Sword Art Online: Side Stories

Masaru was within the Town of Beginings after hearing Kayaba Ahikhiko; sprlcaimation of the NerveGear's function of frying their brains if forcibly removed and already a few players died that way, thankfully, his mother and sister didn't attempt it, but the onyl way to get otu was to clear the 100th floor.

"That'll no doubt take a while, and most of the players have probably gone and taken the best grinding spots or the Beta Tester's have already done that..." He though to himself as he walked the streets. "My HP represents how long I can survive in this world, but if it hits zero... I'm a goner." He thought and even though it was the cruel truth, it did state the fact that was a important one, but the question was, what to do now?

"I suspect the dungeon isn't easy to get to Floor 2 as all FloorDungeons have a Boss, more chance of a surivial is teaming up with other play-." his thoughts were interupted by colliding into someone and he took note of what occured, he bumped into a a boy wielding a katana (Kuroi) and he sheepishly smiled. "Ah I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going, was thinking too much you see." he said with a embarassed tone, rubbing behind his hair as he spoke.

 

Kuroi felt someone bump into them. He whipped around, seeing a shy(?) looking boy. The boy apologized with a sheepish expression. Kuroi glared at him, "Watch where you're going." he muttered in a cold voice (ahh.... the tsunsama...) "What do you want anyways?"

BIC: Mya smiled at Elise's small, but confident(?) agreement to stay with the group. "Thanks Elise." She then noticed another person at the entrance of the dungeon. After Elise's somewhat outburst-to-small invitation to join them and his acceptance, she felt relieved. "Thanks for joining us. We just happened to need an extra hand." Just as she said that, another person decided to run into the boy earlier. "So...how many more are gonna walk into this dungeon?" She spoke in a slightly sarcastic tone because she wanted to quickly clear the dungeon.

 

Masaru gave a light chuckle before his expression turned serious. "What do I want? To clear this game and I'm not going to just risk my life as a Soloer, so I figure it best to party up and work together, we all share the same goal, complete SAO and get back home." he said to Kuroi and looked at Mya. "Many I imagine, this is the Floor Dungeon to advance to the next Floor, I'll help out anyway that I can and there's no need to pay me in Col or such things either." he said in a rather friendly tone.

"So, will you guys have my help?" He asked all three of them.

 

"All right." Kuroi said. "We should really head into the dungeon. After the girls agree of course."

 

This topic of the dungeon had nothing to do with him. He was alright, as was the saleswoman and his students. And that's all that he'd focus on. So, quietly he slipped back to surveying his little group. They were rising to his level quickly, and that made him smile with a pure joy. His brushed his hair right out of his eyes and began to call out for his little group. "Alright guys, that was great, really great. We're going to head into town, where I will run through the basic NPC shops and teach you to not be afraid to ask questions and check all of your information booklets." As he spoke, they conviently formed a little line, so he could give out the the potion to the one who needed it most.

Luckily only one person needed it and after that, he began to lead them back over towards the Town of Beginnings safe limits. "Good luck stranger." He said to himself, as he let his mind get back to the matters at hand.

 

OOC: Stupid Procrastination

As Kaito reached the dungeon before him, he took a look at the obstacle before him and started to think up some ideas on how to get through this alive. I could try and attempt this alone, but it'll be easier if I'm in a group. He thought before shrugging his shoulder. Guess I'll have to hope for the best right now.

 

Kuroi glanced over to the left and saw a boy, standing and staring at the door. "Hey, you." he called over to the boy. Even though he acted really cold, deep down, he cared about others around him. This kid was another player that was stuck in SAO like him and his new party members.

 

"Um... I-I don't know... I didn't think about that at all...." Ittoki looked down at his boots, scratching the back of his neck. "Baka..." He said under his breath. Why was he acting so weak?

She had opened her mouth to reply, however before the words could come out one of the two men began walking away. Pausing to watch the teacher leave Meerna sighed, realizing that they never finished their trade. That was probably a good thing now though, as she then heard how he did not think about the others. In that case, she would need those items.

Pounding her hand into her forehead a few times she mumbled 'I can't believe I'm going to do this,' before turning and heading in the direction which the boy had come from. "You can come with, or go back to town. I really don't care which."

Without waiting to see if he was following or not she made her way to the dungeon, only to see that the two original girls had been joined by others. Was her coming here pointless in the end?

"Uh...hey... I ran into your friend and got worried that two people wouldn't be enough... But if all of you are together now...?"

 

"E-Eh?" Ittoki was surprised when the merchant girl asked him if he wanted to go back with her. "U-Um..." he thought about it. I am strong enough for the dungeon, he thought, checking his stats. I-I should be fine... Tokiya would be mad if I gave up so quickly. "O-Okay. I'll go with you." Ittoki followed the merchant girl back to the dungeon. "O-Oh yeah. I don't think I got your name yet." he flashed her his usual bright smile.

At the dungeon, he saw that everyone was still standing there. "Sorry guys... I kinda chickened out, but I'm okay now! I'll be fine! Hehe!" he smiled. "Why don't we start a new party? I'll send you guys a party accept message. Please press OK!" Ittoki opened up his stats menu, sliding his fingers down. He selected "Create Party" and entered his new friends' names. "Okay, sent them." He was trying his best to be the leader, because he knew that he could do this. Maybe he also wanted to make up for ditching earlier. He noticed that there were a couple of new members, "By the way, I'm Ittoki!" Then he turned to the merchant girl again, "A-Ano.... merchant-san, would you like to join our party? I think it'll be better if we had more people. Plus you probably have lotsa crystals on ya." He opened up the dialogue box that asked for the name of the player he wanted to add, waiting for the merchant girl's reply.


