Star thought about it. She could pair with this girl and enter the tournament, however she did not trust her. Shiina was different because there was guilt which forced Star to trust her. In honesty she wanted to be with Masaru as a partner. She clenched his arm. "I want to be a partner with my Masaru. I think it is up to Shiina who goes with who though." Star was completely oblivious to the murder that walked beside them. Her mind was in a race at the time and could not clearly think. Masaru however asked who Scarlet was. Maybe if she could get some information, she could trust Scarlet and possibly fight along side her.

 

A Red Player dared showed his face on this floor? Heh, what guts that one had. Normally she'd kick him out on the spot, but as these Players seemed intent on fighting him in this thing she'd allow it. Just this once. It would be good to see what he could do, after all didn't someone call him Masamune? If rumors were right... Yeah, testing him out would be good.

But for now she ignored his presence, turning to introduce herself first. "My username is Scarlet and you may call me by that. Surely you recognize it, signing up for this? And okay, I just need a partner. Either one of you will do, and if you don't want to I can always ask someone else. Just decide quickly, it's starting soon."

Turning to the others in the mess, she crossed her arms. "All fighting will be saved for the matches. Anyone who breaks this rule will not be permitted to participate."

 

Masaru's arm was clenched rather firmly by Star, and what did he just hear from her? He was hers? When was this decided? He couldn't respodn to that question as Scarlet explained the rules, which thankfully, helped stopped PK-ing's at least, most likely there'll be judges or standby Players just case such a thing did occur.

"Well, since my friend Star wants to team with me, could you perhaps have this young lady here be your partner?" he nodded to Shiina and looked to the young friend they helped steer away from her target. "Nothing to worry about, so just enjoy yourself and don't let your vengence drive you okay Shiina?" he asked her with a smile.

 

Masamune watched the girl cower away and the holder of the tornament ask for a partner out of the three he'd bumped into. "My thanks for letting me in, Miss Scarlet...no trouble here today... You be good little ones. Mya!" He turned and reeled in his partner, "We're heading inside. Nothin' to worry about."

Shiina took in a shaky breath and her wolves calmed too. Turning back to Masaru, Star and Scarlet she stared at Star after she'd proclaimed Masaru to be hers. "Uh...o-okay. I'll go with you, Scarlet...um...if that's okay with you. I...I have a high defense and I'm fast... Mina and Koru," she guestured down to her two tamed wolves, "Generally play offense for me... K-Koru has the higher health...and a few Hate Skills...um..." Was she still talking? Oh brother...

Masamune checked and double checked his equipment, satisfied he allowed a small smile to creep onto his lips. The Beater and her boyfriend...how much fun it would be to finish them off. He checked the remaining time he had as an orange cursor. Might set him back a few more months if he did it now...of course it could also permamently fix him in the red zone. "That girl...I wish I could remember what I did..." Shutting his eyes, frightening images of lightning flashes and blood splattered on the walls of an unknown house flashed through the darkness. "Once a killer...always a killer."

 

ooc; I think everyone here has their skills posted already but me, so I'll make sure to get that up when it's Scarlet's turn to fight. So we can compare them in battle. This is also useful for things like...Scarlet's special skill is Invisible Wires. If someone's detection skill is higher than her hiding skill they can see either faint traces of the wires or them fully.

And sorry this is before Tale and MoK signed up, but you can make a post saying they did and then listening to Scarlet/preparing for their turn.

Scarlet smiled at the timid girl, sending a party request. She waited for it to be accepted before saying 'good luck' to her. "Everyone should wait here until it's your turn." Moving to the center of the arena now Scarlet went to start the tournament.

Now in the center she cleared her throat before activating the announcement system, allowing everyone to hear what she said. "Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to the first Moonlit Swords Tournament!" Pause for cheers. "The rules are simple; fight fair and no killing allowed. To help keep these rules various guild members are keeping watch," she waved her arm, gesturing the the guild members that made a ring around the arena. They were spaced out, ready to stop any Player from breaking the rules at any given time. They were the best, just in case high level people signed up. And by the looks of it, the highest levels were here today. "And you must fight in with a partner."

Turning to the VIP Section she glanced at her second-in-command, an older male Player. "With the sign-in information Asura will now randomize the parties, assigning each a number."

A moment passed before Asura sent her a message. Once she opened it she began speaking once more.

"Team 3: Star and Masaru... Team 10: Mya and Masamune. Team 28: Shiina and Scarlet. Team 30: Kuroi and Ittoki... That gives us a total of thirty-five teams. Good luck to you all!"

The announcement system turned off and she moved to the entrance where most teams still waited, though others have moved to the stands. There were supposed to be a waiting room, but after that incident... Shaking her head she turned to look up at the VIP Section where Asura will now speak from.

Asura stood and looked over the crowd. This was a stupid idea. They were supposed to stop violence, not promote it as a sport. Scarlet voted with him, but in the end majority rules.

Sigh. Might as well get it over with then. So, will these first teams have the luck of the draw?

"Match One will be between... Team Three and Team Thirty. Will the parties please enter the stage?" He paused, watching as a guild member found the teams as they approached the arena and gave each a ribbon that each member received. Team Three's color was red while Team Thirty had blue. "Good. There are three ways to win. Get both team members' HP down into the red zone, obtain their ribbons, or have the other team forfeit. Once both sides are ready the battle will begin."

