Wow! This is actually pretty interesting. (Hope it doesn't happen to me, being an artist an all...)

I'm actually pretty glad that i live in a country where i have the freedom to draw what i want, this sure is a real shame. I condole for him, as i can't even imagine what i would do if i couldn't draw. Drawing is my life, and so is his... they pretty much "killed him" in doing this...

wow, for an artist to have his hands broken like that, that's really messed up. Those guys up top need to learn to be the bigger people and just shoot themselves, because they're not doing the world any favors dictating the way they are

    That's just wrong.

I hope they find the gunman that injured the artist and arrest him.
Artists have every right to be artists, after all.

I wish him a speedy recovery.

True that, but when political cartoons displease a dictator due to trying to open the eyes of the people, or to make fun of them; it doesn't go over well... Especially in the Middle East, since many dictators reside there.

I do hope they figure out who did this, i personally am enraged that they would do that.

This is, unfortunately, one of the prices of political cartoonists/journalism.

These people do things to get out to the world the actual injustices happening in their lands (even foreign lands), and they put their life in danger on a daily basis. I remember watching a movie about this one journalist who went out to Syria, Libya and other places, and was eventually killed in a crossfire incident one day. He really did a lot of good for those people, to the point where the US government acknowledged their suffering and stepped into help.

I really admire these people for the work they do, and just to see yet another of them beaten so cruelly is just heart-wrenching. I do hope, in the very least, that his message will get even more attention than it is already, and that the Syrian government will change to be better for the people.

    Yeah, same here.

My grandfather was an artist and made lots of money from his paintings, but that started going downhill in early 2010, and he's, unfortunately, no longer in this world, so no more art of his -- new, anyway -- will be seen.

It may be intended for harm, but he is a martyr so to speak, shows that there is still more that needs to be done before Democracy truly reigns...

That's really unfortunate, my sincerest condolences...

That is true. Hopefully the people will get enough support to actually get their voices heard more in the government. :/
I'm actually somewhat surprised the US hasn't entered into this yet
especially considering we have our noses in everything ever

Well this just happened sometime yesterday, So it is fairly new. I went on to Washington Post.

Plus informing KHV was a way to getting the word out. So i hope this gives us motivation to resist such uncalled for events...
