the last turn. Base has failed to attack and did 0 damage. Aiden's turn.

❝ Huff. Huff. Huff. ❞ Lennox was breathing heavily as she ran through the open fields. Tall grass reached up to her mid-thighs and little tufts of it stuck in the crevices of her armor. She had left town earlier knowing that there was to be some sort of important announcement going on later, but now she didn't see herself getting back in time. Water dripped down her body and droplets flew in the wind. There was a stream nearby and due to an unforeseen wild animal attack, he had to go running through it, tripping on a few stones as she did so. The heels of her hands along with her knees were scraped and bloody. Every time some grass whacked into her legs, she felt a stinging sensation. It was rather unpleasant. She needed to get back to town to heal up and dry off. If only she wasn't being chased.

There was a growl not far behind her. Lennox made the mistake of glancing back over her shoulder in time to see the beast gaining on her. Looking back only gave it an advantage. She wrinkled her nose and turned back to the vast fields in front of her. Her legs were burning from running for so long and the hilt of the sword strapped to her back kept knocking into the back of her leg. There would probably be a bruise there tomorrow. She had a couple knives strapped to her in various locations, but it would take to long to pull them out and throw one. Throwing knives had become a specialty of hers, even if her official title was that of a Swordsman.

Heavy paws knocked into her back, propelling her forward until she landed on her stomach. The wind was knocked out of her and it took a lot of force to roll over onto her back, staring up into the face of a wolf. It's jowls were wrinkled with a venomous sneer and it snapped it's mouth open once to growl, drool dripping down onto her face as it did so. They were nearly nose to nose, something she did not like. Hot, stinky breath was blown in her face and she resisted the urge to gag. She had maybe a second, tops, before its sharp canine teeth sunk into her flesh. Lennox really didn't want to kill the animals unless it was for food. The monsters were the real problems. It didn't seem like she had much of a choice.

The weight of the paws were pressing down on chest making it hard to breath. She rammed her knee into the stomach of the wolf and yanked a knife out of it's hilt around her calve. The wolf yelled at the kick and sunk its teeth into the plating around her shoulder. A few of the teeth managed to connect with her flesh and break skin. Lennox screamed in pain and slammed the knife up into the wolf's chest, pulling it firmly forward. Blood rained down on her and there was one last howl before the wolf went still on top of her.

Warm viscous liquid seemed to pool around her body. She used what force she could to shove the wolf off of herself and sit up. There was a sharp pain in her shoulder and she looked down to see it bleeding. Her gear was covered in blood -- from the wolf -- and it took a great deal of effort to rise to her feet. She wiped the knife off on the grass and shoved it back into its sheath, stumbling forward. ❝ Ughn, ❞ she groaned. Lennox kept a firm hold on her shoulder to help slow the flow of the bleeding. Town was within sight, but still a bit of a walk from here. She probably missed the announcement.

If only she hadn't left the town earlier, than this wouldn't have been a problem. She felt tired. It couldn't have been a lot of blood loss, but with the amount of energy she exerted running this far, her legs couldn't seem to keep her standing any longer. If she collapsed here, then she was bound to wind up puppy chow for sure. One leg after the other came to an abrupt halt. Her right knee hit the ground, then her left. Blood was pounding in her head and her breathing was shallow. Just a little further. She struggled to her feet, but landed face first into the grass by the time she got to them.

 

24 hours have passed since the last turn. Aiden has failed to attack and did 0 damage. Mist's turn.

The girl stared at her team mates. This seemed to be going well. However with two failing not to do any damage, she needed to make up ground. She used her arte Hyper Slash on Cain. "Quick, get him!"

 

Takeru heard the girl's order of getting in quick and he ran in behind her. "Move!" he said as the female warrior managed to do so, him activating Hyper Slash mere moments after she activated hers, thus, the two powerful Artes were in close succession with each other,, but there wasn't enough succession attacks to keep Kain on the defensive.

"I might have an idea to end this quickly, but it depends highly on the other's cooperation to work together..." he thought before instinctively rolling to the side to avoid any shots that may come his way.

"And I don't want him to realise this and prepare for it... How to do this..." His thoughts pondered.

 

Holding out his lance before him, Sieg got into a ready position before charging towards the captain, his weapon held right in front of him as he attacked.