Kuroi's POV

Another girl tailed by a red-haired boy came running down the path. The girl stopped and asked if the group was okay. Then the red-haired boy asked the group to be in his party. Kuroi stared at the dialogue box, quickly mulling over whether he should press the O button and accept, or the X button and refuse. His hand reached over to the X button automatically, but he forced himself to press the O button. Maybe this is a good chance to actually make friends, instead of me chasing them away.

The red-haired boy introduced himself as "Ittoki". "Kuroi." he mumbled, hoping that Ittoki would hear him. "Ehhh? Kuroi?" Ittoki leaned closer to Kuroi, then gave him elevator eyes. Not the snotty type he hoped. Ittoki giggled, "You remind me of my best friend, Tokiya. He's an extreme tsun-sama, but he can be really nice!" Then he looked down, "I kinda miss him...." Ittoki's expression was like a puppy in the rain. Kuroi felt the urge to reach out and hug Ittoki, but stopped himself.

Mya scratched her head, uncertain at the suddenly growing group in front of her."Oh man...just how much more can come into the dungeon at this time?" She heard him saying to create a new party and shrugged."I don't see why not." She accepted the request before giving Ittoki a hard stare."If you're going to be a party leader, then you better not run off again...

 

Masaru looked at the Party Invitation sent by the oen calling himself Ittoki, there was basically two simple options, X or O, meaning Yes and No respectivefully in their colours of red and blue as he pressed the blue button, the system registering him into Ittoki's party as in the upper left corner of his vision was a Party List of the group that were together as well as their names and HP Bars as he heard Mya's comment.

"I doubt Ittoki will likely run off, not when he issued the invite for the Party since all of our lives are basically in his hands." He thought to himself and continued to ponder his thoughts. "However, a party of this size won't gain much Experience since it has to be divided equally and then there's the drop rates and whoever gets the last kill."

 

"Don't worry!" Ittoki clenched his fists and did mini fist pumps. His eyes glinted with a different fire. "I'll be fine! I'm ready for anything they throw at me!"

"How about the rest of you guys? So far it's me, Kuroi-kun, Mya-chan, and..." He looked at the boy who just accepted his party request, checking the player's name box, "...Masaru-kun. Nice to meet ya, Masa-kun!" He put out his hand, "Ah! I-Is it okay to call you Masa-kun?" Ittoki turned to his other party members, "Hmm... Is it okay if I call you Mitty?" He asked Mya. "And... Kurocchi." He pointed to Kuroi.


Kuroi's POV

"W-What?" He was startled at the embarrassing nickname that Ittoki just gave him. "Please?" Ittoki gave Kuroi his puppy dog eyes. Kuroi felt his face warm up. "F-Fine..." He mumbled, looking towards the left to get Ittoki's face out of his view. "Yaaaay!" Ittoki shouted, glomping Kuroi.

Mya frowned at the name Ittoki just gave her."Mitty? Really? Mya is a lot easier to pronounce and remember you know but whatever. If you really want it, then go for it." Just how old is he in real life? She sighed."Anyways, we should get a move on before more players decide to come here."

 

Masaru heard his nickname and he was kinda surprised that gotten one so quickly, perhaps Ittoki didn't care about how close you have to get to nickname or such things. "Sure, you can call me that if you prefer it that way, doesn't bother me much." He said with a shrugging of his shoulders and heard Mya's suggestion, or rather 'Mitty's' and nodded.

"The sooner we get though the dungeon, the sooner we can ascend the floors and beat the game." He spoke, backing up Mya's suggestion of leaving the Town of Beginnings.

Elise looked back and forth between people as the conversation went on. She bit her lower lip and tried to find a place to intervene, but gave up after a while. She had nothing to really say. With that many people around it would have better to stay silent than to make a fool of herself, anyways.

After Ittoki finished assigning nicknames, which Elise thought were incredibly childish, Mya and Masaru both suggested that the party begin to move. "The sooner we get to the dungeon, the sooner we can ascend the floors and beat the game," said Masaru.

Elise nodded. What he said was completely true, and it seemed to her like the party had enough members to make it through the dungeon. She took a deep breath, put on a serious face and said, "Let's go..."

 

"Un!" Ittoki agreed with Elise. "Anyone else? Oh yeah, how about.... Eli-chan for you?" He asked Elise. Although he was 16 in real life, he loved giving nicknames to people because he believed it made friends closer.

"Meerna." There seemed no harm in giving him her name, it was impolite not to after all. Especially how they kept bumping into each other. She would even accept the party invite, not trusting this boy to remain in the party long enough for them to actually make it through the dungeon. Besides, the shy one did not look like a fighter and the others were shaky as well. All seemed more worried about their interactions than what really mattered and that worried her. Though she could be wrong, judging too harshly by appearances only. But better safe than sorry.​

As a beta player she would at least make sure they all lived. It was the least she could do.​

​

So without sticking around for the conversation to drag on she headed towards the cave opening, appearing as if she wasn't the only one who wanted to get things moving along. Though in truth she just had nothing else to say and without bartering there was no point in conversation to her.​

 

Kaito turned to see who had called out to him before he was greeted by a party invite. Well, that takes care of one problem. He thought as he pressed the blue button, signally to the party leader that he'd joined them. He figured that it would be a good idea to head over to meet his new teammates. "Looks like I'm also in this party." He said once he'd gotten over to them.