[ ooc; whoever posts first gets the right to say the countdown has started. just remember to follow the rules and allow everyone to post before going again. Everyone in the battle that is. People outside of the battle can interact with each other or just wait their turn. ]

 

"Eh? W-We're up first?" Ittoki heard the announcement.
Kuroi checked the board, "Yeah... Star and Masaru..."
"Oh! They were our old party members from the beginning!"
"Doesn't matter. We'll crush 'em." Kuroi growled. He pushed up his glasses and walked to the pit.

"YOSH!!" Ittoki opened one of his pouches containing his throwing knives. He held one in each hand, twirling them. "Ready."
Kuroi silently drew his katana, Kurikara, with his right hand, it's ring resounding through the arena. He gripped Kurikara's hilt, pointing it towards his opponent. "I'll go first." Kuroi said under his breath.
Ittoki nodded in reply.

Kuroi dashed at his opponent, roaring, "RAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!" He thrust his blade at their opponent's chest. A bloodthirsty look flashed in his eyes, partially obscured by his messy bangs.

 

Watching the first match begin, Kaito looked as the player charged immediately at the opposing player. Seems like he doesn't want to waste any time. HE though before hearing what Hayden said. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll do fine."

 

Mya nodded and followed Masamune into the building. She tapped her fingers anxiously. She then overhear him talking to himself. "That's not true..." She spoke quietly to herself. She hoped he didn't mean what he said. After getting their numbers and announcing the first contestants, she watched carefully at the battle screens, observing their moves. The thing is...what do I get out of this? I can't give them the wrong idea of my position...

 

Chuuya had finally arrived to his private box after walking around Colosseum and seeing all the people that were here attending. They were all so happy, not having a care.....just......living, and he couldn't expect that for himself. He opened the door to his box and closed the door and locked it so no would open it on him. He took up his seat and began to watch the violence that would sure to be bloody. The first match had just began with the first unsheathing their katana and charging the enemy.

 

Sighing, Masamune glanced down at his small party member. He knew that look. "So you don't think I'm a killer huh? That's very optomistic of you. By-the-way...I doubt anyone's going to think you're a PKer just because you've entered a tornament with one. Plus...in two hours I'll be green again. You've nothing to fear...until after the tornament...in which I'll have made sure you're far away from me." Even if he couldn't remember her aside from her face, he felt...yes felt, a touch of protectiveness for her. Reaching his hand out towards her, he listened to the battle cry of the first battle and dropped his hand to his side. Moving so he could see, Masaume paused only briefly once the contestants came into view. Ittoki...that one he remembered clearly. The boy that was an idol or something.... "Never thought I'd see him again..."

Star was ready. She looked over to Masaru and nodded. "You take the front, I am long range so I am better from a distance." She jumped back with a dagger in her hand. She had three throwing pins as well. She saw the two charging at them. This was an error made by them. With the amount of force they were using to go that direction, dodging the counter would be difficult. Star threw the pins at them both. One to the left, one to the right, and one in case they ducked. She then proceeded to throw her dagger on the high. If they tried to dodge, they would surely be hit, however if they were successful, their footing would be off and Masaru would have the perfect chance to attack them with full force. This may only be the first round, but it was a full blown war between the two teams. This was the time to prove her armor and weapon crafting skills were top notch of her class. This was the best way to make a name for herself. The best way for people to see what she could make. The best way to drive in customers.

 

Masaru looked at Star and heard she plan and he nodded in ressponse, Ittoky seemed to be the Long Range Fighter while Kuroi was a clsoe range, just like him and Star had given them a tough counterattack and he decided put his Mastered <<Spirint>> skill to use and charged in a blinding speed at Kuroi, Dream Eater drawn and moved hsi body ever so slightly just for Kuroi's sword to barely miss the Golden armour and Dream Eater's blade comign dangerously close to the opponent's face.

 

Kuroi jumped back as the tip of Masaru's sword scraped his cheek. Kuroi's HP bar dropped ever so slightly. "SWITCH!!" He called to Ittoki. Ittoki jumped in and parried Masaru's attack by crossing his knives, blocking the sword point. Ittoki jumped back and rushed at Masaru again. Ittoki dropped down and slide, like how a baseball player would do, aiming a low sweep at Masaru's legs to knock him down.

 

Masaru's attack was blocked by ittoki's knives, obviously a good attempt at blockin and counterattacking while Kuroi was going for a sliding tackle, that was two attacks against one, but what could he do?

"My Parry Skill is Mastered so I can deflect his attack and then...!" He thought and brought Dream Eater up to parry Ittoki's knives and ran by him jumping in the air and bring his sword down ina downward stabbign motion to stab Kuroi which he did mange to get a leg before jumping back for room, Star would handle Long Range to keep them deflecting any projectiles, they basiclaly had it covered while it seems Kuroia nd ittoki's strategy relied upon Switching, and it also depended on how long their weapons would last for, Dream Eater was a newly forged sword so he didn't have to hold back, but Kuroi's katana and Itttoki's daggers or such may not be such good condition.

 

Kuroi staggered back, "Ugh... Forget about switching..." He looked at Ittoki, "JUST GO AT THEM! RAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!" Kuroi ran at Masaru once again, activating sword skill Hiiogi, slashing upward, downward then thrusting the sword at Masaru's chest.

Ittoki dashed at Star, pulling his arm back, activating Martial Arts skill Embracer, flexing the fingers on his right hand and stabbing it at Star's unguarded torso. "I'm sorry!" he apologized.

 

"I would have to say Masaru and Star." Since he seen how well Masaru can fight and make strategies, it was more likely that he would win. But being able to form strategies was only a part of fighting, the other half was the actual fight. Kuroi's team might be able to pull off a win. The only was to no for sure was to watch the fight play out.