 

Now that Rowan was no longer in much danger of being killed with another attack, he was free to go on the offensive once more. He charged his his fireball arte and tossed it forth once more. It had been fairly effective the first time, so it should do just as well the second.

 

Skadi was feeling somewhat weak, the hit had taken more of a toll on her than she had realized. She dug into her pockets and retrieved the apple gel and used it, feeling better instantly.

Sasha noticed Kain charging a spell and gripped the handle. "Not on my watch! Everyone throw everything at him. He must not succeed on using that spell!" She pulled back another arrow to fire off another Charged Shot at Kain.​

 

"A stubborn adversary." Zoro concentrated as he smirked, pulling a new arrow from his packed quiver. He visualized the foe in his mind's eye and focused as he prepared his shot. This next hit was going to take a bit more charge and all his focus in order to pull off. He sighed. Animals, even the most difficult to hunt, did not require the attack he was going for next; his charged shot. The lack of opportunity for the offense meant he really had to think as he settled his blood pressure and breathed as slowly as possible. He opened his eyes in a flash and flashed the Guardian a smile. "Prepare for some travesty; this is going to mess with your head a bit." He released the arrow and it flew off with a powerful burst of energy and a crack rather than a simple twang.

 

Aiden has failed to attack. Dealt 0 damage. Mist's turn

Mist's breath was heavy. She used all her artes and now was left with 0 TP. It didn't help that he was beginning to use a spell. A medium spell at that. She couldn't tell what element it was or what it would produce but it did not matter, they had to stagger him or else he would be successful in his cast. Mist charged him with a normal attack. That's all she could really do anyway.

 

Takeru gave a annoyed groan. "We need everyone to pitch in! Not just stand there and be a target!" He thought to himself, they had to interrupt this spell and he was up next with two others after him, should he use another Arte to cause more damage?

"I'll use a normal attack and follow up quickly with an Arte, how many daggers left?" he did a mental count of five left, the other daggers were scattered on the field, so he charged forth, and dug his hand into grabbing the grips of his five daggers and as soon as Mist moved, he thrown them with rather accurate aim at Kain and he ran past her and whispered in a low enough tone. "Borrowing this." he said and grabbed what there was of the hilt and felt her grip loosen enough, perhaps in affirmation of what he planned to do and he sliced with Mist's blade as he executed a Hyper Slash soon after in succession before delivering a sideways swipe with Mists sword to Kain's midriff and leapt back only to stand in front of the young girl, protecting her.

 

Sieg noticed that Kain had started charging a spell. Fortunate for them, the spell seemed like it would take a some time to charge. Meaning all that had to do was break his concentration and his attack will fail. Too bad for you, you've left yourself wide open. He thought as he went in for another attack.

 

Rowan watched as the captain charged up a powerful arte. Part of him wanted to let him use it, to witness the spell and possibly learn something about it. This magic seemed like one he didn't know, and would certainly be interesting to learn. However, a much larger part of him was bent on stopping him. If he used that, there was a good chance people would die. He could let that happen no matter what. He was running low on TP. He only had enough for one or two more fireballs, but while he had that, he didn't have none. It was enough to use the arte. He collected an orb of flames in his hand, then once more launched the fireball at Kain. Most mages specialized in damage, so this would certainly help with throwing him off his concentration.

 

Skadi decided the best move would be to use another fireball. She couldn't just stand by and let everyone be hurt, not when she had the power to stop Kain. Focusing on the heat she formed in her palm, she swiftly threw another fireball at the guard captain.

Sasha smiled, seeing Kain fail to use his arte and seeing him stagger. It would've been a prfect oportunity to use her skill, but alas she was low on her TP so that was a bummer. Oh well. At least he was staggering from all those massive attacks on him during that period. She just notched two arrows in her bow and launched both of them at Kain. ​

 

Zoro watched Kain attempt to heal himself, and his own eyes lit up when he noticed the foe's failure. "You're going... to hate me." He shot a one-liner with dramatic emphasis as he prepped another charged shot. The foe was weak so now was the time to further weaken him before anyone else could or would faint, so that the battle could be completed by all... save for the target of the larger group. Zoro sighed. "Politics." He fired another Charged Shot.
