Her name in English means Only, which is a coincidence due to the fact that she's married herself. So what? She's happy with it!! Since the Royal Wedding is happening tomorrow in the UK, I thought I'd post something wedding related! What do you all think about this? Is she right to marry herself as a form of protest against her society's views for people to procreate due to their social climate? Or is she just mental? Personally I believe she poses a great point in having to love oneself before you're able to love other people, and that by her actions she will show other people that they too can love themselves.
I think it's a good idea in a contory where women somewhat 'need' to marry in their opinion so at least this way she can stop all the pressure to marry someone else... TWO THUMBS UP FOR THE WOMAN WHO THINKS!
I agree, it is a nice stance for her to take, given the culture she lives in. I hate how people think that if you are single and/or never married that you can't be happy by yourself. Single men always remain "bachelors" and yet when a woman hits a certain point in her life she is then considered a "spinster" instead of a "bachelorette". At this point in my life, I don't see myself as anything but single. If I find someone down the line, fine, but I'm not going to hinge my whole life on finding someone to "complete me" just because society thinks it weird for someone to grow old without a spouse. I'm happy with myself and I enjoy the company of current family/friends. I don't need romance to know what love is.
I like the philosophy, not the idea. It just seems weird. If she starts dating somebody, is it adultery? Is she legally considered married? Will she kiss herself at the end?
Who wouldn't want to date themselves? I mean, nobody knows you better than yourself for one. For another you can never go behind your own back without yourself knowing, unless you were drunk out of your mind I mean. Though it must be rather annoying for your lover to always know what you're thinking. Seriously though, that's pretty darned awesome and hilarious. I wish her all the luck she can get.
huh, this happened in an episode of Glee when Sue Sylvester decided to marry herself. she even exchanged vows with herself! anyways, i think it's weird and is a very strange way to send the message to love yourself. but i don't see the harm in it, i just think it's silly, that's all.
I agree, the message of appreciating yourself is admirable but the actual execution of marrying yourself? Either very brave or very stupid, both can be applied here.
Do you Chin-Wei-yih take Chin-wei-- hey wait a minute! I can see it now. I'm happy for you Chin-wei-yih. Well at least nothing can go wrong.
...Oh man, leave it to an Asian. Our lives would be so boring without them... Anyway, how's the wedding gonna work? Did she propose to herself?! So...if she falls in love with herself, won't that be infidelity or something...? An affair against herself..? Wow.
